Always a great experience when we go! We've been coming here for years and the food and service has always been very consistent! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is always fresh and delicious! They have daily specials which include tons of local produce and they always have something new and exciting. There is usually a bit of a wait to get seated, but it is always worth it!

TL/DR: the specials seem awesome, but apparently sell out fast A cute little space, with a lot of staff on hand, clearly a favorite of locals. There were some awesome specials that our somewhat harried server belatedly told us were sold out- after we'd ordered them, and she headed back to the kitchen to place our order. Uh....OK, so staying on top of things wasn't her key skill set, I guess. My SOS was good, though I couldn't shake the feeling that maybe the dried beef was Hormel quality (IFYKYK). It still hit the spot, and I'd come back again if I passed this way.

Well I'm glad I decided to give it another go- I've now been coming semi regularly over the past year or two and have enjoyed it immensely. I particularly love that I can get a combo with eggs meat and French toast - the combo platter. The baked goods are also heavenly - had pumpkin bread pudding and a raspberry muffin both to die for. Their coffee is good too. They're definitely always busy which is great for them but the wait can sometimes be a little long. Sometimes the tables are a tight squeeze and they run out of specials - but this is all just a testament to how good they are. Last time we put our name and were told it was be a 20 minute wait, we came back maybe 12 minutes later and they had given our table away so we had to wait longer - but then they offered to text another group after us. That's been the only real problem I've had but overall exceptional. Oh and I like the potatoes the old way - but that's just me. However you can ask for them with onions which I never knew until I asked. They make the best eggs - hands down.

My wife, friends, and I wanted to get some late breakfast after our conference and based on your Yelp reviews, Cross Keys Diner was our choice. We made a very good one. There's nothing really fancy about what I think is a converted house into a diner; just the boisterous crowd (ourselves included), great coffee and better food. We all didn't eat breakfast, so we were famished when he got in a bit after 11am. I checked in and they have signage that you will not be seated until everyone in your party is present. Once this was the case, we only waited maybe five minutes before being seated at the no frills table and chairs. The menu is a typical diner menu with a little bit of everything. We all wanted breakfast. My one friend had the French toast, my other had a French Toast "sandwich" which had eggs and home fries, and my wife and I had omelettes. Mine had hot sausage, peppers, fresh greens, and mozzarella to go with the three eggs. The home fries were nice and crispy. All of the comfort food put us into comfort comas. The coffee was nice and hot, and we wolfed the food down quickly. Service was friendly and fast. Parking is free off to the side in their own lot. Seems like a lot of regulars come here. Prices were reasonable. $80 including a hefty tip for four meals and three coffees.

The food and service was exceptional! Pleasant atmosphere, with fast service. Plenty of easy parking. We had to wait a few minutes for a table.

Had a super breakfast. Vegetable egg white omelette was so good. Came with nicely prepared potatoes. Also sky a short stack of wonderful buttermilk pancakes. Service was efficient. Ambiance is a throwback with 70's music. Love this place.

Radio was loud rock. Potatoes were way too salty. Waitress had the personality of a dinosaur. Overpriced. Other than that it was average.

A little pricey. My omelette was greasy. Everyone is nice and the food is ok. I think they need to reduce the carbs and grease.

Fun local hole in the wall diner with good food. The lines are long on the weekends so get there early or wait on the covered porch.

Although it is clearly a beloved neighborhood cafe, our experience did not shine as bright for us as we had hoped. A fun twist of events we actually had an "Aunt Judy" sighting while we were dining. She popped in briefly, was immediately greeted by the locals and disappeared as quickly as she arrived. It added a personal touch and put a face to the place. Adorned in Phillies regalia Aunt Judy's shows the marks of years of patronage. The creaky floors, chipped paint and well worn furniture show this place is a staple of the community and definitely well loved by the locals The food was only average and the service although friendly lacked the attentiveness we typically experience eating out. While I am glad we got to check it out, I'm doubtful we will make the trip to visit again. Judging by the steady stream of regulars it will be there for years to come.

It was all exciting about trying some very interesting dishes on the pre-fix meal, but unfortunately, it was not the stellar experience that I was hoping for. For starters, our server and "Director of First Impressions", Amber, was cold, aloof, and disconnected. She was just running through her role in a very detached manner. We made no connection with our server and the server is 50% of the experience. She was rushing. No one was there yet to take her time, and we felt that we had no connection with our server whatsoever. She didn't show any passion for the dishes other than sharing what she felt were her favorites. In a restaurant, speak in creative terms about the food, have and show passion for the food you represent. The four of us discussed the menu, and we all aligned and were going to taste around the table. Between the four of us, one tried the Thai pork dish, one the shrimp dish, and two the eggplant Parm dish. In summary, we all felt that they were underwhelming, and they missed their mark on expectation and wow factor. For example, the Thai pork dish that I had was supposed to have a Thai flair to it. If there was any, it was on the lower end of the flavor profile. It was a tiny dollop of some sort of red Thai chilli sauce, but it wasn't enough of a flavor profile to make me say yes, that's Thai-inspired, and frankly, it was lukewarm, yes the meat was tender. My wife and a friend had the eggplant Parm dish and also felt uninspired by their dishes. One was overcooked compared to the other; the two asked for additional sauce to give it some more flavor. Yes, it was a nice evening out, and you get a lot for your money with a multi-course dining experience. One other oddity. During the dessert course, which was a type of bread pudding, we were not offered coffee nor tea. Even it would have been extra, who doesn't offer a hot beverage with dessert, especially in the artic temps we are experiencing this winter. I had nearly an hour drive home, and coffee would have been most appreciated. Oh well. So in summary, I would have expected this to be a five-star review all day long. Unfortunately, it's not even close,e and this is coming from 2 couples opinion.
