Crossfit 520 is locally owned and totally community centric. While I go to this gym for personal training sessions, I'm usually there while classes are in session and I get to see all of the action. The trainer I work with is also one of the instructors, and he's awesome! Not sure what Crossfit really is? It's basically high intensity internal training comprised of a mix of strength training, Olympic weightlifting, cardio (they have Assault Air Bikes, rowing machines and a Ski Erg), core strengthening exercise, etc. Honestly, I'm still wary of certain Crossfit exercises or those that are more specific to heavy duty Olympic weightlifting, but it also comes down to who you work with and how the classes are managed. In this case, Cross520 offers a safe environment with thoughtful and focused instructors leading the classes. I have yet to see the silly crossfit exercises like pushing giant tires around- and if that day should come, I will just say no!
I've been an active person for many years, but I can definitely say that ever since I started to incorporate Crossfit into my exercise regimen, my fitness level is the best it's ever been. If you're at all curious about checking out a Crossfit gym or looking for a personal trainer, I recommend you add Crossfit 520 to your list. They also have a locker room, a few showers, and a kitchen area. I enjoy it so much here that I drive 25 minutes in each direction, three times a week. read more
