Crow Sports has become my absolute go-to for hockey equipment for my kids. As a mom of two boys who play competitive hockey, I can't say enough good things about the service and experience we've had here.
The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and fair, and I really appreciate that they carry a great mix of both brand-new and used equipment. You can go in looking for the newest gear, or you can tell them you're working within a budget and they'll help you find good-quality used options. They're also very particular about what used equipment makes it onto their shelves, so I've always felt confident buying either. Over the years, we've purchased a mix of new and used depending on what my kids needed.
One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is the service. The students and teens working there are sports kids themselves, and they genuinely know what they're talking about. I can literally walk in and say, "He needs a new ___," and they take it from there -- measuring, fitting, checking everything and making sure we leave with exactly what he needs. They'll also give you tips on fitting, adjusting and taking care of the equipment, which is incredibly helpful as a parent.
When my son became a goalie, it was completely new territory for us. They walked me through all of the equipment he needed, helped us get everything properly fitted and adjusted, and answered all of my questions. Having people who actually understood goalie equipment made the whole experience so much easier.
If your child is new to hockey you have no idea where to start, this is exactly the kind of store you want to walk into. Tell them what you need and what your budget is, and you can trust them to help you figure out the rest without making you feel like you need to know everything yourself.
