When I checked in, I was told they had to "start over" because he had an accident in his crate, and at pickup, rather than offering advice, the groomer yelled across the parking lot that my dog was "wild" and suggested I sedate him before his next visit. Puppies deserve positive first experiences, not criticism for acting like puppies. Since then, he's had four grooming appointments elsewhere and has done remarkably well, confirming that the issue wasn't my puppy--it was the lack of patience, professionalism, and customer service.

That kind of accountability matters to me. As a small business owner myself, I know the difference between a shop that does not care and a shop dealing with a new hire's mistake, and I am not going to tank someone's business over the second one when the owner stepped up the way she did. I've been coming to Pawlish Paws for over 15 years, and they have always provided good service…read moreuntil I brought my Bernadoodle in for grooming. My son brought our Bernadoodle in to be groomed, and they convinced him that he was matted and required a summer cut. My son reluctantly agreed, and they completely shaved him. To do a summer cut requires no finesse in grooming, and they charged me $189 for a cut that took less than 15 minutes that is no different than a farmer shearing his lambs. Here is a picture of what matted hair looks like, and pictures of my dog before his summer cut. If you look at his summer cut, check out his ears and tail, you can see they did take the time to brush out. Which means they were too lazy to accommodate us. I also pointed out to them that when I brought him there last year, they were accommodating to my request of a trim and could pull up the record on their system. They made the excuse that they couldn't do it because their system was in transaction mode. I question their integrity because they used to list the prices of the services they provided. Now they can subjectively name their prices. I expressed my concerns, and this group of employees quickly dismissed me, saying my pet was a big dog, therefore it cost more, no bigger than my Huskies, which I paid far less for grooming. If you have experienced this type of customer service, stand your ground and demand that they meet your needs/desires for your pet's grooming. What happened to that friendly family atmosphere?
