We are incredibly dissatisfied with the quality of our Rivera sectional. Something is wrong with the fabric or fill such that the cushions are constantly sagging and puckering, even with regular rotation. We've contacted local upholsterers and no one can seem to fix this, nevermind that at $15k+ it is ridiculous that we have to fix this just a few years in. For reference, we have purchased furniture from many other chain and custom/designer manufacturers and furniture restorers and have never encountered such poor workmanship.. read more

We ordered a full length leaning mirror and after 9 weeks for production and delivery to NYC, the customer service, logistics coordination and final product are not what was expected after $1700 in product/delivery costs. Our designer suggested a sofa from this store. It is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever sat in. Wire bars hit your legs, back and everything else with no padding. Guests never comment negatively on our furniture and could not believe a) it was new, and b) that sofas could be that uncomfortable We paid an upholsterer to restuff it with no luck. We contacted the store within 6 months of owning it and they refused to address the issue. Do not buy anything from this store. Look at ALL their Yelp reviews - not the filtered ones. I purchased a book-case from Croft House after I found them on Etsy. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, super sturdy (well steel is heavy that's for sure ). It actually looked much daintier on their website than it came out to be much less so, which I was VERY happy with. The I'm so happy with the craftsmanship. Bought a beautiful custom made shelving unit for our home from croft. Kari was great but the results were less than expected in terms of craftsmanship of the drawers (specifically the rails, hardware, and drawer measurements). Also we had issues with the paint/varnish used for the white part of the unit. Croft house came by again to redo it and it still sticks and there are marks everywhere from anything that has been on the shelf for longer than a few hours.. The unit/materials used are beautiful but for the cost (8k), we expected more from the construction. read more

I worked with Alex on a custom kitchen island. He was just excellent in every way. No gaps in communication and my custom order ready exactly on time. I attempted to work with two local fabricators in my area (Monterey, CA) and even though I was working with them in person, they just didn't understand what I was trying to do and quoted me $7,000+ for something that wasn't even close to what I envisioned. Alex and I worked exclusively via phone and email and he totally nailed what I wanted. The concept drawings were exactly as I had envisioned and the finished product is mind-blowingly perfect! Cost: $2800. With the money I saved I bought my dining room table from Croft House, too, and it's beautiful, too!! Don't waste your money anywhere else . . . support croft House! I got a beautiful green marble coffee table from Croft House, and it's been getting all kinds of compliments from the many guests I've forced to admire it in my presence. This was the last major piece of our living room furnishing project (we started with an empty living room a year and a half ago), and we're really quite pleased with it. The design is simple but weighty--a big slab of honed empress marble on a minimal black industrial steel base. The piece is well crafted and functional and I like that it looks unique without being super out there. I went to Croft House specifically to get this table after seeing a larger version of it on the website, with polished marble. I've been working with a Homepolish designer, who told me about Croft House in the first place, and she went and scouted out the table and got me a quote for a custom version with smaller dimensions. I've visited the store a few times since--I live really nearby--to look at the table options, as well as to show the place to my mom, who's started furnishing her own house. It's an attractive store, clean and inviting, with a lot of lovely furniture on display. Not all of it is right for me--we live in a very old colonial-style house, so the reclaimed wood/modern rustic look isn't a great fit--but the pieces look nice overall. The quality seems consistent, and I like that there's a clear aesthetic, even if it isn't exactly mine. My only complaint is with the customer service, which was mostly fine, but gave me a small amount of headache throughout the table-getting process. I talked to several different people at Croft House, in person and over the phone, and almost everyone was friendly and helpful. Ordering was easy, even for a custom piece, I think because there wasn't a lot of design work involved. I didn't really deal with any one person for more than five minutes at a time. I didn't get names, except over email, and I'd be surprised if anyone but the shipping coordinator remembers me at all. It was a pretty hands off process, which I don't mind, except that it caused some problems in communication. The order was placed in my Homepolish designer's name, but she wasn't actually involved in this process after her first visit (this is as much a Homepolish issue as it is a Croft House issue, for what it's worth). I was pretty clear about this with the Croft House team, and wanted to make sure that all communications came to me directly. I didn't think there'd be too much communication--after all, the transaction was simple, just purchase and delivery--but I did expect to hear from them as the delivery date approached. I was told the table would be ready in seven to ten weeks, and called to check up on it when I'd heard nothing after over seven weeks. I was told the table would be ready the week of November 12, just over ten weeks after I placed the order on September 2. That week came and went with no word, and I called again at the beginning of this month to get an update. The table was finally ready for delivery on December 5--I got an email telling me to call and pay the balance and schedule delivery, which I did right away. I was told deliveries went out on Saturdays, and fully expected to get my table that Saturday, December 9. When I heard nothing again, I called on the morning of the 9th, and the coordinator acted surprised that I was expecting delivery, when we hadn't set up the delivery--as if it were my fault that I didn't get in touch. I guess the Croft House team had been contacting my Homepolish person (though they fully had my email address, if not my phone number, which I'm pretty sure I had also given them, and I had said several times that I was the contact), but for whatever reason, I wasn't getting any information out of that channel. None of this sounded like my problem, but hey, I guess it was. I eventually got my table on December 14, three and a half months after I ordered it, and a full month outside of the delivery window. And, of course, I paid $150 for the privilege of this late delivery. Long story short, this was a frustrating, drawn-out process, but in the end, I got an exquisite table that makes me happy whenever I look at it. I'd recommend Croft House for its quality furniture (I took my own mother here after all of this was done). After all, a good table lasts a lot longer than a little annoyance with customer service. read more

