They were super expensive lenses. Kay took so much time and care to find not just one, but two different frames to pop my lenses into. However, it sounds like they use a portable credit card reader and someone forgot to charge it so they could not run my credit card. They said they would call in 20 minutes. I asked if they could make it an hour. Maggie told me to just call her and gave me the number and told me to hit 4 and then 3 and it would take it to her. Lies! It took me to an automated number with hold music that literally gave me a headache. After 12 minutes, it disconnected me. I never spoke to a person. Then I left a voicemail. I waited and did not receive a call back in 30 minutes. I called back again and was on hold for around 10 minutes again. Finally someone very apathetic answered. I shared what I went through and he was so bland, so bored that I almost hung up. I finally said, "You have 10 minutes to resolve this.After that, I am hanging up and you can consider the order cancelled." In 8 minutes, I bounced to 2 other people before finally reaching someone who took my credit card information. Lousy customer service. Hire better people. Get rid of those who can't remember to charge the card reader and whose best customer service is slow apathy. 70 minutes to pay my bill is ridiculous. This review is specifically for Dr. W. Eric Jones and Fountains Eyecare Center. Dr. Jones is…read moreawesome. He treats you like a patient, not just another "customer" (like eyeglass retail stores do). My wife used to go to other retail eyeglass stores for exams and they push for things she doesn't want or need. But they don't do that at Dr. Jones' clinic. Although the other retail stores have better hours (ex: open on weekends), we still go to Dr. Jones. That tells you how much we like and trust him. He is great and very patient with children as well. The staff is very friendly. The office is very nice and clean. The eyeglasses are designers, but they do have some discounted glasses and we never feel pressured to buy from them. In fact, we have gone to other eyeglass retail stores to buy our glasses, but we always go to Dr Jones for our eye exams. With that said, Fountains Eyecare Center's association changed it's name from "Illinois Eye Surgeons" to "Quantum Vision Centers" after increasing their family of eye care centers to include Missouri facilities (thus the "Illinois" name no longer applied). Ever since then, every time we call, we get a call center in Swansea who schedules all appointments for Quantum. I'm not very crazy about this change because the wait is too long, and it doesn't seem personal. I prefer calling Dr Jones' office directly. Like Frank W said in his review, we also have considered going to a different place because of the changes. But when we found out that Dr Jones is still the doctor for this clinic, we decided to stay. Our satisfaction and trust in Dr Jones and staff is what made us stay with Fountains Eyecare Center. So why did I give this a 5-star review? Because like I said in the beginning, this review is about Dr. Jones and the Fountains Eyecare Center, not Quantum. I do think the recent change might cost them some customers (like Frank W in the other review). But if people are looking for a good Optometrist, the awesome doctor and staff are definitely what is going to keep this office in business.
