At 82, I went to Capstone Physical Therapy following an accident that re-injured my left knee--the…read moresecond fall on the same knee. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes. I thought my days of bending my leg, much less kneeling, were over. I had the good fortune to work with two outstanding therapists: Mr. Marc Harrington and Ben Adelman. Despite my age, they designed exercises that were both achievable and encouraging. They never pressured me, but gently urged me to try them at least twice, preferably three times a week--and I did. To my amazement, after just a few months, I was able to touch my knee without pain. While I may never kneel on hard surfaces for lengthy periods of time like I did in my younger days, I now have full mobility and, best of all, no pain. Mark and Ben were thoughtful, committed, and truly concerned for my well-being. Should anything ever happen again, I know exactly where I'll go to get back on my feet (or up from my knees, as the case may be): Capstone Physical Therapy, at Birch Bay.

An hour later, they called me back saying that they need to find me someone specilaise with concussion exercise. This took me another 2 weeks to wait for the changes. And the day before the appointment, in the late afternoon, they phoned me back to tell me that they are cancelling my appointment becuse the physio therapist Jaslyen Singh noticed FEW DAYS ago that she did not have time for an initial assessment. Her 45 minutes session is prefer for something else. The front desk claimed that they did not know that I have concussion !!!!! And they asked me to phone around the town to find someone to make an intial assessment and come back for an appointment which they do not know when. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

First, as a pregnant lady, getting to lie face down on their pregnancy support pillow is a rare treat... Kinda worth the price of admission right there... But aside from the pillow, I felt like I was in really capable, professional hands. Teagan practices a modified style of Swedish massage and took a bit of time to learn what I'd like out of the experience. Having been to other RMTs I know I'm not crazy about having 20 minutes of head cradling (for example) and prefer deep back and shoulder massages. She totally respected my hopes and never fails to deliver. I also enjoy the music she plays... Not the typical babbling brook, nature soundtrack/pan flute often heard during massages... Lee practices active release techniques and gave me great advice on how to carry myself while carrying the extra weight of a baby. He gives a great treatment plus he really set me at ease as someone who usually prefers to have body work done by women. A real professional.