AMAZING one of a kind pieces of furniture made right here in LA. The owners, I assume they are the owners (2 men) are very nice and even offer my dog water when I stop by. I stop by often because I'm in love with 2 pieces of furniture - one is an island type piece that could also be used as a wine rack and the other is a high table/bar. The bedframes are pretty damn spectacular too. I brought a friend in the other day and she too melted when she saw a certain platform bed. The prices are very good considering the craftsmanship and quality of each classic piece. My neighbor has a beautiful book shelf from here, that I feel head over heels for. My fiancé and I were looking for a rustic-modern dining table. We feel in love with the railcar dining table online, and when we went to the showroom it was even more beautiful than we expected. Custom bedside table: $500 Est. delivery: 3-4 weeks Actual Delivery (after a few phone inquiries): 6 weeks... ...built with a different color wood than was specified (the whole reason I went with a custom build). I was a good sport and took it home to see if it might work. As much as I wanted to not deal with taking it back and waiting, it just wasn't right and that's what I was paying for so... Est. for staining table darker: a couple days. Actual delivery: 4 weeks. After two calls to the showroom and a text to Riley and then waiting a week with no reply or ETA, I get a call and am told the piece is ready. I arrive at the shop to find the table has been stained, but the surface is rough and scratched and the drawer sticks out slightly. I refused to take delivery and am told by Alicia to write an email with my complaint/request for refund -- at this point, the wait and the lack of communication were enough to feel neglected, but the chewed up and spit out table was the final straw. A reply email stated that they don't do refunds (understandable for custom work) and that the table would be refinished and ready for pickup in 3 days. Assuming the table can be refinished, why wasn't that done already? I had my doubts, and expressed them in an email, but again... you guessed it: There was no reply. So today, 7 days later, I stopped by the showroom to find that the table still hasn't even been sent to the factory. Alicia told me the table would go back to the shop on Monday and would be done in one day. Sure, why not. Ordered on August 17. Still undelivered on November 26, 27, 28.... I blame myself for not putting on the spurs earlier. Now my only recourse is to complain on Yelp, which makes me resent this situation all the more. EDIT: Table was finally delivered (to the store) on December 4. Wood's grain was still damaged but at least the surface was smooth. I could see I wasn't going to get what I wanted without a huge fight. I'm out of energy. Table is pretty as long as you don't get too close. read more

