Had a meeting in downtown Denver for work so I decided to drop in at CrossFit Verve. This is obviously a well known CrossFit establishment with some phenomenal athletes in it. I signed up online prior to my drop in, and Anna was cheerful and upbeat when I arrived with a waver all ready for me. She was so welcoming and high energy! The facility is fantastic! Nice clean and new equipment, everything organized and well placed for space utilization. We had a great metcon that morning.... of which I felt I was able to hold my own... but the athletes here really pushed me and the coach was very encouraging and motivating. We had a thorough warmup which prepared us for the movements in the workout. Safety was always top of mind. Thanks for a great drop in experience, and I look forward to dropping in again! read more

There are a wide variety of gyms and cultures in the Denver Crossfit scene-- Many great options but in my opinion it's critical to find the right spot for you. CF Verve is a solid place, but has its own personality that may or may not be what you're looking for. IMHO: Pros: --Biggest CF facility in Denver --Huge space with top-notch equipment --Some really good coaches --Tons of class availability, including Sundays --Downtown location Cons: --Can be a little impersonal due to the size --No outdoor workout space --"Strict" CF programming (no tires, atlas stones, strongman programming) --Parking can occasionally be a pain, particularly in evenings --Some coaches a little Rah-Rah read more

This is like an adult's playground. Ropes, rings, bars and doing handstands! I've been working out here for 3 months now, and love every class. Every trainer keeps a close eye on you in groups up to about 20 people. They push you to go harder and finish your workout. There's music blasting and weights crashing throughout the hour. They will work with people with any level of fitness. I've learned how to do different lifts like overhead squats and split jerks. I'm working on headstands, rope climbing and kipping pull ups. I will get that handstand push up in one day! We all work as a team. Every workout will make you feel out of breath. But I never dread going the next day. read more

I became a member of CrossFit Verve in May of 2009. I've lost (going on) 60lbs and have gained an unbelievable crew of new friends who encourage and support me in addition to being in the best shape of my life. I could not imagine a better program or gym to be a part of. Matt and Cherie Chan foster an environment that focuses on success and always moving beyond one's comfort zone. I wish everyone could try CrossFit. They'd understand that it's life changing. It takes hard work and dedication but it's worth every ounce of sweat. read more

Great workout. Courtney taught - great cues and corrections for me and the whole 9:00 crowd was friendly and inviting. I'll will definitely be back whenever I'm in Denver. read more

CrossFit Verve - Clean open space. Great vibe, excellent coaching, inviting vibe - Trainers Near Me - Denver, Colorado

If you want a gym that is going to teach you how to be better/ look better/ feel better then your search is over.. I've been at Verve since January '10 and have enjoyed every minute of it. My only regret is not being to attend as much I'd like. Verve is more than a place to sweat (believe me, you'll sweat), it's a community of like-minded folk that enjoy working out, hanging out and teaching each other. Matt, Cherie and the rest of the coaches are serious athletes who practice what they preach in terms of fitness, flexibility and nutrition. I've never lifted 195 lbs over my head or had the ability to do 100 unassisted pullups in a workout before my time at Verve. CrossFit is amazing. CrossFit VERVE is amazing with a side of awesome. read more

Great place to drop i! Coach was amazing. They have so much equipment. Super welcoming as well.

Dropped into CrossFit Verve for a Saturday morning partner WOD. Coach Anna was awesome and helpful, and the other athletes were fun and friendly. The facilities are really nice too. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Denver! read more

