Little boys are hungry beasts, and after a day of playing in the sun, climbing hills and trees, there's nothing quite like something steaming hot from Pizza Del Aureos' pizza oven. Our standing order is cheesy garlic bread sticks with pepperoni and a smear of barbecue sauce. It's a very hardy snack and a very reasonable price. The crust is similar to a well made focaccia with big, airy dough bubbles and a tender chew. In addition to the cheesy garlic breadsticks, we also ordered the cheeseburger Granwich. They use the same pizza dough for the Granwichs, which elevates the whole hamburger experience . Owners Bob and Kathy are wonderful hosts, eagerly chatting it up with every customer, even silly ones like my boys! They have the unique ability to make everyone feel totally welcome!

Choosing the medium, the portion of roast beef was generous. So generous, in fact, that the roll was too small for the sandwich. It was served with au jus to the side and potato chips. The roast beef, allegedly freshly made, tasted clayish. Salt was the dominant flavor, hardly any caraway seed flavor. About half way into the sandwich, I wondered if there was any horsedsdish on the bun. Truly, it was hard to tell, but if there was, it was overwhelmed by the salt along with the caraway. Perhaps there was too much meat for the roll? Lazy caraway seeds? Not enough horseradish? Whatever, it was, at best, disappointing. Now I didn't try anything else and other diners seemed happy plus service was prompt and helpful, the setting friendly and pleasant, so I am reluctant to give two stars but that's actually a more accurate grade for the sandwich.
