An efficient, clean restaurant with socially distanced tables offering limited indoor seating. The drive through appeared steadily busy. Their "Original" is my favorite, and it's the muffuletta style sandwich that put Schlotzsky's on the map. Served warm on a small round sourdough bread it has a variety of 3 meats, cheeses, lettuce, red onion, mustard and black olives. So good! Choose two sizes regular or medium. Okay, this is not a place that I would normally have selected, but my DH has childhood memories of Schlotzsky's so I wanted to indulge him. When we parked and I saw the picture menu board for the drive thru, I admit that I panicked, but continued. Walking in, this is a fast food restaurant - in case the drive thru didn't give it away - the same picture menu board was inside and as an added bonus there was also a slightly sticky laminated menu. I honestly ordered the first thing I saw...Bacon grilled cheese. We collected our table number and sat and our food was brought out so quickly In wasn't sure it was ours and I had to review the menu for what I ordered...It was ours. I looked at my bacon sandwich oozing real avocado slices on its pretzel bun and I was pleasantly surprised...Took a bite and WOW...this is actually really good. I doubt that I'll be back to Schlotzsky's any time soon, but my first and likely last visit wasn't too bad - minus the fast food qualities of the place. read more

I could not brag on this Schlotsky's enough! I'm a Schlotsky's addict! I made a point to stop at any one I could find during my road trip with this being the final stop before the last leg of my trip back home 2 hours from here. The cashier was so nice. Though I have to talk about the star of the show! Calvin, the older African American Gentleman was seriously the highlight of my stop. Idk where he came from but he's nicer than any Chick-fil-A employee I've ever met and that says something. Not only is he attentive to each and every one of the guests but he makes a point to treat you like family. I will surely be back next time I'm passing through. Food was amazing! read more

This was my first visit to a Schlotzsky's. Unfortunately will probably be my last. I ordered a roast beef and cheese sandwich combo to go. I got back to my office to discover the quality was terrible and not what I was expecting. The meat portion was small and grisly. There was no cheese. It was overloaded with onions. Bread was not fresh, going stale. Bag of tasteless chips with perhaps six broken chips inside. I waited over 15 minutes and there were only 2 other customers in the place, which I would rate as "medium-dirty". Ice tea was tasteless. The over $14 price (including $1 tip which they shame you into when you sign the screen) was definitely not a good value. If this is a typical representation of a Schlotzsky's franchise then I definitely do not recommend. I should have driven the extra distance to the Kroger supermarket where they would have made me a whole Boars Head sub for $8.99. read more

Nowhere near as good as it used to be. I used to frequent this place for lunch at least once a week a couple years ago and it was great. Was in neighborhood and stopped in. Quality and service markedly different than before. Sandwich build a bit thrown together. Wasn't served toasted as usual. Chips had an expiration date 6 months earlier than my visit. Hopefully they were just having a bad day but for an $11.00 lunch I would expect better. read more

You could say I am a frequent flyer at Schlotzky's. The staff has ALWAYS been courteous and the food is always hot. I believe I have tried 90-95% of the menu. A few of my favorites have been taken off the menu. I really enjoyed the pastas. The macaroni dishes are ok but not the same as the pasta. I also like the flatbreads and sandwiches. My absolute favorite is the Turkey Avocado Cobb salad with red wine vinaigrette dressing! Delicious, and when I want a sandwich I just choose the Pick 2. One thing I really like about them is that if they get your order wrong they are happy to fix and make your dining experience pleasurable...with NO attitude! read more

Sclotzsky's, Schlotzsky's where have you been--you left Indiana years ago, I miss you so much. I found you here in Columbia traveling across country. I love this place and my favorite menu item--Chicken Pesto Pizza--is still on the menu. The food is every bit as fresh and good as i remember. What a delight to be able to eat here. They now sell Cinnabon rolls here too. I got one but was stuffed on pizza so I saved it for later. It looks delicious. The building looks run down, they should do some updating. The restroom though old was well maintained and clean. read more

