Drive thru menu
Lorri D.

Okay, this is not a place that I would normally have selected, but my DH has childhood memories of Schlotzsky's so I wanted to indulge him. When we parked and I saw the picture menu board for the drive thru, I admit that I panicked, but continued. Walking in, this is a fast food restaurant - in case the drive thru didn't give it away - the same picture menu board was inside and as an added bonus there was also a slightly sticky laminated menu. I honestly ordered the first thing I saw...Bacon grilled cheese. We collected our table number and sat and our food was brought out so quickly In wasn't sure it was ours and I had to review the menu for what I ordered...It was ours. I looked at my bacon sandwich oozing real avocado slices on its pretzel bun and I was pleasantly surprised...Took a bite and WOW...this is actually really good. I doubt that I'll be back to Schlotzsky's any time soon, but my first and likely last visit wasn't too bad - minus the fast food qualities of the place.

Normally they are decent but we won't be coming here again. Cinnabon tastes stale and hard also my soup wasn't hot. And where is my extra icing?

Chicken Smokecheezy with side of chips! Washing it down with a tall raspberry lemonade!

When you have a craving for a sandwich then come here! They never disappoint. Always fresh, always clean, and always friendly. This place is in a class by itself. Wish there was one on the northeast (Spring Valley/Sandhill) side of Columbia, SC (hint hint owner)

You could say I am a frequent flyer at Schlotzky's. The staff has ALWAYS been courteous and the food is always hot. I believe I have tried 90-95% of the menu. A few of my favorites have been taken off the menu. I really enjoyed the pastas. The macaroni dishes are ok but not the same as the pasta. I also like the flatbreads and sandwiches. My absolute favorite is the Turkey Avocado Cobb salad with red wine vinaigrette dressing! Delicious, and when I want a sandwich I just choose the Pick 2. One thing I really like about them is that if they get your order wrong they are happy to fix and make your dining experience pleasurable...with NO attitude!

Yummy sandwiches but pickles weren't included like usual. Also, not the best location and bathrooms were dirty.

I came in a few minutes after 10:00 a.m., the time they open, and while I don't expect a restaurant to be in tip-top shape the second they open, they did not seem at all ready for the day or to accept customers. I stood at the front for a few awkward moments before asking one of the hostesses if I was supposed to seat myself, when she replied "oh no, I'll seat you", and then led me to one of the nearby tables. Somewhat grossly, the tablecloth on the table I was seated at was covered with coffee stains from previous guests, which was kind of unsettling. I then asked for a cup of coffee, and was told that there wasn't any ready, and that I would need to wait a few minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but I would expect a breakfast restaurant to have some coffee ready by the time that they open. Second, when perusing the menu, I was not particularly impressed by their "limited breakfast" options, nor anything on their regular menu. I decided to go with a simple hot dog, and substituted the offered sides with an order of French fries, which ridiculously cost me almost $4 extra. In addition, my hot dog was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not better than one I could've gotten at Costco for a markedly cheaper price. The one (1) bright spot was that the fries were very good, and of higher quality than most other fries I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, my server was nice enough, but a little rough around the edges and not overly attentive. In addition, the ambiance was pretty basic, with nothing about it that really stuck out. All-in-all, I wouldn't be adverse to returning to DiPratos on a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast menu, but I won't be coming back during the week, and wouldn't really recommend that anybody else do so either.

I've only tasted their pimento cheese at the festival and the original is phenomenal! I'd purchase…read moreagain. Friendly staff! I'd definitely check out their restaurant/deli soon!

We were fortunate to get two tables together in the hallway. I can see where it can get crowded over lunch time as the line continually was growing with people getting their food and taking a seat in the hallway. They have quite a few of tables with four chairs/table. Most of us ordered the Italian Subs with chips or potato salad as a side. Service was great. Speed was fantastic. I think all seven of us had our food brought out to us within about 7 minutes or so. Several of us thought that the Subs weren't heated as much as they could be. One complaint was that his pickle was limp. The top of the bun was warm but the cheese and meats on the inside were not warm at all (or the bottom of the bun). The potato salad was very good. They have soft drinks via the machine with ice and also Tea. The ingredients were fresh and everything good. I think seating could be a problem on some days and we wished the sandwiches were toasted more than what they were. On a scale of 10 we would rate it as a 7.3 on the ROMEO scale...Yelp scale we'll give it a 4.0

I went on a weekday morning when it wasn't too packed, and I really enjoyed the authentic deli ambiance, which isn't the easiest thing to find in this neck of the woods. My server (whose name I didn't catch) was such a sweetheart and did an amazing job of making sure my drinks were re-filled, my food was delivered on time, and was proactive in offering me a cup of coffee to-go. After my meal, I enjoyed wandering around the other side of the restaurant for a few minutes, which included a cigar room, an enormous wine cellar, and a host of fine cheeses that I had never heard of before! All-in-all, I really enjoyed The Gourmet Shop, will definitely be back in the future, and would recommend it to anybody in the area who's looking for an authentic deli experience!
