This place is very solid local bar and restaurant. The food is very good. Convenient location, ample parking and plenty of space inside.

GREAT BURG o my goodness what a great burger! Med well bacon double cheese burg $8 w fries. Holy Toledo it was huge and fantastic! See pic. Been here a million times I remember doing the coal boats over there & coming here for a siesta (I.e. get drunk). Shipping was a romantic business back in the day. The bum boat used to pull up Alongside those CSL boats and it was fun. Didn't know it was a bar until our surveyor Melzo said come on boys let's get a drink. RIP maritime Mel. One of a kind. Had lots of chowder here over the years but we don't get a lot of boats in Bula no more. Cabbage rolls for dinner. The bar has the face shields hanging from the ceiling which is fine but. Someday we get back to normal. Burger was so damn good even a nice bun I had to write it. Great job crows nest 4 stars!

WHAM...!!! Wow! What a delicious meal! I sauntered into the Crow's Nest for the first time this afternoon. What a great experience! The place was very clean, the restrooms, immaculate, and the staff was attentive and friendly. And I could tell this was just a good old fashion American neighborhood bar and restaurant. I ordered the open-faced meatball sandwich. I also had french fries. The french fries were the fresh cut ones, which were quite delicious, better than 90% of the french fries I've had other restaurants throughout my life. I dipped those and a side of mayonnaise, and those alone were awesome. When I received the open-faced meatball sandwich I immediately loved the aroma of the sauce. I wanted to eat a spoonful of just that! This was no average out-of-the jar sauce, it was incredible, like something from an Italian grandma. I took the first bite, and the chew of the bread, the flavor of the meatballs, the delicious provolone cheese, and the (later, I learned, fresh house-made) sauce made me wish I had the honor of being from Ashtabula. Amazing...!!!

Surprisingly nice stop off the highway in middle of nowhere. Had a business lunch, seated instantly. Server was quick and she was nice. My colleague had Fish sandwich which was twice the size of bun! I had Crispy chicken salad which was also humongous. Tons of chicken and honey mustard was tasty. Great value on the sizes. Plus she threw in a few pieces of bread for me. She talked us into splitting the Chocolate Lasagna. That was a great move since it was like a little taste of sublime. Highly recommend. Everything was good, Fine service with simple decor. Nice huge paved lot, and they have a full bar with TVs too. Large portions and Good prices.

Had their great Chef Salad. A great find for $9.99. Two types of cheese, Egg, Turkey and Ham with Ranch Dressing.

Ashtabula original. Good food, friendly service and fair prices. Note that the parking lot is always full with local's cars.

For the price this place works. Wings are very good. Not impressed with the other offerings so I stick to wings and beer here.

The food is just average. My manicotti was frozen, microwaved and barely warm in the center. There's better italian food in Ashtabula.

A lot of people in the party had to use their flashlights on their phones to even see. (It made a lot of us think the lights are dark to not show the food, or so people can get away with doing illegal activities.) Second; the food was subpar, claimed things were fresh when they clearly were not. Soda either didn't have enough flavor, or the machine was broken; everyone was saying how the soda tasted 'soapy'. Also being charged $12+ for small portions, barely any toppings/fillings, or for food that seemed undercooked/burnt. Someone in the party even had a hair in their food! The next couple days, almost everyone in the party started getting sick; not trying to full on blame this place, but it was the common denominator everyone went to. So, if you enjoy not seeing at all and like eating subpar bar food that can potentially get you sick, this is the place for you!

Well one time the late great Maritime Mel said to my brother come on tommy let's get a drink, and walks onboard. MEL! U can't just go on somebody's boat.... ITS A BAR. Christmas lights were up. The Capt was onboard from the laker. This changes everything, a floating bar for the lakers!!!! This was back in the day early 90's. Well. It was on. Sonny II aka the bum boat, used yo shuttle supplies to the lakers all along the harbor. And was a bar for the mens & ladies while alongside. A great seafaring tradition. Sonny B the sister ship is the water taxi up at PIB. Well for many years now at Ashtabula harbor the bum boat is tied up & open to the public fully licensed sit down bar. The owners are really nice. Live music, have a drink. Fairly large menu board too. I didn't know they had food tbh. It was great chili dog. As good & very similar to skyline. If u love shipping, history, music & dranks, and who doesn't in Ashtabula harbor, get ur arse down to the bum boat & have a blast. It's so unique u will never drink in another place like it. circa 1930. BEAUTIFUL NEW SIGN check it out. 5 star dive bar!!
