I was greeted by josh and Steve the owner and they invited me into their facility as one of their own.

Lead Coach would distract you, whilst telling you to sign and read a 20 page contract right before 45 minute group gym session. Apparently they charge you extra money if you cancel a class less than 8 hours prior to starting. This is not a practical "rule" that anyone with a life and family can always follow. If you were to arrive 10 minutes pass start time they would also purposely mark you as a no show, so that they can charge you more. After reaching out to management about my additional charges. He was very passive aggressive and started accusing me of "forgetting" such a ridiculous rule. Apart from that, I was told that I had to stay for an additional month before I quit. I don't think I would ever agree to signing up to be apart of a cult. Even after voicing that I would not be coming back, I was threatened, via email to have my records sent to collections.

I had been going to F45 for a while and have always had good workouts and good times. The staff is…read morealways so nice. But if you dare to cancel a membership, no matter what hardships you're going through in your life to cause this, they will turn and do everything they can to make sure they don't cancel your membership. I went to go in person to cancel my membership, spoke with 3 members of the staff and explained why I had to cancel to the person they had me talk with and with great sympathy, he took down the note to cancel and said they would take care of it. This was in June and I'm still getting charged in September. When I called to ask about the August charge, they were not helpful, so I had to cancel through my credit card. September rolls around and I get another charge, and I call again to ask why my membership had not been canceled yet. I was met with hostility from John, the manager on the other end who did not believe my story of coming in and cancelling and was super rude. Honestly, one of the most shocking reactions I've ever had. He told me to come in again to cancel and maybe "point the person out" that I told my story to, so they could figure it out because he did not believe my story. So I left my place to go to F-45, and halfway there I got a notification that they canceled my membership. I then receive a text from John at F-45 in a condescending tone saying that he canceled it, and that it was my fault and next time I shouldn't be talking to the newest person on the job. Exact word are "Thanks for talking to the newest person on staff and assuming it'd be handled correctly." Absolute insanity, especially from the manager. I was told who to talk to, I'm a customer not an employee. I don't post reviews, but this experience was so negative I felt it needed to be shared. I'd recommend to avoid this location at all costs, because they will keep charging you until you get to a breaking point, and then talk down to you before doing the right thing they should have done four months ago.

Contrary to a common belief, not all CrossFit boxes are equal. Just like with any other popular…read moresport you can have either great or very bad experience, with a whole range in between. Silver Star is by far one of the best boxes in the area. Let me break it down for you. 1. Coaches. Josh, Craig, Kim and Jason are all extremely helpful and concerned with everyone's safety. Every class they provide extensive instruction on all of the movements, even familiar ones. Correct form is their number one, and they all make sure you do it in the most proper and safe way. Modifications are available for those with physical limitations or injuries, but fear not, you'll still get a workout that'll leave you sweating and out of breath. 2. The program. There are 4 Foundation classes offered for all new to CrossFit people. You learn the basic movements, safe technique and the lingo. The regular WODs (workouts of the day) are very challenging even for seasoned CrossFitters, but a number of modifications is always available. 3. The members. I cannot stress enough how nice everyone is. Most of the members are fairly new to CrossFit, having started with Silver Star opening just a few months ago. The memory of what it felt like starting up is still fresh, and they are always willing to share some tips, equipment and cheer on during group workouts. 4. Results. I've been going to Silver Star since December along with many other members and it definitely pays off. My goal was to gain strength and endurance, and little by little I'm lifting more every time and doing more reps. I see the results in other members as well. Better form, slimmer waistlines, higher lifting weight, more muscles mass. 5. Schedule. There are a lot of options for morning and afternoon, with the first session at 5:30 am (ugh crazy people) and the last at 7:30pm. Ask about yoga classes, they are offered a couple times a week as well. Sometimes there are useful workshops, such as Double Under Clinic, taught by outside instructors. In short, if you are new to CrossFit and curious about trying it Silver Star is the best place.
