This is my first time dropping in to a box and they were so nice. I signed up online to reserve my spot. When I got there, Bethany greeted us and gave us a tour and showed us around. If you're looking to simply move and get some good mobility and knowledge, this might be the place for you. If you are looking to be pushed and get a challenging work out, don't bother. Six years of crossfit and I've visited half a dozen boxes but this place was a joke. Members were friendly but Bethany had a thin mask of friendliness and micromanaged everything from no chalk to no water in the gym. She even told me at one point during the lift to not push too hard since I'm on vacation. Due to the small size of the gym, even though I paid for a full week, there was no option for staying after to work on any lifts in my current cycle, and was told open gym time is only for members. Needless to say I won't be going back. Even though I paid for a week and only used two days, I'd rather check out another local box. read more

Coach Corey was knowledgeable, friendly, and modified workout for injuries and the fact that we hadn't worked out in a week. My home away from home. I was visiting Kauai for two weeks and I dropped in here to maintain my fitness. It did not disappoint! Charlotte and Cory were impeccable coaches that really knew their craft. Cory even modified some of the exercises to adapt to my level of experience, and paid close attention to be sure I had correct form above anything else. My fellow crossfitters were always welcoming and warm, and treated me like their long time friend. When I got home, friends and family commented that I looked in better shape than when I left for vacation! Not typical, but totally possible if you let Charlotte and Cory train you! After visiting Crossfit Kauai last year over the holidays, I was glad to see Charlotte again in the new box, and to find the great community that made me wish I'd dropped in the first day of my trip, rather than the last, as I did last time. Crossfit Kapaa is one of my favorites, of the likely 15-20 boxes I've visited over the years. It took a little work to find (go around the side of the empty, for-lease retail location out front), but I got what I came for... my ass kicked. Win. The community is fantastic; everyone is really nice and super welcoming and supportive (which I needed to push through, after weeks of getting zen in yoga instead of hitting the gym), likely in part because its a smaller gym. Despite the smaller size, the coaching top notch. Charlotte clearly cares about her craft, and knows it backwards and forwards, as well as Mobility. She and her team are even starting a kids and teens program, which I wish I'd had back in the days I was in high school gym class, so that if have skipped Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding. If you're local or just visiting, definitely drop by CFK, meet the fine folks who work out there, and all of your dreams will come true. read more

I love this box. Everyone here is extremely supportive. Just when you think you can't complete a WOD everyone starts cheering you on and it is amazing. The community here is amazing. Charlotte and David are great coaches! They can tailor any workout to fit your fitness level. Just an amazing and welcoming place to workout at! Crossfit Kapa'a is a grassroots business that emanates community. The owners genuinely care about the quality of their classes and programming, and are open and welcoming to all visitors. They were incredibly accommodating when we requested early early early open gym times to be able to do our own workouts. They offered us bikes to ride around and provided us with tons of local activity ideas. They made us feel like their space was our own. During our 8 day stay in Princeville, Kauai, my wife and I both got 1 week passes at CrossFit Kapaa and they were WELL WORTH IT. The owner, Bethanie, a CrossFit veteran and crazy knowledgeable coach happened to be our coach every morning we went. The place has everything needed to maintain those gainz while away on vacation. Very clean and well maintained space. We loved that there was a little play area at the front desk for our two little girls (5 and 2) to play while we got in our WOD. Myself as a coach, I learned so much from Bethanie during our time there. The tip of the iceberg for me was doing 19.1 at CrossFit Kapaa and having Bethanie judge me. She pushed me and really got me out of my head when I wanted to set that wall ball down. After the work out, she spent a good amount of time with me just breaking down my pace, positives and negatives, where I could've improved, and where I was strong. I've never gotten that thorough of a post-mortem before and it was so refreshing to know someone was really watching exactly what I was doing, and to have someone so skilled break it down for me. Also, my wife is currently 6 months pregnant and Bethanie was so accommodating to modify WODS for her and make sure she was moving correctly and safely. Kauai is our happy place and now we know exactly where we need to come back to for our CrossFit fix. read more

Safety, stretching, and proper technique are important to CF Kapaa. Wow! Love this little box! The owner, Charlotte and coaches Cory and Dave were amazing. We did the drop in for the week, since my husband and I are hopelessly addicted and the WODS were fun, challenging and the coaches provided a lot of feedback. Coming from the home of Crossfit and having a large box to work out in, it's so fun visiting and seeing what other places offer. We started our week with a grueling beach WOD nearby - it was Friggen Hard and Fun! Hope that Crossfit Kapaa does well - I would love to come back and work out here. The people who put in countless hours of training, time and dedication to bring people a healthy, result-driven environment and lifestyle. Charlotte(owner and coach) is one of the most knowledgeable coaches on the island, bringing her years of crossfit and coaching to a box that will have you wondering why yours doesn't operate the same way back home. The environment is very inviting, accepting of people from all walks of life. While doing a WOD any of the coaches are willing to jump in and help correct your form or explain(remind) you how to do any of the workouts. The best part of the box though is this it a just a FUN group of people, people who you would want to hang out with outside of the box.
