Crows Nest - Amazing server and service! - Seafood Near Me - Warwick, Rhode Island

Just not good Lobster Mac n cheese had weird sauce off putting orangey red color. Lots of lobster meat though Calamari was tender but very greasy Clam cakes were very good Fish and chips were fine but broccoli au gratin was gray and mushy Baked seafood platter was awful. Cod was good but teeny tiny. Everything else had a big scoop of mushy stuffing. Scallops had turned. I dug through crumbs and took a bite and had to spit out. One and done read more

We made reservations based on other YELP reviews. We arrived for 4PM; there were a few groups but it was not crowded. The main room was open with a high ceiling. It was comfortable. We started with an order of fried calamari for the table. It was breaded rings (similar to what we get frozen in the super market) served with pepperoncini - it was good. For the next course we all got the New England clam chowder ( they have Manhattan as well ). The chowder was creamy and loaded with potatoes. Again it was good. I ordered the shrimp scampi over rice. It was served with a generous portion of shrimp; the shrimp was cleaned and butterflied. The scampi sauce was mild, not oily - I prefer a much stronger garlic flavor. The portion size was large; I brought 1/2 home. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. The scallops in the baked scallop dish were the very small scallops - a nice bread topping. My son finished the entire order. The baked seafood plate was generous - my wife took some home ( I will have to wait to review the stuffie ). read more

Hubby and I went for his birthday dinner tonight. Not our first time since the new owners, but the first time for dinner. I made reservations on line. Something the previous owners didn't offer. The place was packed. They did an amazing job renovating and are in the process of adding an outdoor bar and outdoor seating. Out table was ready and while tiny, we were tucked in a nice quiet corner. Barbara P. Was our waitress. She was wonderful. We started with the Tuna Tower appetizer. We tore into it so fast I forgot to take a picture of it. It was awesome and filling. Hubby ordered the Prime Rib special. I was hesitant in ordering the lobster club sandwich, as while it used to be good with the previous owners, the last few times it wasn't that good. We took four take out containers home. We got a lot of food. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. The Prime Rib special was $24.95. Very reasonable in my opinion. My Lobster Club was well worth $32.95! When our dishes were cleared Barbara and two staff members can over singing Happy Birthday with a dish of ice cream topped with a cute almond flavored cookie! Rarely do we go out to dinner as we love to cook at home, but we will definitely be back! read more

Kris was excellent. Had an opinion when you asked her questions about the menu. Super likable and friendly! Food was hot and fresh.

My first visit since the reopening. They have redecorated with their flare, clean looking. Staff was friendly. We sat at the bar which was half full, tables were full in the bar area and we found it to be terribly noisy, so much so that you couldn't hear the person next to you without tipping your head in. There is nothing to absorb the noise. The new owners are seasoned and should know this. I had chicken piccata which came with a half a pound of pasta and two tiny pieces of chicken for $23. The capers were missing. The fish and chips were good and ample. I will give it another try and hope for a more positive experience. Many happy memories there. read more

I went in yesterday to get stuffed lobsters with my daughter and her friend and we did not like them to the point we had to return them and get a different dish which we did not like either, I believe the new taste has to do with the new ownership because in the past I had the stuffed lobster and was highly satisfied. read more

We live in Florida now. We will be spending a week in Narragansett during the first week in July. For Our first night in Rhode Island, a dinner at the Crows Nest is in order. We could choose to eat in many good restaurants but for the first night it's the Crows Nest. Their food is consistently good. And eating there brings back many good memories of time spent eating there and living in Rhode Island. read more

Been waiting for my fix. Thankfully they are open again after their winter break. Opening day was on point. Delicious!!!

Our first visit since the re-opening. Very welcoming, good menu and good food...the salad and veggie side were so fresh! I appreciate that they now take reservations, and , Gabriella, our waitress, was excellent. The renovations did a good job of keeping the feeling of a clam shack, while making everything new and clean. My only observation for improvement would be that the acoustics are still noisy when the restaurant is full...not sure how you would change it, though, with the high ceilings. We loved being greeted by the smiling faces at the hostess station, too......great job, new owners. read more

Seafood history and lighthouses The Crow's Nest has been around for a long time and it's easy to see why. Tucked a way off of Rt 1, it's not easy to find if you don't know the area but it is definitely worth the effort. It looks rather plain from the outside with some limited views of the cove but the inside is actually quite spacious with a nice bar and several rooms. The table are nicely spaced so you aren't eating with someone's elbows in your face. The menu emphasizes seafood but there are other dishes too. Items change on the menu with the seasons and availability. The food was good but then there are lots of good seafood places in Rhode Island so nothing really stood out. The prices are portions were quite reasonable and our server was very friendly and efficient without being intrusive. One of the things I enjoyed best about the restaurant was the décor. Lots of great lighthouse photos hanging on the walls as well as some very cool, old and historic scenes of the area from the past. The Crow's Nest is a cool, sort of an out of the way place that is pleasant, quaint, reasonably priced and has good food. You even get to look at a whole heap of very cool lighthouses photos while you eat. read more

Love this place for all seasons! The last time we went, we had a most amazing experience! The lobsters we ordered were huge, flavorful, very hard shelled & the best I've ever had. We had to send them in to get them cracked open. The server was friendly & quite helpful. We go out a lot and love seafood, so we have discerning taste. Don't miss the renowned crows nest for great dining fun! read more

