Tanner and his team are awesome and motivating. All the workouts are scalable and accommodate different levels of fitness. It's a really great, supporting environment. Highly recommend! read more

If you're looking for a good workout - you got it. The trainers are enthusiastic and motivating. The exercises involved will definitely challenge you and whip you into shape. If you have a billing concern - be prepared to be insulted, disrespected, and shamed by the owner, Tanner Baldauf. read more

Fantastic gym in Providence right off I95 with plenty of parking. I've been going here for a few years but decided to turn up the heat within the past 12 months. Like anything, it's what you make of it. CFP has everything you could need for a bomb workout, with really well-programmed classes and incredibly knowledgeable coaches. I recently worked with coach Patrick for some personal training to prepare for America's Toughest Mudder and legit owe my survival of this to him LOL. I've also previously worked with coach Tanner one-on-one to dial in some basics of Olympic lifting, but everyone at CFP is an incredible resource, both in personal training and the daily classes. The community fostered by this gym is really the brightest spot of it all, the folks who show up and do the work become the best support group, where everyone wants you to crush your workout and be your best self. It might seem intimidating, because it's a big warehouse, with upbeat rowdy music, sweaty people, and being greeted by the folks around you, but it is so supportive and a positive place to be. As a member of the LGBT+ community, it means a lot to have a space where I feel welcomed and celebrated as another person showing up to live my best life. read more

This was my second time dropping in at CrossFit Providence. Honestly, I wish that I lived in Providence so that I could frequent here far more often. The owner, Tanner, was incredibly welcoming and really encompasses why so many people enjoy the CrossFit environment. Kudos to him for how well he's running things. Despite the death I felt after the WOD (or workout of the day) I cant wait to come back here in a week or so. read more

Dropped in for a travel WOD and had a great experience! The coach and community were really friendly and I learned new warm up and pull up techniques. Oh and they have awesome shirts and events like "Glow-WOD" too. read more

Crossfit Providence - Trainers Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

Like all health & fitness programs, it only works if you actually put effort into it. What's great about Crossfit is that you have no choice but to make an effort. I was super nervous before starting because everything I read seemed like Crossfit was for people who were already fit and athletic. Luckily, the Providence gym has something for everyone. Pros: - Results! I started with Boot Camp and now do Elements; both programs are scaled down from the main classes. For the first month, I thought I'd die from a lung explosion and I was constantly sore. I went from struggling to do 5 situps & pushups the first week, to now being able do umm... lots of them. My 400m sprint time was 20 secs faster after 3 months. I have more to lose, but after 6 months of just Crossfit and no diet mods, I've gone down 2 dress sizes. I only just started with the weightlifting. On the first day, I struggled to do the workout with just the 15 lb bar with no weights on it! After 2 weeks, I could at least press 35 lbs. I've been fat for a long time and now I'm really happy with the physical milestones I've accomplished. - Community. The coaches & fellow Crossfitters are so supportive. The team atmosphere keeps me coming back regularly instead of slacking off like I used to do when I was trying to go to the gym on my own. It seemed a bit cult-ish at first but it makes you want to go back. Cons: - Expensive. About as expensive as the fanciest globo-gyms in the area. But this is worth it. I've thrown down tons of money on pricey gym memberships and was unable to achieve & maintain results on my own. - Not for high maintenance people. No TV's or air condition. Lots of rolling around on the floor. My eyes get irritated & watery whenever I'm there and I think it's from the dust plus chalk that other people use on their hands. I never see anyone spraying or wiping equipment but hey, I haven't heard of anyone getting a staph infection so I guess it works. - Mix of levels and abilities is both pro/con. The main classes can be scary for a beginner. I feel pretty klutzy trying to get the weights on/off the bars, and trying to do workouts alongside the coaches, marines, and athletes. They say anyone can do it to their own scale, but it's still embarassing when I'm the last one running and everyone is waiting. That's why I stick to the "beginner" classes. My whole life I never liked exercise and I never felt I was good at physical things. All of that changed since I started Crossfit. This review is getting long, so all I can say is give it a try. If you go 3 x a week, you will absolutely see a difference in a month. read more

