I'll start with-- this is a cute little restaurant in a cute little downtown of Thomaston…read more We didn't have a reservation but it was a cold Sunday night after daylight savings so everyone was likely home complaining about how dark it was so early. Needless to say, we got seated right away. They seem to prefer reservations though. My favorite thing? The small rotating menu. It's nice to see them try to do only a few dishes really well. The service was good. The menu had some solid options. The food? We had the steak chili, shrimp allá vodka and the pizza with pumpkin. All the dishes were very delicious. But really, the shrimp allá vodka sauce was actually so good. We did not want the dish to end. Why the 4 stars? Our $27 shrimp dish only had 4 small shrimp in it. While it was very delicious we called the shrimp "gold" because there were so few and they were so good that it was like finding gold in your plate when the bite had it in it. The other piece, I read this in a review below, but decided to try it for myself. There seems to be a problem with their ventilation system in the kitchen. We were sitting at our table and suddenly it got Smokey but not like visible smoke but you felt it in your eyes. One of my eyes started watering and burning and then my son said his eyes were hurting even though I didn't say anything about it. It seems odd, but definitely impacted our dining experience. This place is a great little gem and we will come back when a new menu is around to try all the new in season dishes.

This place intrigued me with its ever rotating menu as they use what we fresh ingredients that may be available at the time. We began with salmon croquettes and carrot ginger soup-both were great but the soup was seriously out of this world-just the perfect amount of flavoring! My husband had the birria tacos and I had the risotto. Portions were large and reasonably priced. It really is a tiny saloon that probably can't fit more than 20 people or so unless you sat at the bar, but it was phenomenal. I do wish restaurants in the area offered dessert, but maybe there more of a big city thing?

It should be called Ten Star Fresh! They are a small outfit that sells their pasta at their manufacturing location in Biddeford, Maine. Just email them if you are anywhere within 30 minutes of Biddeford and see what time you can buy their pastas or be at the Kennebunk Farmers Market first thing Saturday mornings before they sell out. Email ahead if you need gluten free which is made on the same equipment as regular pasta. However, people with celiac disease have eaten it with no side effects so it just depends on how sensitive you are to wheat. Amazing quality and taste. The best gluten free pasta anywhere and I have tried them all. I live in the greater Boston area (two hour drive) and will definitely be a repeat customer. Worth the time and trouble to find this pasta for family members that have celiac disease and are gluten intolerant. Eric and Susan are super customer friendly and this is the first time I added a business to Yelp just so I could post a great review. Eric said to email him anytime I wanted lasagna noodles, etc... It's so rare to find accommodating businesses these days. They have a cute motto too: "Too small to fail." I think what makes their pasta so wonderful is they do it all themselves and take the time to personally make the pasta, roll it, and cut it. Visit their Facebook page. They offer classes on how to make pasta, etc...

The flavor was exceptional and I savored every bite. For my main I got their gnocchi dish. These were by far the lightest most fluffy gnocchi I have ever experienced. For desert I got a lemon cake that had a drizzle in the sponge to make sure it stayed moist and delicious. I would happily eat anything that comes out of this kitchen. Service: All of their wait staff was exceptional. They were courteous and went the extra mile to make dinner a fine dining experience. The only weak point was their hostess. I had a reservation but still had to wait ~15 minutes for a table after waiting ~5 minutes for the hostess to show up in the first place. Once the hostess was working again she regularly brushed past customers waiting in their overfilled waiting area and glared at people in her way. I understand her frustration but that is not an excuse to glare at customers. Ambiance: The waiting area was cramped but once we were seated the tables were spaced out enough that it didn't feel congested. There were lots of little nooks and crannies so each table had their own little area.

Kept checking menus and reviews and most places were pizza joints with some pasta so we passed. Today we found ports of Italy... the menu screams authentic and the food followed through with that claim. Service was impeccable and our waiter spoke Italian (and English). I did not expect such a place in BB! Ambiance is classy country with a few tables with a view and enough noise blocking roof tiles to cut the voice volumes so you dont have to yell. Oh and they have lobster ravioli which looked great but we passed !! Great place !

We watched the Bear s2e7 after and I was reminded what incredible service we just had at Sadie's. We got the oyster special, with a tropical fruit mignonette. It was one of the most unique seafood dishes I've ever had- I am usually anti anything on an oyster but these enhanced the damariscotta oysters so much. We also got the blackened shrimp cocktail that were amazingly prepared- so tender and flavorful. I will probably base my future dining choices on those blackened shrimp! My entree was the baked stuffed haddock, which I thought would be much richer than it was. This dish was probably my least favorite but it was still better than other restaurants. Our favorite cocktail was the fig martini, a very unique drink. I loved all the specials and would recommend ordering from there. You must call well in advance for reservations. The ambiance is definitely family friendly, there are steep stairs to get to the 2nd floor Restaurant, they do have a chair lift. Parking was tough, you are competing with the marina too. We had to park on 27.

I am not sure what has gone on especially in the past 18 months, but after the last four consecutive visits, the food has been just dreadful. Over cooked, under cooked, slimy/greasy, bland, over frozen, dry. So sad. Places like this shine for me and it is so sad when things fall apart. Today I got the Chicken Parmesan prepared meal from their reach in section. It really did look so yummy. I took it home and heated it up on the stove over low heat like I always do to ensure food that is cooked is not over cooked in the re-heating process. Little did I know that the chicken was already over cooked. When I took the first bite of chicken I was not sure what shocked me first: The total blandness of the chicken, the hardness and obviously over frozen-ness of it, or the over cooked of it. Over frozen has a very distinct taste. And this chicken had it. I think it was frozen, thawed too quickly, cooked (over), then re-frozen. This is just not what you do to food that is supposed to be as good as it is supposed to be here. I hope you guys figure things out. The last meal was the lasagna and it was so greasy omg. And it was similar with the spicy sausage pasta a few months ago - just so very grossly greasy I could not eat more than a few forkfuls. And the chocolate cake - i was totally bummed because on the lid you have a label that says "Our delicious moist chocolate cake". It was so dry, i had to toss it after two bites. You guys had a fantastic reputation. I cannot spend my money here anymore, but even more than that, I do not want to risk eating a bad meal.
