    On Fire roll
    Brittney B.

There wasn't any wait to be seated. Staff was super friendly and helped us pick out something my husband could eat (he is allergic to shellfish but loves sushi). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their decorations were beautiful![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food had a quick turnaround time also! My husband got the fried Vegas roll and fried dynamite I think. I got the pony boy and on fire roll. We also tried their Mongolian dish with fried rice. It was all delicious! My daughter got the teriyaki kids bowl. The on fire roll was topped with a lot of crab that tasted smoked. If you don't like a Smokey flavor then don't get it.

    Seafood soup $22

No. I ordered seafood soup $26.40, Mongolian beef $24.50, and seafood fried rice $22. EVERYTHING tasted frozen burned! This was horrible actually. The advertising online is very deceiving. Service was ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance meh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't speak about sushi rolls bc I didn't ask for it THANK GOD! But I just can't see how would they be good since everything is frozen and tastes old. The portion are normal not a lot not too small. Unfortunately this was a $100 lost. I feel robbed tbh

Good fusion food! I extremely enjoyed the seafood soup - full of delicious bold flavors! I've never tasted anything like it. It has a mix of all different kinds of seafood in it. The portion is big too, same goes for the rolled ice cream - both huge! For the rolls, they were good, not great. No complaints because this place does not advertise to be authentic - it's fusion! They put their own spin on sushi/seafood and they created their own different taste - nothing wrong with that. Owner served us that day - very kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is fine but I did notice a slight odor when I walked in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe it was just that day. Overall, I would come back solely for the seafood soup. Very tasty - can't stress that enough I hope this business does well! I love a good fusion spot.

Food was amazing. Started with the Ceviche with fried wonton shells. Delicious! Sushi rolls were big and filled generously with crab meat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful ambience with a modern Japanese vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is very friendly but it was forgotten to check up to fill our waters. They have this really good Sake called Nihonsakari Sakari Yuzu that you can't get anywhere else but is pricey. It paired perfectly with the ceviche.

This place is ok. Service sucked because I had to ask for everything. Cup of water, ginger and wasabi, napkins, utensils. Pretty ridiculous for any restaurant to ask for basic items that should already be provided when dining anywhere. Sushi tower was ok. The tuna was good, but the rice was a bit overcooked and dry. I was looking for a bento box on their menu and it's not available. They only have Chinese lunch specials. The veggie tempura was also just ok. They used the odd parts of the veggies that you can put in dishes like the top part of the bell pepper and the butt end of a potato. It's like covering up the wasted veggie by frying it in batter. Maybe I'll check out their Chinese menu next time.

We came here since we were hungry and wanted something like sushi - and saw it while driving. My cousin looked up the reviews online and it was 4.5 so we decided to give it a go! So glad we did :) We were greeted and seated upon arrival. Service was great - ordering was fairly easy - sad we missed lunch! But our food came out pretty quickly. I had the Tuna nachos, my cousin had the Hawaiian bowl & we shared the sunrise roll. All of it was pretty fresh and had a kick, which I loved! Would definitely come back again. Great food, cute decor & amazing service

A bit messy in presentation but tasty poke bowl. I think I expected edamame in it based on the yelp menu but it might not come with.

