Check & check from Cornman Farms! The food was honestly so so delicious - we had the: *Thanksgiving Turkey (Our turkey is brined in thyme, sage, rosemary, garlic, shallots, juniper berries and black pepper then cooked sous vide for 24 hours to slowly develop the flavor, growing juicy and succulent along the way. The turkey is served semi-deconstructed with the turkey crown separated and wishbone removed. The legs, thighs and back meat are all hand-pulled for easy display and serving. This will be the most delicious turkey your family has ever tasted. ) - they had portions for 4 or 8 so we got the 4....it was PLENTY of food even though it didn't seem like it at first. No dry turkey for us this year as this was wonderfully succulent indeed! *Crookneck Squash Soup ( Crookneck squash is at its peak in late November and is our favorite choice for our creamy squash soup. Its deep orange color, sweet and nutty flavor is the perfect start to your Thanksgiving feast!) - Kind of like a butternut squash soup and this was sooo silky, luscious with a touch of sweetness. I was obsessed with this soup! *Crispy Stuffing (Our immensely flavorful and crispy breadcrumb stuffing is made with sage, thyme, rosemary, onion, garlic, celery and leeks. This stuffing is made with meat stock.) - my only complaint is that I should've ordered 2 of these!! This was so great - no soggy stuffing from Cornman! *Turkey Gravy - It came with a really great guide on re-heating and timing. So clutch and we followed it to a tee for a perfect Thanksgiving meal. I also will note - I forgot to order an item and THEN a week later, I asked to move up my pick up time. Each time, Tabitha responded IMMEDIATELY and was so kind about it. So shout out Tabitha! FYI - they moved the pick up location! It's actually fairly intuitive as it's now in the main barn. It was really nice that they had hot tea and coffee available for free as it was frigid out. What a nice touch. Will definitely be ordering again from Cornman Farms!

Happy ten year anniversary Cornman Farms!! What a fabulous space with wonderful food programming…read moreand a fantastically caring team. We had our "elopement" package wedding here and it was such a smooth and easy experience from start to finish, with an online portal to log communications and action items. The CMF team kept us organized with to do lists, and were quickly responsive to any questions. They were kind, courteous, and professional. Even though it is their day to day job, they really modeled the enthusiasm and care for our event as if it was just as special to them as it was to us! I love that the elopement package really included everything - florals, photography, dinner, cake, event coordinator, officiant, etc, so that we didn't have to really plan or figure out any outside vendors. The sit down dinner menu was curated with our input, featuring farm to table chef creations. Just an example of the level of customer service - my mother in law really loved the fennel fried broccoli we had with dinner. I messaged the team after our wedding on Instagram just noting that we loved it and wondering if they might share a hint on how it was prepared so we could attempt to recreate (and of course would have understood if they couldn't share any info)... they ended up emailing me the actual recipe and were glad we loved! Besides our wedding, we have also enjoyed visiting for their food pop ups! The fish and chips dinner is huge and tasty, and we have loved the pie and mash as well. They have a nice online shop where you can order food and beverage items to go as well as other merchandise. We also love that we can get a slice of our wedding cake (a classic Zingerman's flavor) from the bakehouse more or less whenever we want :). Overall, what makes this venue stand out the most is their people and their kindness in genuinely wanting people to have great experiences here. Highly recommend!

The reception was inside the Raisin River Room and it was adorable! The tables were smaller but fine. They had boosters and highchairs already at the tables for guests with children which was thoughtful. The food was AMAZING. I loved everything I ate (sorry I didn't take pics but I was having such a good time!) The staff was so kind and professional. I used to be a server for events like this so I know what their protocol is but man, it's still annoying when they clear your water glass by 8pm if you're not sitting down. I was also interested as to why the tables were laid out how they were because the reception was not having any dancing but there was a big open space that could have spaced out the tables more comfortably. Oh well. I'd love to attend another event there and see inside the Carriage House

The options we had were the chef carved tenderloin of beef, panko encrusted cod, and the herb roasted rosemary chicken. Service is top notch and the decor was both tasteful and beautiful. We had a Star Wars/Super hero theme which they helped us create. Star wars movies played behind the bar all night. The second time we came here was for my baby shower and again everyone raved about the food. They are extremely organized and every detail is thought of. We also come here every year for Mother's day. The brunch is out of this world. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a great event venue. You wont be disappointed.

