Buddy is my best friend, my kids, and I wanted him to get the help he needed to feel more comfortable and safe around others. After discussing my concerns with David, he assured me that Buddy was already better behaved than many dogs he'd worked with and that the program would help him. However, my trust in David turned into a nightmare. On day 10, he called to tell me that Buddy had RAN AWAY during off-leash training. Shockingly, this off-leash training was done in front of his house on the street, not in a safe, gated area. My kids and I rushed over immediately and searched everywhere, but Buddy was nowhere to be found. For two weeks, I believed David was actively looking for Buddy, but it soon became clear he wasn't making any real effort. I asked for a refund, which is the least he could do after losing my dog. First, he said he needed a few weeks to process it, but then he stopped responding altogether. He no longer answers my calls or texts, and I never got my money back. This experience has been devastating for me and my family. We lost Buddy because of David's negligence, and he has shown no accountability or compassion. Please, don't make the same mistake I did.

BEWARE! Where to begin... this was the biggest mistake that I've made as a dog owner and it will…read moretake me a very long time to trust anyone with our pups again. David had our two dachshunds (10 mo old and 2 year old) at his facility for 3 weeks of board-and-train to help them with basic obedience and to help them be less reactive. Breezy, our oldest, has anxiety which he was made aware of. Benny, our youngest, was starting to take on some of those traits. That's what pushed us towards this investment-- to give them a happier, more stress free life and give them confidence. While they were gone, I didn't get any updates unless I asked. Got one batch of photos where Benny's body wasn't visible. He gave me generic answers about how they were doing. When it came time for them to come home, he asked for a couple more days to continue the work. We said sure. When he dropped them off, I experienced a nightmare that I don't wish on anyone. Benny was a skeleton. Malnourished, dehydrated, the tips of his ears were bleeding, dried blood on his face, sores on his body, he's lost his voice so his bark is a cough, he didn't have the energy to even jump up on the couch. Sores from an e-collar. Breezy lost weight as well. Looked at me like he barely recognized me. It was JARRING. I gasped out loud, panicked, called my partner and told him to come immediately cause someone had hurt our dogs. This man returned our dogs bleeding, skinny, depressed... and acted like nothing was up. Kept them for 2 extra days... just to neglect them??? (Just want to mention here that I don't know if they learned anything while they were gone because they've been asleep for 16+ hours.) After grilling him extensively about what all of the wounds were, we finally ended the conversation and took them to the ER. The vet's report was rough. They have a long journey ahead and she made it very clear that they were under very questionable care. We are devastated. He's refusing any refund and claiming that Benny simply was nervous and not very hungry. Vet says he's at a DANGEROUS weight. Never did he say anything was wrong with the boys. I never would have left them under his care if he was honest about their condition. I know that boarding isn't for every dog. But he did not have to pretend like they were doing well. We could have come to get them at any hour, any day, no questions asked. He let them get sick. We have yet to see their old personalities come out and I feel like I've betrayed them and put them in very bad hands. It's traumatic. Nobody signs their dogs up for neglect! We have more testing to get done today but I couldn't wait to load this review. I'm absolutely terrified thinking that someone may hire this man and end up devastated like our family. David is brushing this off as a lesson he can learn. But this is a moral issue. His moral compass with animals is severely off. Here are photos of how the pups left and how they came back. Please take this warning. Do. Not. Hire. I trusted good reviews and he took advantage of our trust. Animal Control has been contacted and we will be taking legal action. **EDIT** I'm back two days later to update that he has confirmed (!) pneumonia.
