I needed to return an item that was actually theirs and was told I could not or would have to come back the next day. I spoke to 2 mgrs. and both could not make an easy decision about one return. It was the most ridiculous situation, and now we will not shop at Crosby's because the customer service is HORRIBLE. Live in the area. Concord has zero real grocery stores, just two small markets one of which is Crosby's. Crosby's used to be a good place to pop in at lunchtime if one needed something quick. They used to have premade hamburgers, cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, and Angus burgers. Also hot dogs & often pizza logs. Roughly Fall 2024, something changed and all that went away, replaced by the most Godawful fish burgers & fried chicken w/cheese burgers on the planet. my dog won't even touch them. The other burger types are basically gone. Many work crews are dropped off at Crosby's at lunchtime and are forced to buy what's available, so I'm sure they eventually sell all those unappetizing fish & chicken monstrosities. The bottom line is they need to go back to producing decent food. Whoever is running the kitchen should be shown the door & a professional cook hired. read more

Okay all I got was a made for me Italian sandwich. It was a great sandwich with a lot of flavor and texture. It was also a great deal.

Given that I shop here nearly everyday, it has to be pretty good. It's small and so the selection is less than the big grocery stores, but they do a good job with what they have. The real reason to come here is the quality meat and seafood at a fair price. The beef, for its quality, is the best in the area. And the seafood is a very good price for not being previously frozen. The store itself is a little old and could use a refresh, but if you look past that, Crosby's is a solid local grocery store. read more

Good selection for a small local supermarket. Not the cheapest, and not the best place for fresh produce, but it has the stuff that you expect to find in a supermarket but won't find at Whole Foods, Concord Market or other upscale places. I also like that Crosby's employs some disabled people (who are invariably helpful); we should expect to pay a bit more for that, and if you live in Concord you can probably afford it. read more

Terrible produce. Just terrible. Expensive and we ALWAYS end up throwing about 10-25% directly into the compost. We have - literally - gotten home to pick through strawberries that already have mold on them. (I had to update my review after this experience) The drive to Roche or Idle (both 10 minutes west out Rt. 2 in Acton) is well worth the drive. I make a huge, and probably unnecessary, effort to avoid shopping here. read more

What Crosby's has going for it is that is a) it is reasonably close to my house and b) they have High Lawn Farm milk, the kind my family likes. I guess the new/expanded alcohol section is good for profits, but I shop at a grocery store for groceries, not alcohol (call me old-fashioned). Think of Crosby's as an alternative to 7-11 when you run out of a necessary item and you will be ok. A community-minded market, one of the few that is committed to employing people with disabilities. The store has most of the basics, plus a decent wine and beer selection. I've shopped at this Crosby's since we moved to Concord almost 15 years ago. It's convenient, friendly, and I totally respect their hiring policies. They must have tremendous loyalty to their employees, keeping people who are perhaps challenged in various ways and wouldn't be able to get a good job otherwise. However, their prices are often not ideal; they're more like the local convenience store you go to when the good stores are closed, or when you don't have time to drive to Stop & Shop. Their produce is abominable - I've seen rotting peppers, the garlic and onions are usually sprouting on the shelves, and it's a good bet that at any time half the potatoes are turning green. Don't even think of buying time-sensitive fruit (strawberries or nectarines, for example) here. They shoved out some desirable products to make room for their unnecessary wine and liquor. I want to like them, but I have been let down by their produce too often. read more

Does the job of a small local grocery store. Has most of what you need but your going to pay a little more than "normal". Vegetables aren't your freshest also not that much to choose from. They recently started selling beer and wine and have a rather large selection of those (obviously alcohol pays better than vegetables!). Great little local supermarket. They have amazing selection given the small size; they keep everything stocked, and the people who work there are nice enough. Some of the employees who stock the shelves are completely clueless but others know everything; you just have to ask whoever is manning the 12- items line and not waste your time w anyone else. Workers are polite unlike the teen cashiers at Shaws who are always swearing and acting like they'd rather be elsewhere. I love this place bc its small enough I can always find what Im looking for. Produce is nothing special and the strawberries have been moldy several times but no other produce has been bad and they are quick to refund if anything is bad. read more

This place is so egregiously expensive it's ridiculous. Way more expensive than anywhere else around and the quality is generally terrible. The produce is not fresh and if not consumed very quickly, goes bad. The quality of the meats in the butcher shop is lacking too. I would say this place is about 25-30% more expensive than Whole Foods, which as we all know has much better quality. A better alternative for produce that is close is Trader Joe's, Verrill Farm, Idlewylde farm etc. read more

