This is a Columbia, SC staple..... the best deli around. If you want amazing, friendly, and family like service then I recommend going there... my mom went to USC and would visit all the time so I had to try it for myself. They genuinely care about you and makes sure everything is to perfection. The family who owns it works there so it's truly a family establishment. It's very comfortable inside and plenty of spaces to sit. They have great portion sizes and make their own dip for the chips they have which reminds me a lot of thousand island dressing but it's not, it's BETTER. MAKE SURE YOU STOP BY IF YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE FAMILY.

If you haven't checked this staple of Columbia out yet..what are you waiting for? I love a restaurant that keeps it original charm and Andy's deli does just that. You feel like you are walking back in time as you step through the doors and immediately greeted by Andrew (Andy's son) and you realize this is more than a local deli. This is a place full of family memories and love. Not to mention one of the best sandwiches around! I highly recommend the Andy's special and the Turkey Dip supreme!

We heard from friends this is the place to go. Went on a Saturday @11:45. Place wasn't too crowded yet. Orders the Andy's special with slaw. Excellent sandwich !!

Whether you have taste for a simple turkey sandwich (made to your specific order) or a yummy R2D2 sandwich, you won't be disappointed here!! The southern hospitality was amazing.... Just the kind of considerate treatment I appreciate. Clean & roomy dine-in area. It's seat yourself after placing your order at the counter. Very community oriented business as you'll see upon arrival.

The Owner, Andy, passed away a year ago and his kids took over. They have bucked the trend and kept his standards while raising them when possible. The Andy's Special is my favorite with turkey, roast beef, swiss cheese and bacon crumbled on top. It is a nice warm sub that comes with a dipping sauce that puts it over the top. Adam and Andy have carried on a great condition. I will be back, My Friend!!!

There aren't too many places you can go where the owner greets you, "Hello my friends!" This deli has a very neighborly feel. In South Carolina to get away from the hurricane, we ventured to Columbia South Carolina. We'd been to the area last winter and so we knew it was a pretty good place to stay for a couple of days (or a week as it turned out)... Being in the mood for a pastrami sandwich, we of course checked Yelp for the best place to go. Many of the places listed in the area did not get great reviews, so our obvious choice was the place with the highest stars and Yelp did not disappoint. There is free private parking, which is difficult to find around there. And they take their customer parking only quite seriously! We ordered pastrami on rye and a turkey sandwich for the little ones. The pastrami was delicious and the turkey must have been too because the babies didn't leave anything for us to even try!

You'll feel like a regular by the end of your first visit. Love the family run feel to this charming local establishment, as well as the walls covered in photos and Gamecock memorabilia and the retro chair and table sets. I ate here for the first time this past summer, and now it's my Friday lunch routine. Meats are fresh and thinly sliced. My personal fave is the turkey dip special and I add saurkraut. We buy large containers of Andy's "special sauce" that comes with all the sandwiches and keep it in our fridge here at home. So good. I would steer clear of the salad, but I'm still giving 5 stars here because everything else makes up for it and then some.

    Microwave corned beef

Was on a mission to find a good old fashioned deli ( where they actually cook their own pastrami and corned beef). The Greeting was Awesome and the place really reminds me of deli's I had known in the past. Just moved here from Fl. Was looking for just the right combo. Owner was very nice. He politely told me that the meats were all pre packaged, and were warmed up with microwave. Price for 2 sandwiches, glass water. Even with senior discount was 15.00 I will keep searching for the deli that cooks there own pastrami. Thank you

I came in a few minutes after 10:00 a.m., the time they open, and while I don't expect a restaurant to be in tip-top shape the second they open, they did not seem at all ready for the day or to accept customers. I stood at the front for a few awkward moments before asking one of the hostesses if I was supposed to seat myself, when she replied "oh no, I'll seat you", and then led me to one of the nearby tables. Somewhat grossly, the tablecloth on the table I was seated at was covered with coffee stains from previous guests, which was kind of unsettling. I then asked for a cup of coffee, and was told that there wasn't any ready, and that I would need to wait a few minutes. Again, not a huge deal, but I would expect a breakfast restaurant to have some coffee ready by the time that they open. Second, when perusing the menu, I was not particularly impressed by their "limited breakfast" options, nor anything on their regular menu. I decided to go with a simple hot dog, and substituted the offered sides with an order of French fries, which ridiculously cost me almost $4 extra. In addition, my hot dog was fine, but nothing exceptional, and definitely not better than one I could've gotten at Costco for a markedly cheaper price. The one (1) bright spot was that the fries were very good, and of higher quality than most other fries I've gotten at similar restaurants. Finally, my server was nice enough, but a little rough around the edges and not overly attentive. In addition, the ambiance was pretty basic, with nothing about it that really stuck out. All-in-all, I wouldn't be adverse to returning to DiPratos on a Saturday or Sunday to try their breakfast menu, but I won't be coming back during the week, and wouldn't really recommend that anybody else do so either.

I went on a weekday morning when it wasn't too packed, and I really enjoyed the authentic deli ambiance, which isn't the easiest thing to find in this neck of the woods.