About a year ago, I came across the central CrossFit website, saw the WOD (workout of the day) and I thought it would be too easy - heck, I've been a member of meathead gyms, spent countless years doing crappy workouts at a big box gym, and suffered through way too many repetitive 75-minute boot camp classes. Fortunately I came across CrossFit Verve two months ago and it's been my best workout experience by far. If you are not familiar with CrossFit, the workouts are done in a small group setting. The workouts are typically 10 - 30 minutes (it always varies) and designed to be full body, functional, intense, as well as scalable to each individual's abilities. At the end of each workout, you'll be absolutely exhausted, drenched in sweat, and the resulting soreness will remind you that you are working much harder than you ever have. Beyond the workouts, CrossFit Verve stands apart from many of the other Denver gyms/bootcamps/etc. through the owners, instructors, price structure, and community. When you first meet Cherie and Matt (the owners), you quickly realize that they have a strong passion for fitness and are quite committed to the success of the members. Their knowledge is unmatched and their communication style is always positive, candid, and meaningful. This attribute is also true for the other instructors - all top-notch individuals. You will find tremendous emphasis on form, full range of motion, and absolute consistency from one instructor to the next. The price structure is also quite reasonable - simply compare what Verve charges with what you would spend at other places (or spend going out to lunch everyday). It's also important to note that you can register for any class at any time any day of the week - so you are not locked into a specific slot. I also can't say enough about the great community of members at Verve. While you will see a wide array of abilities, you will also note an abundance of intensity and camaraderie from everyone. Bottom line - working out is different for every person and I've been really impressed with what they offer. While it might or might not be for you, definitely check it out, attend a first class for free, and talk with Cherie or Matt - their comprehensive approach to fitness definitely raises the bar(bell) in Denver. read more

Reliable trainers, the best facilities, and immaculate equipment. The gym to visit in Denver

This is one of the greatest crossfit gyms in the country! Not only is it run by the #2 crossfit guy in the world, but the entire staff has more coaching certifications than most other gyms put together. Don't get me wrong having a bunch of pieces of paper doesn't necessarily make you a good coach, but at this gym they are all fantastic! Don't be intimidated if you are out of shape or rehabbing from an injury, the coaches here want to help you and want you to be in the best shape YOU can be in. Anyone who knows me, knows I have tons of injuries from all the sports I play. The coaches here know all about my injuries and will either scale workouts for me, or sub other things like rowing for running. In no way do they baby you, even for injuries, but they are cognizant and want you to rehab stronger and better than before. Crossfit Verve is really big and fully staffed so there are tons of classes you can pick from, including a couple workouts on Sat morning (outside if the weather allows) and 2 workouts on Sunday. This is ideal because if you miss a workout during the week you can get one in on the weekend. Yes, it's the most expensive gym. Sometimes you get what you pay for. This is one of those times, but they do have discounts if you sign for more than one month. We lucked out because they have a killer couples deal that makes the price for couples perfectly comparable to other facilities. Extra bonus for carrying the Reebok Olympic weightlifting shoes and crossfit shoes. I couldn't find these shoes anywhere else in Denver (none of the other gyms or major retailers carry them) and I wanted to try them on before purchasing them. Extra Extra bonus for the great music they play (usually they are playing songs that I normally snowboard to). Seriously Extra Extra Extra bonus for the coaches, the techniques they teach are spot on and super detailed so you can ensure you are doing it the right way and in the end, that's what really makes a good box. read more

Did a drop in class - friends encouraged me to try something new and couldn't speak more highly of this place. The coaching was simply fantastic with focus on mobility, form and safety. If you want to do Crossfit, this is the only way to do it. read more

Not all crossfit gyms are equal. I am truly honored to be in the Verve community.

Verve is hands down the best gym you could ask for! The trainers are amazing- they do everything they can to help you be better at your workouts, maintain good form, and have fun while doing it. The members are so positive- they are always cheering each other on through the workouts. Verve offers so much more than a traditional gym; you will find people who truly want to help you to be your best and will provide you with all the tools needed to do so. Whether you need to revamp your diet, rehab an injury, or tweak your deadlift form just a little, you will find it here. read more

I have been doing Crossfit for a while now, and love finding great boxes while travelling-- Crossfit Verve surely is another one to add to the list. To start, they have a beautiful new facility stocked with tons of quality gear- it's large enough to run two classes at once while not giving you the feeling of being on top of everyone else. They have a great bathroom with an attached private changing room with three showers in the back room. Beyond that, the coaching is top notch, very solid, active warm up, with great coaching and great cues during the strength portion of the WOD followed by good encouragement during the metcon. They are very easy to book if you want to drop in, you can do it all via online before you show up, no need to send an email. If you're in from out of town, definitely check out this box! read more

The focus on this gym is to "cultivate a fit community", it's no BS and they really make it true. I've been to dozens of Crossfit gyms and the atmosphere, the trainers, and the results here are in the top echelon. The members are great, the workouts inspiring, and if you're looking to get fit, this is the place to do it. read more