I don't make it a point to shop here, but like anyplace, it will work in a pinch. They have cute little carts for kids to shop with, so that is a bonus. Prices are pretty off the wall. Most items on my grocery list are more expensive then Whole Foods, and that right there will tell you it's not cheap. The processed foods they carry even seem expensive... I guess their sale items are pretty good. The 2 other things I can give them credit for is having Honey Baked Ham in the store during the holidays, and contributing in a positive way by employing men and women with special needs... you can't judge that one bit. I agree with the other reviewers about this store, but I've found that they have very consistently low prices on very specific regular things like the yogurt I buy, which makes me come back there. I actually find the staff pretty nice and a little quirky, but the people who shop there, however, apparently can't see non-white people. And they certainly don't have non-white people food there. I have been cut off in the deli and cashier line too many times to remember! I need a break from the white people store. read more

Recently reminded me of how shopping must have been in the 70's. the staff is pretty depressed and not at all helpful. Recently went in with a coupon that after 5 minutes of fooling around the cashier decided that she had no idea how to ring it up and left for help. The meat department is a joke. Crosby's has a very limited food selection, particularly in the frozen foods section. Most trips to Crosby's end with my shopping list only half-purchased. But if you're excited about such things, they have a senior citizen discount (5%) on Wednesdays. read more

My husband and I just moved to Concord and were thrilled to be close to a supermarket however it looks like we will be using it more like a convenient store (for in case of emergency situations) as opposed to a regular market. While their selection is still very limited, like every other store around here, their quality is far above anywhere else that I've found. There might be better, but I haven't seen it. Crosby's isn't a great gorcery store at all. I find that 90% of what I go in to find isn't there. The employees are also incredibly rough around the edges- to the point that I felt like I was offending one of them by asking for help to find something. They get an extra star though because they provide commuters with a place to park, since the train stop has a whopping 12 spaces. Because of the free parking provided by Crosby's, I will continue to make some purchases, but the lack of variety makes it impossible to ever do a big shopping trip there. read more

Appalled by the poor planning the Stop and Shop company has displayed to people trying to use commuter rail in Concord, MA. Suddenly (in the space of 2 months and without notice) the company decides to generate revenue by restricting parking spots for local commuters and selling more expensive permits to out of towners. Suddenly commuters are informed the need to spend hundreds of dollars for 60 days for parking that has always been granted free as part of an agreement to expand their retail footprint. Very very disturbing and shows a marked disrespect for the community. read more

I like that the store is not so big, you get in and out pretty quick. The staff is mostly useless and not friendly in my opinion. If you need 2 or 3 products and Crosby's is the closest, go there. If you need more, try any other store in the area. read more

I was surprised to find a Crosby's so far from the North Shore. I really enjoy this market. This was one of the bigger buildings that I've seen. Packed with goodies and free samples. My partner and I tried some delicious fish pate and ended up purchasing a container. They also had ruteabega cubes which are hard to find. Yes, I love those things and hate cutting them up. The prices were good, similar to other locations. The bagger was super friendly and really engaged with us which isn't something you usually see. I wish they were closer as I'd love to go back and become a regular! read more

I'm loyal to Crosby's because they're loyal to Concord: the store is a generous supporter of a host of local charities (schools, Open Table, Emerson Hospital, and others) and makes it a point to employ handicapped people from the surrounding area. That is really admirable and I'm willing to spend a couple of dollars more to frequent a place that participates in the life of the community. As for product offerings: This is the ONLY supermarket that has consistently fresh fish at reasonable prices, and I'm happy they're so close. The meat is also excellent. The produce department is not exciting (which is why I don't give them five stars), but I can always get day-to-day stuff--broccoli, carrots, zucchini, sweet potatoes, bananas. (If I want a big bunch of seasonal fruit and veggies, I go to Idylwilde's or to a local farm stand.) The employees have always been super-nice and helpful to me. And they keep convenient hours for us (today is Easter, for example, and they're open until noon. Other places are closed, period.) read more

Crosby's is fine as a convenience store, but for major grocery shopping it can't compete with the major chains on price nor selection. The one thing about Crosby's that is irksome is that their inventory control is lacking. They are chronically out of certain items, yet it does not seem to dawn on them that's an indicator that they should be ordering large quantities of those items. read more