First - you deal with the daughter when setting up to host your event. She's personable…read moreaccommodating and explains things. However, the owner is the one at the event and he's not approachable, rude to guests, has an excuse for everything and honestly, is a complete douche. You're running a business that depends on pleasant interaction and the comments made to or about people (states kids shouldn't be at weddings) is mind blowing. The event I was recently at, the bartender was even worse. He was never behind the bar, stating he was "cleaning" which meant he was running around eating the chicken tenders that were put out for guests and had the mind set to scream F-bombs from across the dance floor in front of kids between 4 - 10 (stand-up guy right there) I get it, life choices and all have led to this job of bartending at events but when you don't know how to approach people, when your go to is to scream and cuss in front of small children maybe it's time to re-evaluate those choices. This would go on until someone asked why he wasn't checking IDs and how his underage daughter was getting glasses of wine (IDs were checked for the final hour of the event) Jumping over to the food - normally it's spot on. This night it wasn't that good. The choice of beef was over cooked, the sauce for the noodles was runny and watered down and the meatballs had cold areas within them. The AC was kicking for a 50-degree day and when several of the guests asked if it could be shut off that non approachable owner stated that wasn't going to happen. Did I mention what a standup guy John is for a business that depends on customer service? This place used to be a great venue. The last few years I get the impression it buys into its own hype and feels it doesn't need to do anything to better itself. Honestly, I think this place could use some upgrades, probably with ownership - or keep the owner away from people and let the daughter run it from top to bottom. The last couple of years I've been looking at other places when I need to host a venue- while this place used to be on top it's now sliding off my list. There are other places that actually want the business, are accommodating and know how to approach people when needed. They don't stand there trying to look menacing with their arms akimbo while glaring at the guests like this owner does, reminding everyone he'd much rather be at home screaming at small children to stay off his lawn.

More important to you, it's nestled in a beautiful neighborhood about one mile to most elements of the U of M central campus. So you can walk, if you're so inclined, and five to ten minutes in a car gets you to any number of important or interesting places. Parking is on the street, which turned out to be no problem, as there always were plenty of spaces near the entry sidewalk. Perhaps it's helpful to say that the Stone Chalet campus is the site of a former Unitarian church. That's how I remember it, driving/jogging by during student years. Therese remembers it was the site of piano recitals. Anyway, the former "main building" has been converted to an event center (we didn't spend much time there) and the former parsonage converted to guest quarters. Our room was Alice-in-Wonderland themed, spacious and cozy for an autumn visit. Breakfast was ordered via an app, with many choices, including gluten-free options for Therese. If you want a good and even inspiring conversation, seek out the owner Vincent, who can share some fascinating stories about real estate and his efforts to purchase, maintain, and make profitable the Stone Chalet property. We enjoyed our time here, and wish Vincent, Daisy, family and staff, all the best. Thank you, Stone Chalet.

One time, a friend visiting me wanted to go go-karting so I bought us tickets. It was $25/person to go around about 7 times. I was given a kart that couldn't turn right unless it super slow so I had to slow down drastically every time. I eventually got ran into which put my kart out of commission for the rest of the rounds. It was no fun at all and I should have been offered a refunded since I couldn't even do the activity I paid for properly. I've also done this selfie golf which is okay but it just wasn't for me. I could tell it wasn't well cleaned or maintained. I've tried both of the bars which had great bartenders both times. The drinks are way overpriced just as the food is as well. It's about $25 for some chicken wings which they didn't even bother to try to make look good on their menu. Your first time there, you have to spend a minimum of $20 just to get a pass and some of the popular games aren't even working properly. You can get this thing called a rainbow pass where you can play certain games unlimited for a set period of time but it limits you to only the shooting and driving games which get tiring after 15 minutes. Overall, I really wouldn't suggest people going here unless you want to take a loan out for mid-tier games and overpriced food.

I came here to attend the wedding of a friend of mine last weekend. From the outside, it's a pretty unsuspecting building - kind of looks like your typical, kinda boring event hall. Nothing spectacular. But when you pull open those double doors..... You get your breath taken away. Intricate molding, lots of ornate lighting... The place is just GORGEOUS. I was truly blown away. The building is also freaking HUGE. My friend and her husband are both Lebanese, so they naturally had a humongous wedding (over 700), and they all fit inside that building. I was informed by another friend of mine, also a guest at the wedding, that she had recently been to another wedding at Bint Jebail that was over 900 guests. Holy crap that place holds a lotta people. The place is seriously beautiful. If you have the chance to check it out by being invited to an event there, take advantage of it. It's amazing!
