Dr Thompson is a very kind, wise and sweet caring physician…read more Dr Thompson even came to my father's home one night later in evening to help my father after a serious injury and was having symptoms. For Dr Thompson I give him 4 stars for his ability to practice while struggling with Parkinson's disease and the difficulty being able tolerate his bossy rude and very unprofessional wife Sara. Be prepared if you call the office, Sara will be sure to be terrible to you, she will talk so fast you cannot understand her, and she will not be considerate to your needs. When you make an appointment and come into the office expect the same rude and unprofessional behavior. For example, if she knows you, don't expect any polite conversation or her to ask in a general fashion " Hello Mr so and so, how are your doing this morning?". She will however not acknowledge you are a human being, she will treat you worse than a bad pet and talk so fast and mumble something you can't understand or boss you around. Dr Thompson- I encourage you to keep practicing but without your wife ever talking , ever answering and never have any patient interaction. Better yet, do not have her in the medical office at all. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, compassion and in a genuinely caring and kind manner. Every body has a bad day but she is is truly unlike any person I have ever encountered in my over 30 years in a medical profession. God bless you Dr Thompson and thank you for all you have done for our family.

After a phone conversation with the offices of this practice regarding the unnecessary blood test…read more Which was 2 test last year (after stateing would be going to Medicare in 4 months only needing 4 months of refile approval) was denied and then promptly requiring7 test this time and a mandatory office visit for a prescription refile. Wow that's putting it to us. As we noted the cost would be more than the prior times at 700.00. Did our own blood test thru healthonelabs.com 99.00 When asked why a in person visit was needed as the blood work would be done. It was said quality service. I mentioned more like you want the money, going there in person was not necessary, but would be in order to collect the fees. I was told you can always go to SEAMAR. As it was cheaper and they would do refiled without a visit. Well that was strange reply. As I'm sure if I had never been there they would in fact not do so. What she was implying was that they have lower standards. Which was no even close to what not questions was about. She was just not going to admit that a policy of there's was in fact a way of making money. And if you cant a afford it then your welcome to go else where. Susan's words. This place is about there way or high way. We wont be using them when it is time to assign a practinure to new Medicare policy. There are other doctors that are part of Medicare supplement programs in anacortes that are not part of anacortes family practice.

I grew up going to Anacortes Family Medicine. I saw Dr. Stalsbroten, who is now retired. In more…read morerecent years, I have seen Tari Roche. Both doctors are excellent. Inside Anacortes Family Medicine, the staff is very nice and helpful. The front desk helps with anything you need. The nurses are great, and the doctors tend to run mostly on time. I've rarely had to wait too long - there are exceptions, but emergencies do come up. The clinic is a part of Island Hospital, and they are only a few blocks away from the Island Hospital ER. This is good because sometimes situations call for an ER visit, and the doctors have referred me down there on a handful of occasions throughout my life. Since they are affiliated with Island Hospital, they have good access to specialists for situations calling for one, as well as special testing done in a lab. They use the lab at Island Hospital. There is not one inside the clinic. There is an urgent care facility housed in the same building as Anacortes Family Medicine, and if Anacortes Family Medicine cannot fit you in to see a doctor, the urgent care can - there just might be a bit of a wait. This is very convenient. I highly recommend Anacortes Family Medicine!
