Great restaurant with delicious food and spacious patio area. I got the lunch special which was a 1/4 rack of ribs and panko chicken cutlet for $13. They also have a nice selection for the kid menu which has the breakfast options til 2pm for kids who are pickier. The hostess also gave my son a toy truck to play with while we were there. Wowza! A place that actually has a good selection and quality throughout! Lasagne soup was in a bowl and a real serving and so much flavor and balance if meat to make pasta ratio. We done here frequently as the food and service are always consistently good. This particular visit we stopped for early lunch and our group had both breakfast and lunch entrees. My chicken sandwich and chicken pot pie soup were delicious. My daughter had the chocolate chip Mickey Mouse pancake with bacon and she loves it. My husband had a skillet and enjoyed it. The only reason I took a star away is that the price increases over the past year have been a lot here; more than other local restaurants and they charge a credit card fee which I think is ridiculous. The place was super busy staff running their butts off. Evidently the kitchen could not produce the food fast enough. We were seated promptly, but had to wait for the traditional chips and salsa. The hostess never helped wait staff she just stood by her station stone faced. While we waited even longer for water. Finally a waitress apologized you could see she was exhausted. I feel bad for service staff in these trying times of being short staffed. But, Ms. Hostess! Sorry that is when you need to step up to the plate and be a team player! I hope the food is worth the wait? Got our drinks and ordered our food right away. If it was not for the side salad that came quickly as part of the granddaughters meal, this party of four, probably would have walked out! I wish there was a way to review our waiter and not the whole place because we don't get to experience it all. Our waiter had Grey hair in pony tail with glasses and ruined our experience. We were sat, waited a good amount of time (which was fine at first, they were busy). We got asked what we wanted to drink and proceeded to say we were ready to order. In a very rude tone we were told we can't order yet because the table behind us was first... that was a first. We assumed she'd take their order and come right to us to take ours. Nope. She proceeded to take their order after another approx 5 minutes, then walked right by us and went to another table. We kept waiting. Another 12 minutes goes and then we see her go to another table to order their drinks. We got up and left. Paid for our orange juice. Stopped by here early on a Saturday after hearing about their margaritas. My wife and I both ordered the Crossover margarita. Overall the flavor was decent however could have used more cranberry flavor to help distract from the lower cost tequila flavor. We were both impressed with the chips and salsa provided. The salsa was very fresh tasting and was not spicy at all for those susceptible. Loved that they include chopped cilantro in their salsa! We both ordered the 3 taco dinner with barbacoa, pastor and cod tacos. The barbacoa and cod tacos left a lot to be desired. The flavor was very bland and a bit disappointing especially since the barbacoa taco was an additional $6. The pastor taco was by far the best tasting however the pork seemed a bit fatty. The rice and beans that complimented the meal were both pretty good however the rice seemed very old or overcooked. Ingredients used were very fresh. Unfortunately the service was not the greatest. We sat outside due to nice weather. Our waitress stopped by a few times to ask how we were doing and overall was friendly. We had anticipated ordering more drinks and possibly desserts however, the waitress brought us our bill without even asking if we wanted any more drinks or desserts. After she brought the check she didn't ask us if we needed anything else. Could have made more money and a bigger tip had we been asked if we wanted more. We ended up leaving early and going to a different bar for more drinks. Ambiance was nice with plenty of seating inside and outside. My only complaint for outdoor seating is for the restaurant to always have the umbrellas at the tables vs stating "if you need an umbrella just ask your server." OK, this place has been totally revamped. The service is impeccable, and the food is outstanding. Stopped here for Mother's Day...very busy, but staff (both cooks and servers) weathered the storm! The best was soooo tender and flavorful. It comes with carrots and tomatoes sautéed with the meat, onions and peppers and they were happy to oblige to my request to omit the carrots and tomatoes. You're also allowed to substitute the rice at no extra cost, unless you asked for veggies or sweet potato fries. I thought that was cool. This meal was $20. But it was filling and had I wanted, I could have had leftovers but I gave them to my friend. My friend ordered the chicken loco moco. This was really good! I can see why it's popular! It was chicken filled with chorizo, topped with a creamy verde sauce and it was very yummy! They have a weekly drink. This week was a passion fruit mimosa that came in a 21oz glass; it was absolutely delicious. $6. Our server was hands down the nicest. And genuinely so. Like not forcing a tip nice. The building is really nice. The parking lot was mostly full but it did not appear to that busy inside. Upon entering we were greeted and given a seat. It took 10-15 minutes just to get drinks and order an appetizer. The salsa is ridiculous. Pigly wiggly salsa tastes better. I ordered a burger and boy was it plain. The burger tasted like the bbq sauce. I did not taste my medium well done patty. A party of 7 on a Friday night. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. The drinks were not being filled and the food was not hot when it got to us. It's a shame because this place is the only restaurant in the area. Pros: looked clean, nice decor, friendly waitresses Cons: the taste do your set a favor and drive 20 minutes to south side of Mke and get yourself a real taco/burrito. Price: 3 tacos at this place are $15.00. For that price ($5 a taco) you expect it to be at least very good. Nope it's not. The wait. Their fresh lime margaritas are the bomb. Their fried ice cream is reminiscent of chi chis. But better. I'm not a huge fan of their smoky salsas and I wish they had a fresh or more traditional salsa or pico. But what I am a huge fan of is their unlimited soups and salad offering. For an unbelievably competitive price, you can have your fill of their yummy soups, ranging from chicken noodle to chicken dumpling to seafood chowder. You can't go wrong with this choice. Enjoyable restaurant with a menu that has something for everyone. Portions are very generous- so plan on leftovers! The staff were very friendly and did not rush us for ordering. Quite possibly the worst pizza I ever had. I had ordered awhile back when pizza was half price on Mondays. I ordered a simple sausage, onion and mushroom and requested extra sauce. If what I got was extra sauce then the regular must not have any. I chalked it up to the half price situation. Decided to give it another shot tonight. No more half price, no problem. Ordered same sausage, mushroom and onions. Told her to "load up the sauce". What I found when I got home was no sauce and overload of cheese. Could not find sausage, mushrooms or onions, less than sparse. I could have gone to Pick n Save, got a loaf of bread and a block of mozzarella cheaper. Never again. read more
