I had no idea what I was in store for... but this studio... the workout... blew my mind beyond…read moremeasure! I am a FAN!! Confession... I so thought the name of this place was Orangetherapy. And I was thinking heated orange stones were involved. Now, where I got all this from... IN MY MIND hehehehehee Nevertheless, Orangetheory is where it's at! This ranks above any other group fitness class I have participated in! The Instructor: Sara was so cute and bomb on the headset! I really don't know all of what she was saying, but she was hyped and kept us going what seemed like a full hour NON STOP! Kudos, because that's what I like! I participated in a group session, about 20 of us, men and women and all were of all body types and different physical activity backgrounds. But the one thing we had in common, determination and I love it! Sara was walking around as she spoke through her headset, but I did not feel the work was intimidating nor was Sara forceful or made the environment uncomfy. I was so pumped, I didn't even pay much attention to those around me, I was just focusing on keeping my heart rate up. Sweat is sexy! Squats, rows, jogging, power walking, lifting weights, lunges and high energy tunes coming through the speakers... we were LIT (When you are so high normal words cannot describe. 2. Other word for awesome, hot, cool · lit af: "Ay bruh I was lit af - urban dictionary) and I loved it! Don't forget to place your heart rate monitor just below your breast bone and make sure it was working properly. While some had difficulty with the heart monitor working properly... they still kept up the intensity. I think we were all sweaty. Heck I was worried I was going to sweat my tracks (hair weave) out. That's how intense it was. And I'm not sure, I'm thinking something was up with the orange lighting in the studio... that may have been the heated stones, well heated vibrations that were in my mind... I didn't feel any fans all over the studio, but I recall passing a cool spot or two. Nevertheless, this power hour was high intensity and the sweat and burn out was real! Sheesh! In the studio, there are about three or four 50 in. TV screens hanging up for all to see their stats... calories burned, heart rate, minutes spent in the different zones and a few more other stats. This was amazing! It sure did keep my attention. While I am a competitor, I believe Ryan beat me in calories burned, but I was #1 in minutes spent in the higher up zones...orange and red zones. Go me! Owww! Shannon, the Manager at the front, super informative and definitely seemed like she loved the company as well. She gave me a little background and insight about the company, super intriguing. There are at least four more locations in the 757 and a lot more globally. They offer events and perks to members etc. Great location, awesome vibes, super cute staff and the orange look... fresh and vibrant! I recommend you go! I remember Sara mentioning they never do the same workout twice. Plenty of parking on site. Even though the studio is in a marketplace area, the parking lot is shared, but parking doesn't seem to be an issue. Afterwards, walk over to Harris Teeter to see what you can make or have for dinner etc. So glad I came here for a trial session. Again a group of 20 of us and I believe everyone was super satisfied. Strong is the new sexy and happy is the new healthy... get in to it! Have fun and enjoy life!

I had my butt handed to me but I DID IT! I went with her because I noticed that she lost weight and looks fit. And I am sick of not being in shape. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and the coach Stewart was very nice and positive! I love that they own this one and 1st Colonial and I can use both. I am not sure about the membership yet but I need to push myself and go back if I expect to see results. They aren't any more expensive than any other gym like this with classes. They also have an app which I hope I use. I will keep you all posted on my results after a few more classes.

I had gained weight in the…read moreprevious year after my wedding, and I was feeling frustrated with how to get into fitness again since the weight wasn't melting off the way it had when I was younger. The regular gym wasn't working for me since I would get in and waste time, and I knew I could push myself harder but struggled to do it on my own. I figured I would sign up for a couple of months of OTF and I would quit if I hated it. Well, I LOVED it! I love how the OTF structure makes me commit to regular workouts that I don't have to plan, and I'm DONE in an hour. I feel challenged but always so supported. I get compliments now on my fitness and people ask for advice... my advice is to sign up for OTF! The membership might feel expensive, but I think of it like affordable personal training. I used to hate running and struggle with weight lifting, but now I regularly sign myself up for 5ks and 10ks, and I feel so proud of how I do in these races. Maybe I'm not the fastest, but I would have never run one of these races 5 years ago let alone feel good afterwards. I don't train for the races, I just go to Orangetheory! Not to mention how much stronger I feel overall The Ghent location is fun and they always have events to make the regulars feel welcomed and excited for something new. I've tried out other OTFs (a benefit of membership), but I always feel like my Ghent location is so much better with fun coaches and a better layout. Love Ghent OTF!

I came here after trying another gym in the area. I already knew this was a smaller gym and…read morerealized the other one was a little too big for my liking. I signed up for this online free programming full of bodyweight workout I could do at home just to see what they offer. I never got to the workouts but I did look over them and liked them. About a week and a half later, I received an email from Dianne(the gym's owner). She wasn't pushy about me coming in and seemed genuinely interested in me as a person. I met her on a Saturday while running errands. Her and I talked about my goals, what I'm hoping to get out of her gym, what i'm looking for, and what the gym offers. All of it was amazing and I had such a good feeling from the gym. Upon entering the gym with her, the nutrition coach complimented me on my Lululemon shorts. This was a big bonus because we talked about why the clothes are worth the price and how it impacts a workout-when women feel good, they do good. In addition, I noticed someone had brought their dog and Dianne made sure to tell me dogs are welcome as long as they don't distract from the workout. As a woman who loves her dog, this was an awesome surprise! She also mentioned they have open gym and the "intro" class isn't some super long drawn-out course. I loved all of it. I tried out a workout the next day and LOVED IT. The coaches were helpful with ensuring everyone in the class had correct form and knew how to do each movement properly. They also made sure everyone in the class knew proper progressions and regressions for each movement. Me and Buddy(my dog) can't wait to join! He loved it as well.

Strong, caring, and fun community. Highly recommend for anyone in the area even if your just here…read morefor a visit.
