The kids section was spacious & had a big padded seating area. A staff member went around to keep it neat. I love that they had a lot of Ooly brand items. We ended up purchasing a book and small game. The staff we encountered at checkout was fine & gave a straightforward experience. It's an enjoyable stop to look around when visiting the Palladio.

I mean like a Barnes & Noble kitchen with sandwiches, burgers, pastas and even ribs - with separate seating and everything. The inside is massive, but organized and well stocked. I liked seeing the big book displays and the different sections they created. The kids area was also really nice and welcoming. While we didn't check out the cafe as we had just eaten lunch, we did buy a few books for our daughter. We could have spent hours here, but sadly we had to drive home. Staff were very friendly and helpful! You could always find at least one employee walking around in each section which I really liked. Overall, this is an amazing location! I highly suggest stopping in if you're in the area - buy a book and grab some lunch! Can't wait to come back next time we are in Folsom!

Then check out the Friends of the Library Bookstore. It's located inside the Folsom Public Library building. They sell all sorts of categories. Children, cookbooks, young adults, sci fi, mystery, and nonfiction. Plus CD, DVDs, and audio books. Prices range from free ( aha... giving it away with nothing asked in return kind of free), a quarter to $3. When they have the monthly pop up sales, recently decommissioned library books are 10 for $1. Yes... I did a double take too. 10 books for $1!! The proceeds goes back into the library programs. For up to date store hours and info on the monthly pop up sale, check out the website.

I purchased 8 beautiful cards the sweet volunteer mentioned were all handmade by locals for $3.00 each! The receipt wouldn't print, but I didn't need one! My 5 year old received the Amazing Animals book from their Free Books basket(1 book per child) she recommended as well! I would definitely recommend paying a visit to this non-profit organization that opened it's doors in the year 1990, all run by volunteers, all items generously donated and all staff volunteers! Each sale of course goes towards the library, they accept donations for gently used books, DVDS, CDs and audio books as well! In fact we'll be stopping by this morning to donate some children's books and purchase some Handmade Father's Day cards as well to help support our favorite library! :-)

I've struggled to appreciate this bookstore, which is difficult to say because not only do I LOVE…read morebookstores, I also worked at one for 10 years as I went through high school and college so my loyalty to small independent bookstores is hard to challenge. I have read the comments about the bookstore owner being rude, and I disagree- perhaps a stoic or quirky personality but I too was given his speech about books sleeping and I've heard him say it to others and I find it a gentle way of him asking people to be kind to his most prized possessions. My issue is more around the vibe of the entire experience of walking through the door, shopping, then leaving. I guess you could say I am, like so many others, a conditioned human. The quintessential "ring the bell and the dog salivates" kind of conditioned. I'd like a place to sit, I'd like the room temperature to be mildly cozy (not cold), perhaps some compelling displays of interesting novels, some houseplants or a bookstore cat, I'd like some quiet jazz music to entice me into believing I'm having a moment of indulgence of which I should buy a book as a memory. Anything. But, this bookstore is none of that. I've heard some chit chat about this store being for *real* book enthusiasts who don't need any of that charm to shop. That's fair. This bookstore has a way of sorting out those who want a bookstore shopping experience, and those who need a book and want to get in and out quickly.

Yes I fascinated by this book, when there used be Food Bank in Sparks, Nevada, one of the post cards they sent me was of Tahoe Tessie with his family on I think is call Lake Tahoe. The father sunning himself, the mother and babies swimming in the lake! Wow, so is equivalent to Loch Ness Monster! Again, glad the owner of another store in Auburn sent me here! I highly recommend this bookstore! Ah yes, my previous of this has for USEFUL, FUNNY, COOL total of twenty seven votes!

They talk, read, study, meet up, and exist together for a while. There's a different energy here that makes you want to slow down and be part of it. I love this place!!!!! There's more than just coffee and books here; there's a little community. There's a bulletin board filled with flyers for local happenings, book clubs, celebrations, etc. I came here one weekend to study and it, thankfully, wasn't too busy. The cashier was friendly and welcoming, there's WiFi, and a fair amount of seating. I can see this place getting packed during peak hours. One thing I noticed right away was a small book club meeting happening near where I was working. It helped me relax while I was focusing on my work! I think that's why so many of us like working in coffee shops... you can be alone while still feeling connected to other people around you. I'll definitely be back, not just for the coffee, but for the genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Thanks !

I originally went into find a book called before the coffee gets cold and ended up finding another selection that was recommended by one of the staff members called hot chocolate on Thursday. Once I had made my purchase I decided I wanted to really be immersed in the space and in one of my pictures you can see that I got a iced coffee with a blueberry scone. Both of the food items were perfect. The coffee had an amazing taste to it and the scone was unbelievably like perfectly buttery and not overly run by sugar even though it had sugar on it it just was perfectly balanced. The thing that I really enjoyed about this bookstore though was that it made me feel safe. I am part of the lgbtq+ community and being there made my soul and heart happy. I was surrounded by my community and I could tell just how happy they were. There was a group of folks in the middle tables starting to get ready for a small event it look like an art drawing event. The way they talked with each other and just the smiles they had on their faces made me smile so big. This place is a true gem within the area and if you ever have a chance to come in here to just be in a space of warm and belonging please do. And like I said the food they provide is super tasty and they have an array of selections regarding books and they can even order stuff online for you if they don't have it for pick up later. Hands down really really love this place.
