Eleven of our ROMEO lunch group went here for the first time today. Several of us had been here before. We had multiple orders for the Reuben sandwich. I ordered a small cup of chili just to see how it was. One person ordered the Crossing's special sandwich and one had a Turkey sandwich. We had several different options off the menu. Service was fast with the food delivered quickly to our table. There were many comments about how fast the food came out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only problem I saw was that when I put my paper napkin on the table it stuck to the table. Apparently someone didn't spend much time washing the table down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a couple ratings of 4.0 and a couple at 5.0 for the restaurant, but the average turned out to be a 4.5 overall. The Reuben sandwich had a lot of corned beef on it, sauerkraut and some nicely melted cheese. The thousand Island dressing wasn't served on the sandwich but in a small bowl alongside it. I've never had one with the dressing not on the sandwich. It was a bit messy trying to eat it as the corn beef would slide out of the breat because it was packed full along with the sauerkraut. All in all everyone liked the restaurant. We did find out that it will be closing for good before Thanksgiving this year. read more

Crossings Deli has been our go to lunch spot after every hair appointment for the last several years. The egg salad on rye is my favorite but the pimento cheese and salads are great too. I do wish the soups would rotate. We always go on Friday's and would love a different option. Excellent! Driving through, yelped sandwich shops, found this gem! Has a large lunch crowd from nearby businesses. Huge menu selection, if you can't find something, you ain't hungry. This is unfortunate. I've lived in the area for several years and this is the first time I've tried this place. I am moving to a different side of town so I can't put this place in my regular rotation. It's really good! They have a nice variety, prompt friendly service and the sandwiches are excellent. I tried the Italian, and they don't skimp on the meet! Everything tasted fresh and it was more than filling. I decided to order a sandwich to go for my wife. She really enjoyed the Rueben. The atmosphere is nice too. There's quite a bit of seating and although it was busy, it didn't seem overwhelming. Orders were taken and completed quite quickly. We like Groucho's but this place is better. It's right off of the highway and it's worth the stop. I'm just disappointed we never tried this place before. read more

Really great find by my son James who has been wanting to take me here every since he discovered it over a month ago! Got here on Friday 4-20-18 around 1pm and asked what the favorite was.... and person taking the orders (I had one person in front of me just finishing his order) told me "Crossing's Spcial, the Boxcar and we are well known for the best Reuben in Columbia if you like saurkraut". I opted for the Crossing's Special and it was delicious and served at my table within 4 to 5 minutes. Barely had time to wash my hands in the very clean restroom. Will definitely be back! read more

Fantastic deli with a local following and no wonder! This in a tiny strip mall, but wow is it a gem. They have the most delicious, fresh food and such a different menu. The staff is super friendly and the food is consistently good. Plenty of tables spaced apart and very, very clean. The wait is never long and they bring your food to the table via numbers. The desserts look delicious, although I haven't tried them, but I see people taking them. I have had several of the grilled chicken wraps and my husband has had several of the the "Train specialty" sandwiches, always to his taste! I forget the name but it's cute that they have the train names for the specialty sandwiches. Also the decore is really cute with the puzzles of the trains and the old-time pics. It's very nostalgic. I just started working on this end of town and I found this place on Yelp! And after asking a few of my co-workers, I couldn't not try this delightful place! Not only was everyone friendly and the service was quick, but the food was amazing and well priced! Found this place while heading through on I77. Busy for lunch, but quick service. It's the kind of place where you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. No frills interior and food is served on Styrofoam plates. Overall the food was very good. Wife had the Italian and I the ruben. Potato salad was also good. I stopped here when I was in town for an interview. I decided to give it 4 stars overall as there is plenty of seating, the food came out quickly, and the menu was very very big - there were a number of food items I was interested in. However i would score my particular food item a solid 3 - some good aspects but overall not impressed. I ended up getting one of the special salads of the day which included lettuce tabouli feta hummus cucumbers and grilled chicken (with a homemade Greek dressing on the side). My salad was very large and also came with a small roll. The tabouli tasted quite good as did the hummus, however, there was a LOT of hummus on it (maybe too much for a salad as the rest of the ingredients got a bit overpowered). My biggest complaint was that the salad came with a standard romaine mix, but it looked and tasted quite old. I would compare it to a bagged romaine mix salad that was used last night and someone decided to recycle the leftovers for lunch when they probably should have been thrown out. However, as I said, the large menu and plentiful seating was redeeming, and I am confident I could find a sandwich or panini that would impress me more than this salad. read more

