My husband and I switched to this dental practice about a year ago a half ago. Every time we have an appointment there is always some issue with the bill, we end up receiving incorrect statements in the mail after paying in person at the end of our visits. In addition the customer service with the front desk in person and over the phone is always lacking. In addition, I was recently 10 minutes late, apologetic when I arrived and was immediately told I wouldn't be able to be seen. I asked if there was anything we could do, the woman at the front desk said she would go back and ask. When she came back she just sat in front of me in silence, so strange. Made me feel very uncomfortable, almost like she was judging me? She was not able to give me an answer about a grace period at all for occasional late arrivals. I work in healthcare and understand running a tight schedule and certainly don't make a habit of arriving late. However, I have seen first hand patients being taken back almost 30 minutes late, so the inconsistent enforcement is frustrating and accommodating some and not others is horrible customer service. Firstly, let me say I'm terrified of dentists like most people. I had actually found this practice by googling dentists near me and I always look at the photos first to look at the set up and cleanliness. This dental practice looked to be very calming to me from the photos and so I decided to take a chance. The practice has a at home feeling with pretty decor and I felt like I was in my friends home. When I arrived the staff was very warm and welcoming- my previous phone conversation was also very pleasant when I arranged my appointment. When the tech took me back to my room she was very friendly and also welcoming. Dr Sood is just very sweet and very thorough. I did not experience any anxiety at all at this practice. She made me feel very relaxed and she is extremely thorough! She answered my questions about my concerns and took the necessary steps as far as imaging to see if we can identify what the issue is. I'm waiting for the ct results however I urge you to try this practice if you're in any way having dentist anxiety! You will not be disappointed. Dr Sood and her staff are top notch! My husband and I have been patients before 2015 and then once my son turned 3 we transferred him over to Crofton Dental Suite. We used to love going to the dentist because the staff gave it such a family environment. Since the practice has been sold, I hate even seeing the number come across my phone. It's always a problem the bill (which is the billing lag time, if Ms. Carla isn't there), no available hygienist, no doctors. I once called because we received a bill for the same amount 4 times in one month and a phone call, to which I called back and no one wanted to call me back and they left it for Ms. Carla to call me back. The issue was the claim had not been filed and instead of checking the records they called me stating the bill was due. Basically the only thing we need to pay for out of pocket is fluoride for my husband and I. I absolutely love Ms. Carla, Michelle (not there anymore), and Dr. Negash, which is why I continued even after Michelle left the practice after it was sold. I was recently called 4 times stating they had a cancelation and tried to get me to move my appointment to an earlier slot, to find out on the day of the appointment no doctors would be available. I cannot wait to find a replacement for my family because the inconvenience is getting out of hand. Now I know my family's dollar will not make or break the practice however, I am VERY big on customer service and since the selling of the practice the customer service has dwindled steadily. Family!!! I can't express how much I love Dr. Richard Carlson and the entire dental staff here. What happen was.. 2017 (yes 2017) I had a filling in a wisdom tooth (don't know why) but it fell out and my dentist in PA referred me to an oral surgeon and said they would put me to sleep to remove it since I'm not used to having teeth removed (I had all my wisdom teeth) I was paralyzed by the thought of being put to sleep. Sooooooo since the tooth didn't hurt, I did nothing. Now it's December 2018 and I am in PAIN, and all dentist I contact in PA are booked Jan-March 2019 because everyone else has booked taking advantage of their end of year deductible. My family recommended this dental office; I have an appointment in 3 days (THANK GOD). I had Raven as the assistant, she was so sweet and helpful. The man of the hour, Dr. Richard Carlson knew I was petrified. He explained every step and totally lessen my anxiety. When he came in the room, he actually thought he was given me bad news telling me he does not put patients to sleep for one tooth(I was so relieved) After Xrays and numbing, the tooth was out in a couple minutes and I seriously had my quality of life back. I can't thank this office enough for taking me so soon. If you are in the area or don't even mind the drive, this is the place to be. read more

I have been going to this dental practice for over 20 years. Dr Craig Stout, who was a graduate from the University of Maryland Dental School has been my dentist. He has been patient with me, never starting until I feel totally numb. I trust his care, and I have had very good results. I also love my hygienist, and the office personnel. They are personable and caring. Yes I brush and floss, which always makes my appointments fairly easy. I do my part, they do theirs and it is symbiotic. I am always comfortable with this office and yes I do recommend them. I am currently changing insurance, but I will make sure this office is part of my new insurance. read more

This review has nothing to do with the Doctors and employees of Crofton Dental. They are really nice people. I am fortunate to have very good dental insurance. I and my wife have been going to Crofton Dental for more than 5 years. Since this practice was purchased by a Corporation, I am being overcharged . If you are going there please make sure you get very good estimates. Otherwise you will be surprised with multiple long bills which are difficult to understand even if you just go there for regular cleaning. read more