Funny name, excellent sandwich! I love this place. I have been a patron at this shop for years. My favorite is the Regular original on sourdough with cracked pepper chips. Growing up in Jacksonville, my mother always used to take us to Schlotzky's as she was a fan of the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Being a picky little kid, I never wanted to go. Schlotzky's in Jacksonville closed down and I never got to experience the place as an adult. I was on a family vacation to the Smoky Mountains this past week and we made a stop at this Schlotzky's on the way. I went with the BBQ Chicken Pizza and a side salad. It was really good. I appreciated the jalapenos on the pizza as I am a spice fan. I can see why my mom liked Schlotzky's so much. I would definitely have it again next time I am up that way. read more

Parking lot sucks. Considering it's mostly democrat hipsters stopping and working here you'll have to deal with CNN being played on the tv if dining in. The food is ok but honestly let's me down from the menu they used to have. read more

Great sandwiches. We had the French dip and the Sicilian and both were great. The Mac is another story though. It was just not that good. The meat that was supposed to be on it was quite skimpy. We went through the drive thru so I don't know much about the inside service. read more

It's been a while since I've had Schlotzsky's. I was traveling through SC and much to my surprise it hit me. The SCHLOTZSKY'S sign. I love this place. Super clean and the staff was extremely nice. It's still as good as it ever was. My only problem being that there aren't any on the east coast in Florida. GREAT PLACE! read more

I love Schlotzsky's but was sad to see that the employees close up before hours so that they can go home early. I got there 10 minutes before closing and they had already locked all the doors and shut off the drive thru sign light. Very disappointing! read more

This location is great. Extremely nice employees. Schlotzky's just isn't my jam. Everything has been prepared right, I'm just not a huge fan of the menu. I'm more of a sub sandwich kind of guy. This is my ol'man's favorite though, so we eat here quarterly due to a meeting close by. The hot sauce saves the day. Can't say enough about the staff. read more

I recently had lunch at the new location on Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce. This is a brand new restaurant in the same strip mall as the new neighborhood Walmart grocery. I was greeted when I arrived and given a menu to review while waiting in line. I ordered a medium "Original" sandwich. My order was ready in about five minutes. This is a large sandwich ! It is very tasty and filling. I also ordered a turkey avocado cobb salad to take home for dinner. It is enormous and filled with flavor! I will definitely return to this restaurant! read more

The staff at this location was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu options. They were patient and we looked over the menu and decided what to order. My daughter and I chose two different sandwiches and split them both. They made sure that hers did not contain any olives which was nice. We didn't ask for them do make it special- she just stated she didn't like olives and I told her to pick them off. The food was delivered to the table pretty quickly. It all tasted delicious and full of flavor. We really liked the French dip- however it was a bit smaller than what we expected. We ordered medium sandwiches all round and it was quite a bit smaller than all the others. Glad we made a stop there as we were passing through. read more

Somewhat grossly, the tablecloth on the table I was seated at was covered with coffee stains from previous guests, which was kind of unsettling. I then asked for a cup of coffee, and was told that there wasn't any ready, and that I would need to wait a few minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but I would expect a breakfast restaurant to have some coffee ready by the time that they open. Second, when perusing the menu, I was not particularly impressed by their "limited breakfast" options, nor anything on their regular menu. I decided to go with a simple hot dog, and substituted the offered sides with an order of French fries, which ridiculously cost me almost $4 extra. In addition, my hot dog was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not better than one I could've gotten at Costco for a markedly cheaper price. The one (1) bright spot was that the fries were very good, and of higher quality than most other fries I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, my server was nice enough, but a little rough around the edges and not overly attentive. In addition, the ambiance was pretty basic, with nothing about it that really stuck out. All-in-all, I wouldn't be adverse to returning to DiPratos on a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast menu, but I won't be coming back during the week, and wouldn't really recommend that anybody else do so either.

I went on a weekday morning when it wasn't too packed, and I really enjoyed the authentic deli ambiance, which isn't the easiest thing to find in this neck of the woods. My server (whose name I didn't catch) was such a sweetheart and did an amazing job of making sure my drinks were re-filled, my food was delivered on time, and was proactive in offering me a cup of coffee to-go. After my meal, I enjoyed wandering around the other side of the restaurant for a few minutes, which included a cigar room, an enormous wine cellar, and a host of fine cheeses that I had never heard of before! All-in-all, I really enjoyed The Gourmet Shop, will definitely be back in the future, and would recommend it to anybody in the area who's looking for an authentic deli experience!