I live in Los Angeles and was back in Rhode Island with my family for the holidays. I had done some research on a few crossfit gyms near my parents house and decided to go with CrossFit Providence (no reason in particular - they were less than 10 minutes away from me, and the first gym to respond to my emails about traveling crossfitters). Anyway, my first class was free as a traveller, which was super nice. I was in town long enough to buy a 5 class pass. In the 6 classes I went to, I absolutely fell in love with the place. The coaches are so incredibly professional and well-educated in the sport, and they were so friendly and helpful in correcting my form, giving me some helpful tips, and making sure I was performing to the best of my own personal ability. They're all about proper forms as opposed to heavy weights, which lets me know that they're doing CrossFit the right way and staying safe! The community was so nice - I really enjoyed meeting people at the gym, everyone was so welcoming, and we built a great sense of camaraderie, even if I was only there for a couple of weeks. I truly wish I could move back to Rhode Island and continue my WODs with these amazing people. I can't wait to visit my family again so I can stop by for some great workouts. I have been trying to find a good crossfit gym in Los Angeles for several months and after 3 attempts so far at finding the right place for me, NOTHING compares to the experience I had at CrossFit Providence. Congrats to the staff on building such an amazing and welcoming community. I hope to see you all again soon! read more

CROSSFIT is amazing! I'm not a fit person so I decided to give Crossfit a try and now I'm hooked! My instructor Felix is the best of the best. His classes are fun and very motivating. He teaches Crossfit Elements for all fitness levels. The gym is clean and approachable for all. The workouts are intense and your working-out different parts of your body every day. It's not boring.........It's staying fit! Need to get fit.....request Felix! read more

Most supportive fitness environment that I've found. Members' fitness levels vary from amazingly fit to just starting a retiming to get more healthy. The workouts all have scales to allow all to participate. You are only pushed to give your personal best. No judgements, even if people are competitive with each other. Goood people. No frills environment. Better physical health. read more

I am a huge fan of Crossfit Providence! The facility itself is great - it's one of the biggest crossfit gyms I've seen and it's very well stocked with equipment. The location is convenient with two parking lots. They have classes throughout the day making it easy to go. The programming seems very well thought out and they even include mobility. The biggest draw, however, are the coaches. All of the coaches are amazing - knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and incredibly helpful. The beauty of Crossfit is that while it's an intensive exercise regimen it's very scalable and accessible to everyone. This is especially true at Crossfit Providence. If you have ever considered joining a Crossfit gym, Crossfit Providence is definitely the way to go. read more

I have been a member of Crossfit Providence for a little over a year now, and I am overwhelmingly satisfied with my experience here. Crossfit affiliates are different than your usual commercial gym: there is a different workout every day, you do the workout scaled to your ability with others, and you are able to compare your results to benchmark workouts over time. The level of support among the members and between the staff and members is second to none. There are different levels of intensity for different levels of fitness (Boot Camp vs. Regular classes, for example), and everyone who invests the time and effort will see improvement in their health and fitness. Just all around excellent. read more

I can't speak highly enough of the team at CrossFit Providence! As someone new to CrossFit I was impressed by the welcoming environment created by the coaches and others in the gym. Great workouts, including potential modifications to make movements accessible to all skill levels. read more

I worked out with CrossFit Providence for two years and I can honestly say it was the best gym I have ever been to. Going into it I knew nothing about CrossFit, but they teach you proper form and technique right from the start. Tanner (the owner) is a great coach who really gets the most out of you everyday. I learned so much and got into the best shape of my life at this gym. If you are looking to workout, but don't know where or how to start I would highly recommend this gym. Thanks for everything CFP! From fitness to health and everything in between, you guys get it! read more

Awesome environment! Awesome people around! My first time there and everybody, from staff, to regulars, were very accommodating! I absolutely love this place and I will most definitely be back AGAIN!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOO! read more

Crossfit Providence - Trainers Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

This will be my sixth year training at CrossFit. I'm a college football and lacrosse player, and I can't imagine my life any other way. Thoughtful, intelligent, badass trainers. Whether you're looking to very strong, very fast, or just trying to look better naked, this is the place for you. read more

Great gym with great coaching. I've always felt welcomed and supported, and have made significant gains since joining in 2015. The coaches really get to know your areas of strength and weakness, focus on your needs, and keep on you until you get it right. Keep it up! read more

I'm a big chubby out of shape dude. For some reason I can't get enough of this place, and they don't even serve pizza! Every time i'm midway through the hour, I hurt. I'm sweaty, and I can't believe I'm doing what I'm doing. But afterwards I feel great. After 3 months, I've noticed changes in my body, kinda like puberty. I feel more more manly, my boobs are growing (or pecs, or whatever), and my core feels stronger. Also I think I kinda maybe have some biceps. The trainers are all nice and supportive, and if you have an injury or weakness, the workouts are scaled to whatever you're capable of. Come check it out! read more