Absolutely love the staff at this place. All of the receptionists are so kind to me when I am in there and call to make an appointment or have billing questions. I have had a lot of teeth issues in the last year and they have gone above and beyond to fit me in as soon as they can. Dr. Blais is the dentist I have been seeing most recently, but I have also seen Dr. Stout, both are excellent! I have very sensitive teeth and used to have a very painful experience when I would go to the dentist, but they are very gentle and always do a fabulous job. In the last year Dr. Blais has down numerous fillings for me, a crown, and fixed my front teeth bondage, everything has turned out fabulous, and I am so thankful to have found this place:) read more

My children (teenagers) use this dentist. They were pleased, the tech was nice and professional, as well as the dentists and other staff, and the office seemed well-run. My teens outgrew their pediatric dentist, so they enjoyed the atmosphere here. Any costs are discussed up front, and procedures are explained clearly. It is a large and busy dental practice, and there was a bit of a wait. But patients are not rushed and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. read more

This is a wonderful dental office! We needed to find a new dentist closer to home and I found Crofton Dental Suite through my insurance. I couldn't be happier. Everyone was so polite and welcoming. My daughter and I each had an appointment and for both of us the experience was great. They made us both feel comfortable. The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing. She was so nice! The dentist had a great personality as well. I appreciated that they took the time to evaluate the time between our appointment and the last time we had X-rays to determine if there would be any insurance issues. This review is based on Dr. Carlson ONLY. DO NOT EVER USE HIM AS YOUR DENTIST. I would give negative stars if I could. I was under the impression that I had my filling appointment with the dentist who checked my teeth but apparently he quit the practice in-between the cleaning and my filling appointment this past Friday. I was unaware Dr. Carlson would be doing my procedure until I was sitting in the chair the day of my appointment. I have never had great interactions with him, due to his superior complex and if I knew he was going to be the dentist I would've rescheduled. The procedure was extremely uncomfortable because he rushed through it. At the end I told him that my bite felt off, he ignored my complaint and said that "It's just the bonding agent. It should feel fine later." He didn't even take the time to check. I came back to the office 4 hours later due to the Novocaine wearing off and then I could definitely tell that the bite was off. When he came in he didn't say a word. He just tilted me back, adjusted my bite and asked if I had anything to eat which I said no and then very condescendingly said that if I ate something then this supposed "bonding agent" would've normalized my bite. When I left I could tell the bite was still off and my teeth were very sore and had a sharp zing going through my one tooth, but I just said maybe it's just because I had two fillings done at once. That night I could definitely tell the bite was severely off due to my top fitted mouth guard not fitting properly and anytime I would grind my teeth I got an excrutiating pain. The next two days being the weekend I couldn't eat on that side of my mouth due to the pain and sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. I was hopeful I would be able to call this morning and have my normal dentist who typically does all of my dental work fix what Dr. Carlson did but my luck kept getting better. My dentist is on vacation and I had no other choice but to see Dr. Carlson. As you can imagine I'm already pissed off that I'm coming back a THIRD time when he should've listened to me the FIRST time I was in the damn chair. I had to take off work AGAIN and drive all the way back to MD from VA to see this awful dentist. Then the REAL nightmare began. The hygienist who was in the initial appointment was very kind and asked me what was wrong and I told her that maybe there was a crack in the filling and that the bite was off and I couldn't eat on that side, etc. and so forth. He came in and told me to put my upper mouth guard in which I did. He checked the bite and then took it out. He then asked "which tooth is hurting." I said a generic answer of just everything is hurting and I was explaining and he cut me off and slowly and condescendingly as if I was a child repeated "Which....tooth.....hurts..." I just said I don't know it's one of the two you filled. Mind you they can blow air on your teeth or use the back of one of their tools to tap on the teeth to figure out which one it is. He just stuck the colored paper in my mouth and told me to tap and grind side to side. After the first two times of doing that I just broke down and was sobbing uncontrollably due to the pain. He not once asked me if I was ok, if I needed a minute, or rethought his course of action. The hygienist was the one who asked if I was ok and that's not even her job to do, she's not the one causing it. Once he was done he asked very coldly if it felt better and to have a good day. THAT'S IT. It took every fiber of my being to not cuss this guy out. His lack of sympathy and compassion for a patient is utterly disgusting and appalling. I can't imagine if he were to work on a child. I have never once cried so much from a dentist before in my entire life, but I guess he just thinks I'm being a dramatic and emotional woman. He talked down to me and disregarded everything I said. I feel bad for the women who have to work alongside him. So, in conclusion don't ever subject yourself to this arrogant, narcisstic asshole if you don't have too. I NEVER write reviews because I think everyone has bad days, but his actions and behavior towards me is unacceptable as a medical professional and he should ashamed of himself. I hope Crofton Dental will reprimand him once my formal complaint is made. read more

I had a root canal done yesterday by Dr. Blais and it went perfect. I didn't need to take any pain medication after and I was able to enjoy an ice cold glass of water that same day after not being able to for months. Excellent dental office!! I was assigned a different dentist when I changed insurances and had an awful experience with them. I heard about Crofton Dental Suite from a friend and from good reviews online. I was late because I couldn't find the building (a little tricky - the sign is small!) but the receptionist was so kind on the phone and told me where to go. Dr. Dastani was so warm and friendly and really listened to me as a patient. Cost for services is fair and the staff in general is very attentive, friendly and professional.
