Excellent first visit to CrossFit Surmount. Great coach who took time to modify and explain the exercises. Friendly, supportive people!

I tried out the yoga which was offered by a virtual instructor. There were 3 instructors to represent different skill levels for reference. I felt great after the session! I signed up for a membership before I left. The facility is super clean, comfortable, and safe. Hotworx is open 24 hours so you can go to any of the virtual classes or simply sit in the sauna at times that work with your schedule. The hours referenced here are the times that there is someone working up front to show you the ropes (no pun intended) or answer questions. They were not super pushy with "selling" you on the membership. Give it a try. Worst case scenario you will get a beneficial infrared sauna session in!

I never thought that I would "enjoy" working out in any way, but I absolutely LOVE the workouts at Hotworx. Contrary to the feeling leaving other gyms where I feel not only self conscious, but completely exhausted, when I leave Hotworx, I feel rejuvenated and empowered. If you have not given the free trial a chance, I promise it is completely worth it and you will fall in love like I did!

Classes are normally limited to 36 people, though presently, I think it's limited to 12 for COVID. Masks are worn for indoor workouts, doors are opened for circulation. Come check it out and tell them I sent you :) Shoutout to Tripp, Daniel and Bimala. Very cool trainers and people who love what they do and the people they are coaching.

I had…read morepreviously tried things like T25 (Videos), and in the past had been a gym member (lifting weights); but none of them really kept me motivated and coming back...nor was I really very dedicated to cardio work. F45 kind of changed all that. Each session is pretty intense as far as a workout goes, but it's all about how hard you push yourself. Exercises can be slower and easy, or fast and hard (or slow and hard ;-) ) depending on how you feel, and your level of confidence. However, the trainers that are there to help you along and the team of people that you work out with that help you to get motivated make all the difference. The folks that come there are super friendly and engaging; and the trainers are personable and non-judgemental ;-) . It's a high intensity workout, and it's easy to get a lot out of it so long as you go on a regular basis. All that being said, I'm a fan of F45. There are some things that make it better (perhaps) than others: - Erika (the trainer that is usually there when I go) is super friendly and helpful; she's always greeting you with a smile on her face, and ending the day with high-fives; and during the workouts she's letting you know where you can improve - or where you can push yourself harder. - The changing exercises daily (both in terms of timing, flow, and exercises themselves) keep things from getting dull; and you're focusing on different body parts - which is also great. - There are NO TREADMILLS; it's personal - but I'm not a fan of those things at all, so the lack of them is a plus for me. I've met several nice people at the local F45, and although none of them have invited me or my family over for dinner, I remain hopeful. Seriously though - the people are great, the trainers are great, and they have these heart monitors you can strap on to see how much you are improving. I'd highly recommend you go and try it out if you're looking for something different, and engaging, in terms of high intensity interval training.

I've been thinking about this for a while and haven't figured out how to verbalize it easily, but I…read morereally need to talk up Zeal. When I first realized there was a CrossFit in Holly Springs a few years ago, I was super excited. I had wanted to try it forever, but at that point in my life it was not the right time. So, I stalked, er I mean followed the Zeal Facebook page so I could see what they were all about. I loved what I was seeing. I wanted to be somewhere where I could lift heavy. I had never lifted big weights ever, but had been reading about it for years and was intimidated to go to a regular gym and do it. Sure I did BodyPump at one time, but mostly it was lots of cardio. My past athletic life was softball and basketball through high school. Otherwise I was a cardio bunny: boxing, kickboxing, walking, biking, running (hurt my knee with that one). I won't lie, at that time I was totally intimidated and almost made it to a Community WOD a few times, but never did. I wish I had started sooner. Zeal is awesome for so many reasons, but a few things I love: The programming, the coaching/coaches and the camaraderie. All of these things make you want to come back. I love just showing up and having it all planned out for me. It feels like personal training!. I've tried individual personal training and didn't see the results I see now. As soon as I made it to a community WOD, I immediately felt welcomed by everyone. All of the members are very friendly. I have never belonged to another gym where I socialized with the people I worked out with. I love the social aspects as well as the physical ones. I was immediately impressed when I first started Zeal and we were doing walking lunges and Coach Mike asked me "What's wrong with your left leg?" I hadn't mentioned to him anything about my left leg yet, but I did have some knee issues a few years ago from doing only running. I wasn't having pain anymore, but it definitely wasn't 100% I guess. The fact that he was able to see a weakness so quickly really impressed me since I hadn't said anything. If something is feeling off, Coach Mike can immediately pin point where it's coming from and give suggestions on how to mobilize it better and will modify movements if you're feeling pain. They are also sticklers for form. I have officially been at Zeal for nearly a year and a half and have seen progress all over the place. Everything can be modified so instead of pull ups, I did ring rows. Instead of strict push-ups I did negative push-ups. My squat was stuck around parallel. My flexibility and mobility were a little sad. When I first did a box squat, I literally plopped down on the box. I couldn't lower myself down slowly. Now I can do banded pull ups, some strict push-ups and even banded push-ups. My squat is looking SO much better thanks to all the feedback from the coaches, the programming and mobility. I can now do box squats without falling down onto the box and have a lot more control and strength. All my lifts are looking better every time and the weight on the bar is going up frequently. With a ton of encouragement, I got over my fear of box jumps. Well I may still be a little afraid, but I know I can do them! Zeal also just moved to a bigger space which has been very exciting with a kids room, massage and chiropractic and showers for the men and women. The benefits aren't purely physical, but also mental and emotional. I've gained so much confidence as well. Everyone at Zeal is motivating and will cheer you on to reach your goals. I genuinely look forward to going and getting the work done. The results are just the icing on the cake.
