Loved living in a crown management managed property. I was at 3599 mission blvd in one of the studios there. They updated it perfectly to make it very practical despite the small size. A neighbors smoke detectors batteries died while he was on vacation and was beeping every few seconds continually. After a quick call to Wendy after hours, she had the maintenance man fix the problem in under an hour. Wendy was always a major help and wasn't bothered by any inquiries I came up with. My roommate and I have rented from Crown Property Management over the past year plus. When we moved in to the unit, the apartment complex was newly remodeled. Great attention to detail in the remodel. The Crown team is very diligent and responds quickly to any issues (all minor) that arouse during our tenancy. The only advise I would give to future renters is to have a strong credit history to be applicable to rent. Which I assume is the case for any nice apartment complex being that they don't want people trashing the place. I am looking forward to renting from them in the future. read more

I rented from Crown Management for about 2 years and had a fantastic experience with them. The apartment had quality appliances, was appropriately priced and in a great location. Wendy has been a dream to work with. She is easy to get a hold of and very kind. After moving (for grad. school), Wendy really helped me out by giving my new landlord a great reference. It's so important to rent from quality people, and with all of those awful property management companies out there I'm so glad that I've found them. They are consistently responsive to any requests for maintenance and treat tenants with respect. They also screen for good tenants so you won't be living next to a noisy nightmare. While searching for a place to live in San Diego, they gave me a comprehensive list of incredible properties that were reasonably priced and strategically located on the beach. I would recommend contacting them not only for their amazing rental properties, but for their knowledge and help with navigating the difficult rental market in San Diego. Finding a place to live here is hard, particularly if you are moving from out of state! Unfortunately, anything that is worth living in San Diego is usually gone in a matter of days, sometimes hours. By chance, I actually ended up renting my home outside of crown management, but I don't think securing the home would have been possible without their guidance. I recently renewed my lease with Crown Management and couldn't be happier. When you meet Patrick during your initial tour of the property, you're immediately welcomed by his friendly and inviting personality. Patrick was very upfront with everything and made sure I was completely aware of all the details of the unit. I was fortunate enough to get the property tour the same day their contractor was finalizing renovation plans for my unit, so Patrick even allowed me to provide some design input (this sold me on Crown before I even signed the lease!). Within a few hours of the tour, Wendy was in contact finalizing the lease process. A day or two later I was in their office signing the lease. It was so easy! I've been in this unit for over a year now and the few times I've made a maintenance request the issues have been personally addressed by Wendy and/or Patrick and taken care of within a couple days. I can only recall once where they requested to come into the unit (property appraisal) and afterward Wendy wrote an email to me thanking me for allowing them into my home and complimenting me on my furnishings--fantastic service! All in all, the care that Wendy and Patrick provide to their tenants and their properties is second to none. We have all had to deal with slimy, socially awkward, creepy property managers in the past and thank the stars, this is not the case with Crown Management. I can confidently say that I will stay with Crown as long as I am a renter (have you seen the pictures of their properties?!). 5 stars. Great job, Crown! read more

I was a tenant of crown management for two years. They are the best management company out there! Most companies treat their tenants awful, are unresponsive, and disorganized. We rented with Crown Management for 5 years. There are a lot of things they were satisfactory with, but in general they treated us like we were irresponsible college students for no reason. Patrick acted like their units were the creme of the crop and we should be SOO lucky to be renting from them, when they were generally far from it. We rented 2 different units in North PB over the span of 5 years. We always paid our rent on time and if we were cutting it close we dropped it off personally to their office in La Jolla. They expected us to answer our phones every time they called with an issue, like if they needed to get into our unit for electrical or roofing fixes for instance, yet never answer their own phone and call back when it's convenient for them. We are in our early 30s now, renting from them since our late 20s. We have jobs. We could not be on call for them, and who really can be? They acted like we should be easier to get a hold of when they clearly are not. For example, when we moved from one unit to the other they called giving us a hard time about not dropping off our old keys - again, like we were idiots and irresponsible. My husband told them I dropped them off in their mail slot and after going through the envelopes again, they indeed found them. Why they can't just talk to people with respect and common courtesy I don't know. Then they claimed we didn't clean the apartment well enough and since they couldn't get a hold of either of us immediately, they hired a cleaning service which would come out of our deposit. They based this on the TOP OF THE REFRIGERATOR having dust!!! Everything else, baseboards, showers, cupboards, etc. was immaculate. We even touched up the walls where there were scuffs. When we talked to the cleaning woman, she agreed that she didn't need to be there but was hired to clean x, y, and z so was doing it all anyways. After a lot of arguing with Crown, we didn't have to pay for the additional cleaning, but why couldn't they have at least waited to talk to us, even give us 30 min to return their call about the top of the refrigerator having dirt on it, before calling a cleaning service I don't know. They freaked out over everything yet they were very difficult to get a hold of!! I will say when they had the roof redone and the tar machine was parked in our parking spot for 24hrs w/o any notification, and the fumes were coming into our apt. through our back window, they gave us a night of rent for free and answered our call about it immediately. We were not happy about breathing that crap in all night, but at that point the roofing crew was already gone for the day and they didn't know how to move it or where they could store it. I was not pleased and I still wonder what breathing that crap did to us, but at least they were willing to compensate us somewhat. Overall we are very happy to be renting from someone else and know that whenever we move out, it won't be such a freaking fiasco!! And since they require really good credit ratings to live in their properties in the first place, obviously they only rent to people that have been very responsible in the past. Lousy landlords. Responded promptly when their property was in danger from rain flooding, but when it came to other issues -- fridge parts broken by the previous tenants, a serious recurring mold problem, the legally mandated move-out inspection -- they would simply never respond to calls, or would make promises and never follow through. I'm not being hyperbolic; for example, after a year and roughly twenty messages left on the office answering machine, the fridge was never fixed. Dealing with them made our lives miserable, and we were delighted to get out of there the second the lease ended. read more

This is by far my favorite property management company in San Diego! They have excellent customer service, online portals for any issues within the buildings, online rent payment, and a lot of their places allow a cat. I've lived in a crown apartment on and off for several years and always had the nicest and accommodating experiences from Wendy, Patrick and Zack and any of the other people that had to fix or come in at any time. They are extremely prompt if you need to get a toilet fixed or even break a lease. The team will bend over backwards for you if you are a good tenant, and I value that very much!! Wendy even supplied me with a recommendation letter for a new apartment (in another city, otherwise, I would not leave!!!) The places are all so nice inside and they care about things looking nice. They even have an instagram and are tech savvy with their docusign leases and online rent pay.