I went in there because of the Yelp reviews but I was disappointed. I'm not from around there and was only in the area for work so my choice not to go back has nothing to do with the food as much as to do with my distance to it. I only gave a 3 star because of I didn't have to spit out the food and the customer service was excellent. I only had one dish and piece of pie. The pie was awesome the only thing that would make it better is if it wasn't cold but I'm happy they didn't heat it up. I go a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. The first problem was the bagel which was irradiated in a microwave to heat it up. As bad as it is to eat irradiated food, if you do you should never irradiate bread because (say it with me), it makes the bread rubbery. Which was the case. Now the bacon is cooked in bulk and shredded (which I was told that in advance but I expected it to be mixed into the eggs). Since the bacon was cooked with the eggs it had a different temperature and because it was seating around it was very salty which again when of enhance the eggs if it was cooked together. And as you can image it was mess with nothing to hold it together. I also had coffee that was bad which no amount of sugar could fix. I was grateful to end with the pie which was awesome. read more

Don't pass this modest from the exterior place because from the road it doesn't look like much! Outstanding Italian wedding soup and half an egg salad on your choice of bread--my wife had the pumpernickel. They offer a healthy choice of a Reuben made with chicken or turkey. An update on my first review. I took my wife here for lunch Saturday since I had a good experience on my first visit. It wasn't crowded at all and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. I decided to try something different and ordered the Crossings Special: Turkey, roast beef, Swiss cheese, and bacon served hot on a hoagie roll with thousand island dressing on the side. My wife ordered the Charleston: Turkey topped with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and raspberry vinaigrette served on a honey wheat sub-roll. I asked for mine to be heated. Hers was a pressed sandwich so it is served warm. When I got my sandwich I was surprised. It was basically just as the menu said...hoagie roll with the other ingredients packed into it. The bacon, however, was not fried bacon but a bunch of crumbled bacon bits on top of the sandwich. Somewhat like you get when you buy the bacon bits from the grocery store and put them on a salad. Generally when you heat a bun it comes out slightly toasted. My hoagie bun was warm and the provolone was melted, but it wasn't nearly as good as what I get from Subway with their toasted sandwiches. Not sure if they put it in an oven or if they zapped it with a microwave. I definitely did not care for the glob of Thousand Island Dressing that they put on the side of the plate for dipping. If you look at the menu you'll find that many of the sandwiches are served with this Thousand Island on the side. Guess that's their signature thing. My wife liked her first bite but after the second bite she thought the sandwich was pretty tasteless...nothing other than the basic ingredients that the menu said with little spices or any taste ( almost the same as what I thought with mine). Both seemed bland. You could buy some lunch meat and throw it on a hoagie and get the same thing. Needless to say we were pretty disappointed. I thought after my first visit that I liked the restaurant but after this trip it totally changed my opinion. I doubt if we'll go back and give it a third try. read more

For a deli, the hubs and I really enjoyed this place. It's very conveniently connected to a fabulous little market with a really good selection of cheese, wine and olives. The hubs ordered a cheeseburger and I got a turkey sandwich. I really enjoyed mine, but the hubs was so pleased with his cheeseburger that he ordered a second and swore that he was saving it for later. Being from NJ we love deli's. It is one of the best things about NJ/NY. Since we are vegetarians we have trouble finding good take out. Thanks to Crossings Deli it has made our time in Columbia a great stay. We've had the veggie burgers (AHHHmazing) love the toasted onion roll. Many chips to choose from we always get the plan.. (I didn't ask but I swear these veggie burgers are made from scratch). They are better than any veggie burger we've ever had Red Robin etc. My wife said the Veggie sub was outstanding and she loved hay they out the thousand island dressing on the side since we ordered it to go. The enchilada soup (no meat) was very very good. The beans were perfect texture. The broccoli Cheese soup was soooooo good. It was creamy and the perfect texture. We demolished it. The seating inside was not cramped and had great conversation going on while we were waiting. We agree that the customer service is great. We love the fast pace New York style Deli feel while still getting the proper greeting with a smile. Crossings deli has provided us one of the best meals we've ever had! It was about 20mins out of our way but well worth it!! 5 STARS Place was packed. 1 negative, parking lot didn't have a space available, let alone a handicap spot. Owners were present and "on the line" making sandwiches for the non stop line. 10 people in front of when I arrived, 10 short minutes later...when I was leaving with 3 full lunches with chips and drinks...10 more people had gone through the line and 10 more waiting again!!!