Was looking for a different place to get sushi and found that crunch sushi moved over into west valley from Taylorsville (note as of my review, while the address in Yelp is correct, the pinned location still reflects taylorsville) Immediately on walking in, it's definetly a nice modern location. The sushi menu is pretty extensive, I feel this is good and bad. There's so much I had a hard time just picking some, but it is nice to have a lot of options. It was clear though they had a lot of unique looking options. We ended up picking the On fire, Islander, and the TnT. We also got an order of Salmon Nigiri The On fire was by far the best of the 3, there was a lot of flavor and the rice was good quality. However, all of the fish/crab is piled up in the middle. Aesthetically it looked cool, but practically it made it difficult to eat. We ended up with just a big pile of meat to eat at the end. The islander was okay, the flavor really just didn't resonate with me though. The TNT is one of the fried options. While it was bad, it was not great. It felt as if it had been fried for too long, which made the whole roll chewy. The Salmon Nigiri was honestly the BEST nigiri I've had in a very long time. The salmon on type was an extremely generous slice and tasted delicious. I would come back to crunch for the nigiri alone. We also got a serving of their rolled ice cream. This is a matter of great opinion, but I did not enjoy it. I expect rolled ice cream to be "lighter", but this ice cream is very dense and creamy, with not a lot of flavor. My wife however enjoyed it particularly because of the dense and creaminess . Now for the bad: 1. Its pricey. For just three rolls, nigiri, a drink, a plate of teriyaki chicken and some ice cream, it came out to $108. While I see potential in the rolls, this felt too expensive for every roll to not blow me away. There are other sushi places in town at this similar price point that have been able to accomplish this. 2. The kids "menu". This was the saddest kids menu I've ever seen. There are 3 items. Chicken nuggets $9.99, cheese bacon fries 10.99, and mozzarella sticks $8.99. What's the problem with this you may ask? 2/3 of these items are just regular appetizers and are in no way suitable as a kids meal. The only half decent option, chicken nuggets, are atrociously priced at $10 for 5 nuggets. We opted to spend just a few more dollars to get an entire plate of teriyaki chicken with rice. This was more than enough to feed both our kids and still have plenty of left overs to take home and enjoy. 3. The portion of rice with the teriyaki chicken. Typically, at any place I've been that serves "Chinese" food like this, there is always a generous portion of rice that comes with the meat. It would seem Crunch has an opposite philosophy. Not only did the rice come in a small bowl, but the bowl wasn't even full The service was good. I wouldn't say it was outstanding by any means, as we only got drink refills by flagging our server down towards the end of our meal. But the server was friendly enough. Overall, it's hard to fully judge a sushi restaurant based on just a few rolls, so I think as far as the rolls are concerned, 3 stars is far for now, however the bad from the experience and the price tugs this down to 2 stars for me. I am however willing to come back and give it another go

    Coconut kiss roll

Food was awesome! I haven't been able to eat sushi after jaw surgery a year ago and this was my first time since. I got out of my comfort zone and ordered something new. I got the chefs special or a new roll that was put on the menu. It was the coconut kiss roll. Ohh my goodness was that yummy! Ment to take a picture of it but didn't remember till i was almost done also the truffle edamame was wonderful also. Our waitress was nice and checked in on us a decent amount of times but didn't interrupt while our mouth was full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean, well lit and smelled amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will make a stop on our next trip through SLC.

if you're looking for GREAT quality sushi, this is the place! what really drew me in was how attentive the servers were, they explained to detail every roll we had doubts about which made it a even greater experience because everything we got was delicious very assertive ! will definitely be coming back! piña coladas are bombbbb as well

    Albacore Garlic Roll
    Lyndi B.

This is a new sushi fusion restaurant that took over the building that used to be Banzai. The set up was pretty much the same with a few minor changes. We are so glad we took a chance and went in. Their food was fantastic and definitely has some fun fusions. Presentation was spot on. Our favorite, this trip, was the Idaho Roll and the coconut shrimp was yummy. Service was pretty good too! The server checked in on us regularly and was very pleasant. We will be back to try some other items that looked delicious. *As a bariatric patient I had a few sips of miso broth, one coconut shrimp, one albacore garlic piece and one Idaho piece (without most of the rice) YUM!

    Isabella F.

The only thing edible was the tempura vegetables. Somehow they managed to turn edamame into greasy mush. The miso soup had a thick layer of grease floating on the top and had clearly been sitting somewhere for days. Sushi was meh at best, loved how they don't provide ginger or wasabi. When I asked for a plate, this is the dirty plate they brought me. That is the "clean plate" they brought to my table! I ordered 4 rolls and was only given 3, and when I mentioned my displeasure nobody cared. Loved paying $70 for a horrible experience

Initially I wasn't sure we were even in the right place. Once you walk in though, the inside is exactly what you expect a small town restaurant to feel like, in a good way. My family and I made it in time for breakfast, which I have understood is a fairly new offering of theirs. The breakfast menu is very simple. No pancakes, or French toast or anything like that. You've really just got your option of toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and omelets. I don't think this is a bad thing. More than not I value a short and sweet menu. What caught our eye was the option to get a scone with butter, honey and or jam. We ordered a scone, large biscuits and gravy, the country meal, and the 2 eggs hash browns and toast for our two toddlers. I'd say the food was, just good. There wasn't anything particularly special about it, but it was also not bad by any means. It's totally what I'd expect to be served at a family breakfast or something. I see this as a good thing. No bells and whistles, just good good. That said, the scone was the BOMB .com! Perfectly fried and with some really good jelly it was the perfect way to finish up breakfast. I look forward to coming back in the future (One important thing to note however was the smell upon walking in. I don't know if someone who smokes had just spent a lot of time in the restaurant that morning, or if the building itself has residual smoke smell from back when smoking was legal inside. I hope it's the former. If not, I will have to adjust my review down to 3 stars and I hope they are able to address it)