CrossFit Providence has changed my life, and I love it for that very reason. However, with their growth and popularity the gym is becoming too crowded and on some days equipment is in such high demand that there isn't enough to go around. read more

The workouts are amazing. The only reason why i don't give it five is because now their place is so huge that i feel for me, it is my opinion only! it can be hard to keep track who is doing what or how well we are lifting. But the work out not just here pretty much at the crossfit places i have been are awesome. Some people like to train with lots of people , but for me since i am lifting i want to make sure my form is right to avoid injury i feel like with so many people attending it is hard to keep track. The place i go now is less people in AM and they def pay attention to everything we do :). I guess it all depends what type of personality you have when working out. read more

Crossfit Providence is a local affiliate of a global fitness movement. I don't know what to say about this place except to compare it to other fitness facilities. Crossfit Providence is owned and operated 3 great guys who really believe in fitness and your well-being. Its not owned by some guy who has leased a cheap industrial space and thrown a bunch of cardio and Nautilus equipment inside. I was a Crossfit Providence 'member' for 2 years before I relocated and I can say, this is the greatest 'gym' and community I have ever belonged to. Great place to workout and hangout with like-minded individuals. read more

Great box, friendly trainers, and welcoming drop-in policy. Dropped in while in Providence. The Box is close to the Hilton (~.5 run). They were very welcoming, let me get a good workout in, and sent me on my way. Perfect. Will definitely be back when I pass through Providence. read more

Excellent CF gym! I have dropped in 3 times so far (from New Jersey) and each time the coach was more welcoming than the next. Really embraces the community feel - you are not an outsider at all. Names are shared, everyone cheering everyone else on, and of course, appropriate butt-kicking WODs! read more

I'm an out of towner who dropped in on three wods over the span of a week. I absolutely loved it here! The coaches are friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and super helpful. I don't know if this is representative of their programming, but there was a lot of emphasis on skill work, which was great for me. I really improved my form for rowing, deadlifts, and rope climbs. This gym is almost awesome enough to make me move here! read more

Excellent staff. It is clear that they value each member's health, especially when it pertains to form and safety. Overall great leadership and fun environment to achieve personal wellness goals, whatever those may be. read more

I love this place! I have not only received the best athletic training I have ever experienced, but I have made an entirely new group of friends! I love the coaches, the members and the facilities. The coaches and staff take pride in their business and they care about members reaching their goals. I love that there are so many class times to choose from and that each coach offers a bit of their personality in the coaching style. Feedback is listened too, thanks to that there are now showers! A+ Love it! read more

Great space with an amazing team of coaches! In just under three months of joining, I already feel fitter and stronger than before, thanks to the kickass WODs and motivating atmosphere. Highly recommend! read more

Love Crossfit Providence. I've been training in crossfit for nearly 8 years, but at Crossfit Providence for the past two. Tanner's programming helped me hit personal bests that I never imagined I could achieve. The focus is on health and wellness, which translates into overall improvement in body mind and spirit. From the first day I walked I was welcomed into a family and that holds true today. It truly is a special community. read more

The trainers are nice here, but the Bootcamp is kind of dangerous. The groups are super large and the instructors never show you how to do any of the exercises properly. It's a very fair price, but most of the other gyms in town are better. Also, not very well managed, sometimes at 6:30 am instructors couldn't show up and there was no sub provided. So, you got up early for nothing. While the instructor had a really valid excuse why he couldn't be there, the manager should have sent a replacement. read more

The standout for this CF is the genuinely very friendly, enthusiastic, down to earth trainers who will kick your #@!$!!. I was here for a few months but not likely to return in the future due to pulling out my back with excessive weight. read more

Box is awesome. Coaches as superb ie Jeff and Jerry. Just wonderful!

I have had the pleasure of working with and working out at crossfit providence for the past 3 years. They sponsor my not for profit Crossfit Affilate Crossfit Sime out of Central Falls High School. They support my program by holding fundrasiers every year to send my students to Obstacle course races. Over the years they have sent them to a total of 5 races. I cannot say how much this high school program benfits the students of Central Falls. With out the help and support from CrossFit Providence my program would not be were it is today. The Coaches at CFP are world class in my opinion. They know all the componets to all of the olympic lifts and how to instruct them.. Because of there expertise I am a healther stronger individual and best of all i am better educated on how to coach my students. read more