They clearly have great designs and wonderful stuff, my issue is with their lack of communication. I bought a framed print from them and they kept telling me it has shipped and it turned out it had not. When it finally did ship a month after purchase, it had been poorly packed and arrived totally damaged with holes in the cardboard and the box completely opened up during shipping. This was for a purchase of over $1000.00. To date they have been unresponsive to my requests for refund, its unfortunate. I will repost if and when they respond. Again, nothing against their clearly great designs this has to do with customer service for a purchase from out of the area. Very unfortunate, I'm quite disappointed in their lack of response, I'm pretty much getting the blow off. UPDATE: We got a refund, not long after posting this original review. Ordered some of there outdoor sling chairs which took forever to arrive but with Covid will give them a pass on that. The quality is exceptionally poor and the chairs are unfortunately very uncomfortable. It's a pillow on a think plank of plywood and you can feel the wood pushing into you. The joints, seams etc are all slightly off further indicating poor craftsmanship /quality Pictures really oversell it. Return policy is super punitive so we are stuck with these chairs we really dislike. I'd avoid this brand the in person quality and service has been disappointing. read more

My wife and I recently ordered a custom slab coffee table from Croft House. We just got it delivered last weekend and love it! We searched high and low for something we really wanted to no avail. Then we happened by the Croft House one weekend. After speaking with Riley, who designed our table, we were sold! The table was delivered pretty much right on schedule and they worked with us to make sure it was delivered on a convenient day. We didn't mind a little bit longer wait. I thnk it was maybe a week longer than they initially esitmated. These things happen when you go custom! Bottom line, Alex was always helpful when we had any questions. I stopped in here the last time I was in LA. My wife and I had been looking for a night stand for our apartment in San Francisco, and a friend of mine recommended I check out Croft House. The designs they have here are great if you are into a minimalist, natural looking aesthetic, and the pieces are made from high quality materials, very solid. The service here was great too. We ended up having a piece shipped, and the whole process was pretty simple. I have a few pieces from here and honestly they are items that receive complements every time I have company. I had a sofa made custom here that I based on a floor model design. I had the cushions made differently, completely different fabric, color, etc. They didn't make the arms like the floor model but that was my mistake not specifying. You're here, so you already appreciate the look, but know that those who are designing and building the furniture are proper craftsmen; and every piece reflects their pride. Design: check. Quality: check. So how about the rest? Love. The showroom folks are not sales people. They're your stylish friends who know a lot about woodwork and steel (and the other accoutrements that adorn their work). Our pieces had the conventional long lead-time of bespoke offerings, but two were ready early. Just in time for a party, which kicked the love notch up a few ticks. If there's ever a problem or a question Croft House is right there to remedy, answer, whatever is needed to make sure that from every angle, you love what you bought. So my BFF/roomie and I accidentally stumbled upon Croft House showroom whilst searching for something (anything) original for our livingroom revamp. Very frustrating and boring couple weekends of hunting.... I was personally prepared to spend $3K on a 67" console from Restoration Hardware when DC suggested we try La Brea in a last ditch effort to save my purse & indulge his desire to have custom furniture. We found Croft House. Alex and Riley were patient, engaging and talked us through our options. They even customized a bookcase for exact measurements for no extra charge. We bought 3 pieces for what is would have cost us for 1 and the craftsmanship is unbelievable. They delivered and setup all our gorgeous (albeit heavy) new rustic/modern pieces within 3 weeks of our order. Our friends are quite impressed and we feel like we have perfect timeless pieces that show well and wear well. Yeah, these guys were great. Got the railcar bed and the railcar bookshelf/console. Both are gorgeous - the wood is just stunning, and has a ton of character. Both items are also incredibly solid - no creaking or bending in the bed, no risk of sagging in the bookshelf. Great customer service too. When the items were being delivered, the shipping company was being completely inflexible on the delivery. The bookshelf was "too big" for their trucks. After a call, Alex at Croft House immediately commissioned/found a separate truck to pick it up from the carrier and deliver it to my apartment. The only negative was the time it took to complete everything! It was probably ~6 weeks in all - which was quite a bit longer than the original estimate. If you're patient though, you're in for some beautiful furniture. read more