This is a 3.5 star review. I've been here a few times and each time, the lobster was succulent and oh so scrumptiously plump. I would have given this place a 4.5 star review had it not been for the service. Our server was not very nice nor was she attentive at all. I understand that it was valentines' day and that it was super busy there, but that doesn't excuse her from being that way. We had to ask her for extra table settings three times before she even thought about getting them for us. Other than the service, I absolutely love this place. It's very scenic as well with boats, waters, and green encompassing the restaurant. It is a bit out in the middle of nowhere, but you usually find the best stuff off the beaten path. The lobster is always fresh, meaty, and cooked just right. There's always a whole lot of meat too and not just the tail or claws. If you're ever in Providence or Boston, stop by. read more

Small local place on the water in Warwick, RI. Recommended by the desk clerk at the hotel. Not a place I would have found on my own. Based on the recommendation and some of the reviews I had high expectations for this place. I'm not sure what has been wrong with me the last few weeks, but my food selections have just proven poor. I ordered the seafood platter, and I should have known better because it was all fried. I don't eat a lot of deep fried food, but the people next to me had it, and it smelled so good. I started with the New England Clam Chowda. This was the dish that the girl at the hotel said was to die for. It was thick and creamy, but I probably saw maybe 1 tiny clam in the whole bowl. Mostly a bowl of diced under done potatoes. I ended up having to use Tabasco sauce to give it any flavor. The seafood platter was cod, shrimp, bay scallops and clam strips. The greasiest thing that I have attempted to eat in the last five years. I love fish and chips, so I figured that at least the cod would be good. How they got the inside so mushy I will never know. You couldn't even cut it, it just mushed out of the coating onto the plate. Pretty much the same for the rest of the food. If this is what they consider great seafood in Rhode Island, give me CA anytime. If not for the atmosphere, location and friendly service this would have been one star. read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone!!! awful seafood. The swordfish was not fresh and tasted awful!!! The stuffed shrimp was also frozen and just awful! the clam chowder was from a can!!! The lobster roll was pricey and it was like packed crab meat!!!! dont go there!!!!!! read more

We were up in Providence, at Hall's on Broadway and started talking about dinner spots with the owner and this was her number one recommendation for simple, local fresh seafood and we are so glad we followed her advice! The entrees all come with a choice of soup, chowder or salad. The New England clam chowder was a very good example-creamy, clamy, chunky. We had broiled swordfish with garlic butter & broccoli gratin and fried clams. All were great sized portions of obviously fresh seafood, simply made with all the flavor shining through. The atmosphere is old school (we were the youngest people in the place!), but we loved admiring the photos of lighthouses. And there is even a view if the water. Service was efficient, everything came out piping hot. If you're in the area-give it a try! read more

Three of us went to the Crows Nest on a Friday night during the summer. The place was packed so we decided to take out instead. The people at the front desk could not have been nicer and took our takeout order right away. Two of us got lobster rolls. At $21.50 each, they were good but no better than what I have gotten for $15 to $18 elsewhere. We also took out clam cakes that were okay but could have used more clams in them and clam chowder that was thick and flavorful. For dessert we took out key lime pie that was a bit creamy and the lime a bit too subtle. The crowd here tends to be older and more laid back...which is not a bad thing in a place this popular. They are on the water but I did not see any outdoor dining. I would definitely give them another try on a less hectic day. read more

The Crow's Nest will leave you wanting more; although the food was good, I was not impressed enough to consider returning. The menu is dominated by seafood, and the portion sizes are reasonable considering the $15-18 price range for most entrees. Personally, I felt each menu item was slightly overpriced, but business is booming for this little restaurant, so they won't be coming down anytime soon. We were hungry, so we set out for an early dinner, arriving around 5:15 PM and both parking lots were nearly full. There is a very large older crowd that seems to come early, for the restaurant cleared out by the time we left. The food came out in a reasonable time after the order was placed, but service was slow and inattentive otherwise. Our waitress seemed slow to take our order and slow to bring the check. I ordered the Seafood Sauté which was pretty good; it had a large variety of seafood. I expected it to come with an Alfredo-based sauce, rather than the thin white sauce that it came with. The white sauce seemed to compliment the fish well, but the pasta tastes very plain by comparison. It was served with a cup of chowder, which was delicious, and dinner rolls were also brought to the table. Overall, the food was good, but the Crow's Nest did not impress me, and I'm unlikely to return. read more

Crows Nest - The Seafood Sauté: priced around $18 and includes shrimp, crab, & scallops as well as your choice of a salad or clam chowder. - Seafood Near Me - Warwick, Rhode Island

Chose the Crows Nest specifically for the outdoor seating near the water. I submitted a reservation online in the morning to ensure I could get a spot for dinner. Arrived ten mins before my reserved time and checked in. At that time I was told it would be a few mins. Ten mins after my reservation time passed and I watched multiple parties walk in and get seated I asked how much longer and at that time I was informed there was no outdoor seating for me. Two larger parties called in and since my reservation was placed online they bumped me. I wish I was informed when they realized they doubled booked me and I could have made alternative plans for another place with outdoor seating. Instead they waited until I was already there and waited ten minutes pass my reservation time. Our server Junior was friendly and attentive. Food was nothing to write home about and we discovered most dishes were made with mayonnaise which is a food allergy for my husband. Doesn't live up to the hype and not worth the hassle. read more

I won't say they have the best fried belly clams (doing so would disrespect my own town's restaurant), but I will say it is on par with the best fried belly clams I have ever eaten. Very fresh food. Just an excellent choice all around. Not far from the airport, jam packed, and excellent fresh food. Must go back next time I'm by PVD. read more

We didn't have a reservation so it would have been a 1hr & 20min wait. But we got lucky and seats opened up at the bar. The food was excellent as well as the drinks. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I guess that's why The place was hopping on a Thursday night. read more
