Baked Seafood Platter TO
Kristen S.

We haven't been to the Crows Nest in about a decade but went today because it was my husbands birthday and he was craving their seafood platter. The restaurant is large and has indoor and outdoor patio seating as well as a bar. It's nicely decorated and is bright and airy and offers views of the marina across the street. There are parking lots on both sides of the building. Since it's been a while since we last visited, we ordered a lot of food: clam cakes, fried mozzarella, calamari, a stuffie, plus a baked seafood platter and a small portion of the baked scrod. We ate till we were full and brought the rest of it home to enjoy later. The food was fresh and delicious and we enjoyed everything EXCEPT the fried mozzarella which was like a super crispy hockey puck - gross.

I celebrated my birthday here just last week. 7/5 We started with the calamari, which was amazing and had fish tacos as the entrée . The service was great. The staff surprised me by singing happy birthday, that was so cute We had a table by the window, which overlooks the water. you have a choice of also sitting outside if you prefer

So good. Visiting the state for the first time and found this gem on Yelp. Staff was kind Ambiance was awesome and views overlook a nice lake. Food - delicious. Lobster roll - 9 out of 10. The bun was delicious and they gave a hefty amount of lobster. Seasoned to perfection Clam cakes- 4 out of 10. Tasted more like a fish fritter with a lot of dough and filling. Baked stuff lobster - 9 out of 10. Would recommend and would have again. Seafood with a red pasta - 9.6 out of 10. My favorite. (I don't remember the name of this dish). Overall delicious and they gave huge portions. Will definitely come back here again.

Crow's Nest was our first stop after flying into PVD for a four-day stay in Mystic, and we're so glad it was recommended! We loved the water views and the quiet, relaxed setting. My husband and I shared the regular fish and chips platter--plenty for two--along with an amazing salad, and I had a cup of chowder. Everything was delicious, and the service was so friendly. A great spot to start our New England getaway!

This is a gem in the area. A classic New England seafood place right by the harbor for the perfect ambience. Charlene was a friendly and perfect server. The calamari was tender and had great flavor. Our main entrees were delicious as well. The fish sandwich was a huge thick piece of cod that was moist and full of flavor. The baked scallops were a classic with rice pilaf and broccoli. We are planning to move up here in a few years and this will definitely be one of our regular seafood spots!

Had a pretty pleasant experience at the Crows Nest. Our work group bombarded them on a Sunday evening with two giant tables, but our server handled that like a pro and was very attentive to our needs and splitting checks etc. the room we were in was nice and had a fun fish tank backdrop. I'm not from RI, so of course I had to order all the foods I can't get in NE. Went with the baked stuffed lobster, it was a great amount of food, and I enjoyed it but after seeing the traditional butter variation had some regret of not going with the classic version. I also enjoyed the creamy NE clam chowder soup. The server talked up most of their sides and could not really give a concrete recommendation for one, so I went with the mashed potatoes, and will say that was the only underwhelming part of the meal, as their was nothing special about them, but I had enough lobster to not worry about eating them. Also enjoyed a classic old fashioned for my drink. Pricing at the time for the lobster was around $55, seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of lobster given.

I'd have never known this place was here!! It's set back along the water and not on a main road. I met a friend for lunch and immediately liked the atmosphere inside. Service was excellent. We each got appetizers and entrees. I thought the clam chowder was pretty good. The clam cakes were a bit chewy but I've never had them before so maybe that's typical. The calamari was tasty. My scallop entree was ok, nothing memorable. I prefer larger diver scallops to the small type used in this dish. I didn't like the mashed squash I chose as my side. The server did say she'd bring something else but I had more than enough food already. My friend really enjoyed the fish tacos. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. I would come back here and would like to try the fish and chips next time.

Eggplant sub

Perfect day to sit outside and eat fish tacos! They were lightly breaded and came with corn salsa and a small sprinkling of homemade coleslaw. My husband enjoyed his eggplant sub which came with fries. Olivia was a sweet waitress and her suggestions help steer us to good choices .

Loved it ! Food was excellent and the service was even better. We went with our little one and the waitress was so good to our baby!

Atmosphere was beautiful, they also have an outdoor patio which is perfect for summer dining! The parking lot was almost full when we arrived and there really wasn't on-street parking available either, luckily one spot opened up for me. Our waitress was polite and attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable time. Food was delicious and they give you warm bread, which I'm a huge fan of! Noise level was a little loud but it was very busy too. I would definitely go back again.

Boiled Lobster

So good! Waitress recommended the blood orange martini. It was delicious. Started with the clam chowder soup. Very good. Then had the lobster. A great meal. I would definitely go back

Ask the Community - Crows Nest

Do they offer gluten free options?

I believe they do. Check on line at crowsnestri.com or call them at (401) 732-6575

Is this restaurant expensive?

No, it's pretty reasonable. The lobster roll, for example, is going to be based on market price, but everything else seemed pretty standard.

Now, the reason you're reading this review- THE FOOD. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with a Caesar Salad. The chicken (photo below) was perfectly cooked, topped with hot honey, slaw, pickles, and ranch then placed on a soft brioche bun. The meal was reasonably priced as well at $33 which included tip. I will absolutely be back to the Shanty next time I'm in town.

We grabbed a drink at the outside bar while waiting for a table, and even with the crowd, our waiter got to us quickly and had our drinks out in no time. We ended up at a table on the grass with a gorgeous view of the boats and marina--it was the perfect setting for a beautiful day. Our appetizers came out in less than 5 minutes, but our food took a little over 30 minutes. I'm aware the main course will take longer to prepare, but it was odd how fast the appetizers came out, so it raised our hopes a bit too much for the main course. My parents got red and white sangria. They were decent, but for $12 a glass it probably wasn't worth it. We got the brussel sprouts and calamari for an appetizer. The brussel sprouts were amazing, but the sauce made it a bit too salty. The calamari was also good, but I've had better, and it didn't even come with peppers. I got the blackened chicken with rice and carrots. The blacked chicken was amazing, I would definitely recommend that. However, the rice was extremely bland and the carrots weren't anything to write home about. My mom got the chicken alla vodka sandwich, which wasn't the best either. There was barely any sauce on the sandwich, and the little that was, was on the very side of the sandwich. She got truffle fries as her side which I thought were super yummy. My dad for the fish n chips, which was good. Overall, the dinner was fine. However, nothing is bringing us back for another meal. The server was very nice and attentive too. Honestly, I'd rather go to Blu on the Water if I was in the area for dinner.
