Most recently, I brought my cat in for an eye issue and was quoted over $600 for an exam, sedation, tests, and medication. The price immediately felt extremely high, especially for an eye infection, so I decided to call another veterinary clinic to compare. The other clinic examined both of my cat's eyes, and the total cost came out to under $120 including medication. They also determined that sedation was not necessary at all. My cat was calm, friendly, and even purring during the exam, which made me question why sedation was being pushed so strongly at the first clinic. This clinic does not allow pet owners to accompany their animals due to "safety protocols," so it left me wondering how my cat was being handled during the visit. Another frustrating part of the experience is that you don't actually speak directly with the doctor. All communication goes through the technician, who goes back and forth between you and the doctor. As a pet owner, I would much rather speak directly with the veterinarian responsible for my pet's care, instead of receiving information through a middle person. At the other clinic, the doctor was with me during the entire exam, explaining everything step by step, which felt much more transparent and reassuring. What also shocked me was that they mentioned charging a fee for each CPR attempt in case of an emergency. As a worried pet owner, hearing about additional charges like that felt extremely discouraging and overwhelming. Isn't the priority supposed to be protecting the life of the animal under their care? This unfortunately isn't my first bad experience here. During a previous visit, my cat needed a cast. After the procedure, she was still sedated and very sleepy, and the cast fell off immediately after we got home. She had barely moved, so it clearly wasn't my fault or my cat's fault. I called the clinic hoping they would fix it since it appeared to be an issue with how the cast was applied, but they charged me again to redo it. At the time I didn't push for a refund because my cat's wellbeing came first. Looking back now after this second experience, I truly feel I deserve a refund for that cast, since the issue was not caused by anything I did or by my cat. I do want to say that the front desk staff have always been kind and supportive, and I appreciate them. However, overall my experiences with this clinic have been very disappointing. I care deeply about my cat and want a veterinary office that is honest, transparent, and focused on the animal's wellbeing, not adding unnecessary services that dramatically increase the bill. There are other veterinary clinics in the area that provide great care without making pet owners feel this way. I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to treatment here.

We had to drive outside of our normal service area at 3 AM because I was extremely concerned about my dog, and the staff immediately made us feel welcome and cared for. A special thank you to the front desk receptionist, who was incredibly sweet, compassionate, and reassuring. Her kindness made a difficult and scary situation feel a little easier, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about my dog and our family. The entire team was professional, attentive, and thorough throughout our visit. I truly appreciate the care we received and would absolutely return to Petemerg in the future. The doctors are knowledgeable and have such a wonderful bedside manner. They know how to make the baby and parents feel more at ease. The prices, ya, they're expensive. But it's emergency services. The hospital is new, and super clean. We've been twice, and hopefully we don't need to return, but in the event that we do, we will for sure come back to PetEmerg.

My dog stepped on something in grass that swelled up his little foot very quickly. When we got home…read moreI put some triple antibiotic ointment on his paw and wrapped it with some gauze and put a sock on so he wouldn't mess with it. He was really upset but not behaving differently. He slept and moved around from bed to bed for the next 3 hours until he came up to me and I took a look at his paw and it was super swollen. So I decided to take him to a vet just in case it was infected or something really bad. I got to the Emergency Animal Clinic at 11 and I had to wait an hour and a half in my car with only 2 pets ahead of us. There were a 2 emergencies that came during, so I can understand the long wait. While we were waiting his swelling went down a lot, but his skin was still very red, so I didn't want to chance it. Finally we were called in, only to wait another 40 minutes in the exam room. When the doctor finally came in she asked me to put him down and see him walk around. My little man is a Chihuahua mix so he's obviously scared of everything, but she said "since he's concerned about what's going with me in the room I'm going to take him to the back to take a look". I thought this was really odd since I could easily hold him while she exam his little paw, but hey she's the doctor. Another thing I found weird was that she wouldn't take him back herself, instead she had a tech come and get him. Okay sure. After examining him, she comes back and says she didn't see a stinger or anything but she's going to give him an anti-inflammatory injection and a pain med injection. She was about to walk away when I asked the prices and she wasn't too sure and said it's in the system but it will be an extra $150 on top of the $90 exam fee. My little man does not seem to be in much pain, if at all and he hadn't tried to lick the whole wait, so I told her that he fine and doesn't need either. She just walked away and told the tech "take him back". I get that his injury wasn't that bad compared to what they must see every night but that long of a wait is ridiculous and $90 just to be checked out, wow Besides all of that their people skills could really use some help. They are very monotonous or sound very tired, which I get but you still have a customer service job to do. Will most likely not come back, unless last resort option. Thanks for reading my rant.
