If I were to write it all out, I don't know that it would carry the depth of significance my reiki…read moresession has made in my life. First, I will say that I was not familiar with reiki at all. As a human, I am an enneagram type 8, very logical, often skeptical, and trust my gut more than any word or image anyone can show me. That said, I also believe we (collective humans, our earth and everything else on this planet) are matter. We are made up of atoms which is energy/matter. I am no scientist so I may have the verbiage off, but you get my gist. With that, I believed the fundamentals of reiki must do SOMETHING because it is all about energy. That said, my mind was blown and heart was SEEN without any prior personal information shared. I am a guarded person. I do not let my self show easily, even with my closest people. It is not intentional, it is just how I am after life has happened. In this studio, and in Angela's presence... there was a peace that is hard to put to words. A safety. A calm. A freedom for vulnerability. Now comes the MINDBLOWING stuff: it was as if Angela read my diary - except I do not have a diary. And not in weird or vague ways, but very specific, pointed intuition/knowing about me. There were some deeply personal wounds that she sensed, and so delicately inquired about, and I felt OKAY with it. It was a if the "stars aligned" and in that moment, it was okay to address it. In a few things, she used the *exact* words or phrases that have either been in my mind or that I have spoken to my best friend about. Not your everyday conversation or topics. It was certainly a divine appointment and while I didn't even THINK I would leave there "feeling" better, I left feeling SO many things: better, lighter... LIGHTER, even happy and excited (which is not my norm). I left feeling SEEN by my diety and I am still awe-struck by the entire event. I have continued to talk about it with a couple friends and even blogged about it - but I continue to ponder it and be affected by it in a positive manner a few days later. This is not for someone who is coming to expect to control the outcomes. I went in with my mind open and heart semi-open - and I feel like I left wide open and ready for positivity, change, and hope. I can't thank Angela enough for being in this place, at this time. It has changed me.

In short he was struggling and began acting out in a number of ways. Ways not typical of who he is and was as a person. We identified this through some very apparent, key events that took place in his life. In briefing, our son was headed toward a path of disaster and laced with confusion, frustration, betrayal, trust & love issues and you name it. All while his body is physically morphing into manhood. He was a mess. We were afraid for his future and became a mess with him. His mother would sob at night. We felt bad for him but also knew if we didn't help him find his path it could be disastrous for his future. A lot of people thought he was dark or hopeless but those who knew him closely, knew he was a special human loaded with potential and greatness. It just needed to be harnessed. That's when we connected with Ben Murphy, one of the best things that ever happened for our family. Our son has been seeing Ben regularly for over a year and couldn't be better. I mean a complete turn around. I think it took a few months before actually noticing real difference in attitude and his increased optimism with life in general. (Without ANY medications or drugs) our son genuinely was able to work through some key issues he was having because of Ben's work. I highly recommend Ben Murphy for any family counseling needs, specifically troubled youth or youth issues, he was an answer to prayer. Also just a solid human being in general who is the real deal. We have had our son continue to see him weekly for over a year and he actually looks forward to their weekly meeting. Even though we feel like our son is on the right path and doing great we are continuing our commitment to having him meet regularly with Ben as we believe it has changed his life.
