The interior could use a tad bit of "modernization" however. The seating is a tad bit outdated and some chairs are broken. The bathrooms could use more ventilation. During the summer time. They definitely utilize the AC to the MAX which is a major plus. During the summer time the place is virtually an ice box. , During the winter time. Heat is definitely utilized. They have power outlets. Charged my e-bike a few times here while waiting for the train. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One thing you'll notice is when the Acela passes by at high speeds. The station almost feels like the "I Love Lucy" episode where the bunk beds are sliding across the room when the train passes by in that episode. Lol. ,No chairs move or anything but you can definitely feel the vibration somewhat when the Acela is passing. The staff here is amazing. Very very social and professional. Always smiling and happy. Very relaxed and calm staff. Greetings coming and going which is a major plus. The overall cleanliness is amazing. No trash cans overflowing nor empty toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. Soap dispensers are loaded with soap and the sinks have somewhat good water pressure. The overall environment is very relaxed and very calm. The general crowd is very highly disciplined. Mainly adults. Some kids. All very highly disciplined. There's an attached parking lot on both sides of the station as well as bike racks with surveillance. During the night time, The station is very well lit to deter crime which is another plus. Overall A++++++, The best part of the Odenton station is the staff. The interior infrastructure could use a tad bit of modernization though. During the holidays. The themes are amazing.....

This station services the commuters of Baltimore working in Washington DC. It also makes stops at several towns along the route. One way ticket costs $8. The small lobby was clean and well lit at night. Only problem is the limited operating hours. The last train leave Baltimore to DC at 8:05 a.m. The 1st train leaves DC at 4:13 p.m. for commuters going home. There are no services in between those two times. If you plan accordingly, it is a cheap way to travel to DC from Baltimore for sight touring.

So I've been thoroughly sick of the Penn Line here recently - the trains are always breaking down,…read morelate, etc. I decided to attempt getting to work on the Camden line instead; it turns out that it's actually better for me in some ways. The Camden MARC station is right on the back end of the Light Rail - all I have to do is hop off the train in the morning, and there I am, no walking, no inconvenience. There's only two tracks, so the train will come in on one or the other. There's a small waiting room for those who don't want to freeze to death. And the conductors seem to be a lot friendlier on this line as well, so that's a plus. There are a couple of negatives that prevent this from being a 5-star review: - The Camden line itself doesn't run enough trains. There's maybe 4 or 5 in the morning, 3 at night - that's it. I'm surprised, as this line goes through Laurel, which is really heavily populated. - The Camden line runs those awful single-level cars where everyone's squished into their seats. It's rare to get a bi-level car, but when you do, there's nothing better. This line is much quieter than Penn (despite having almost as many passengers) and, in my opinion, better run. If it was convenient to me in the afternoon I'd use it (unfortunately it takes twice as long to get home), but for the morning run it's perfect - I get off at Greenbelt, transfer to the Green line on WMATA, that's it - no more fussing around at Union Station trying to fight the masses on the Red line.... Love me some Camden.

It is quite easy to navigate with good infographic boards in the waiting room, compared to Penn Station in Newark which is rather confusing. The station may also be cleaner than a decade ago when I saw a mouse or rat at Dunkin my first time here. There is a Dunkin and gift shop with sandwiches. They just restored MTA Light Rail service to the station as well and there are plenty of busses, taxis, and ride share to get around. Late at night the Dunkin and gift shop are closed so I tried for a sandwich from Farmers Fridge which vended but then the outlet slot got jammed, so had to get a refund and wait till I was home over an hour later to eat.

That is the…read moreonly explanation I can provide for giving Penn Station a four star review a years ago, and I thought it was probably time to knock it down to an accurate two stars I've taken hundreds of trains from Penn Station now and also spent quite a bit of time at the Amtrak stations in Philadelphia, DC, and New York City. So I'm very aware that Penn Station is the train station with the fewest amenities at the station. There's a Dunkin' Donuts (which opens at 6:30am on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends) and a little convenient store that sells snacks and other items. And that's it. There are a few bathrooms, some seating, and the tracks. And that's the station. It has an attached parking garage, which is super expensive and a pain to enter, because the station's traffic lanes are stupidly designed and unless you're at the station at a really off-hour, there will be 17 Ubers stalled in the only lane you can drive down to get from St. Paul Street to the parking garage. Can you tell that this place has given me just a smidge of road rage? It definitely has. A while back (maybe 1-2 years ago), there was scaffolding all over the historic train station and there was talk of improvements. After it was all over, I couldn't really tell what they'd done. The station has some charm (the stained glass in the entry area), but it's not a great station. I'm glad it's there, because it allows me to go other places, but it's not a great train station. It'll do.
