CRMD combines street culture with sweet in their approach to redefining the local ice cream shop. They always have a great hip-hop playlist blasting when you walk in, but the black-and-white brick and neon-accented decor (particularly the Lick It Real Good sign) is what I'm the biggest fan of - besides their ice cream, of course. Cereal & Milk and Fruity Pebbles are neighborhood favorites but the Choco Mars Swirl is my go-to whenever I stop by on a trip back home. Their freshly made warm Puffle - a fun "egg waffle" with a Belgian flavor - is their specialty cone, made to sop up that little pool of melted ice cream that appears on a hot day, but I prefer a standard waffle cone to keep everything cold. read more

I came here pre-COVID but it was a good time. I ordered the bubble waffle with the cereal and milk icecream. It ended up being a little expensive. They didn't have too much seating inside (not that that's a problem now). Thought the icecream was okay, liked the waffle much more. read more

They let you sample the flavors now! The last time I was here they were out of Matcha but that's okay, it's back now. Also why is the music so loud too! Why does this place think it has to be a night club???? Also the ice cream is so wet. Why? Stop pinching pennies and turn the freezer up. Scooped ice cream should be hard no? read more

I got CRMD for the first time today and it was seriously delicious. The flavors all looked amazing, but they aren't giving out samples currently which made it a little difficult to pick. I went with a scoop of cookie buddah with Reese's on top - super creamy and yummy! It's a little expensive for what you're getting, but I would still go back to try more of their flavors. read more

This place was legit. My first time going in. I got the puffy cone with cookie butter and Oreo. I'm telling you the ice cream was made to perfection. When I got the puffy waffle cone it was actually still warm. Five stars for this experience. read more

This place is adorable! I loved the different approach to the waffle cone and calling it the puffle (tastes like an actual waffle) it was delicious. The base of the majority of their ice cream is vanilla and I loved that it was colored vanilla instead of an imitation flavor. When you order the puffle you also get an add on topping. Would definitely come back the next time I visit Columbus!! read more

Honestly, don't see how this place has such stellar reviews. The ice cream is just ok but it's so overpriced. It's just ice cream done fairly well, but it lacks the creativity that other such as Jenis has at the price point and in this area. The location is very clean and the staff were friendly, but overall, I was underwhelmed after paying $7 for a couple scoops of ice cream. If people are willing to pay it, though, and rate it well enough, more power to them. read more

This ice cream was beyond amazing. I mean what genius thought of "Cereal Milk" ice cream. I am really big on good customer service. We called prior to arriving to make sure the place was open and the customer service over the phone was exceptional. We got the "puffy" cone and it was warm which made the ice cream melt a little and I LOVE that. We will be back next time we're in Columbus. read more

Open late and located on High St this is a great spot to grab ice-cream after dinner. I tried the cookies and cream with purple cream to make it more fun. We were on a mission to taste several ice cream spots to rank them during our trip to Ohio. CRMD had good quality ice cream coming into a tie with Jeni's ice cream! Following closely behind was Graeter's. read more

I dunno. Black vanilla ice cream with lemon is a neat concept, but also a little gritty. Seems to me when you're in an ice cream mecca like Ohio maybe just stick to the traditional. Fun place and worth a try. And the puffle cone of asian tea cakes is cool. But ultimately not for me. read more

I came here while there was a ton of construction outside on the sidewalk and the road, which could explain why we were the only customers. I was prepared to have to wait in a decently long line so I was happy. The lady working was super friendly. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get unique flavors. It was delicious! Of course I also have to get the trendy bubble waffle which was fresh and hot. I definitely didn't need three giant scoops because they quickly melted and got all over me but it was worth it. read more

This place was very efficient and the staff was super friendly. I thought the ice cream colors were interesting. I expected my brownie ice cream to be a brown color but it was actually orange. Me and my friend both agree the puffle was the best! It's a cake flavor waffle cone but the texture of a waffle. I honestly wished every place had a puffle. Someone who always skips the cone, the puffle should not be skipped. I would said ice cream was pretty good I might like other places a little more but overall it my new favorite place. read more

New favorite Short North ice cream place! I'm always excited when new dessert/ice cream places open in the short north. I love having more options than just Jeni's. This shop offers regular waffle cones and "puffles" which are sometimes refured to as egg waffles or bubble waffles. (They're pretty popular in Asia and you'll find them in most Chinatowns in the US) The staff is friendly and you can sample the flavors. The texture is smooth and creamy..not too rich or overly sweet. Flavors are pretty normal but some come in fun colors. Portions are pretty big. Price is fair for the quality, portion and location. Decor is pretty simple, minimal seating...but honestly most people came in, got their ice cream and walked around. read more

I'M STILL BLOWN AWAY AFTER MY FIRST Visit. I had to experience the hype surrounding GETTING CRMD IN A PUFFLE. What did I experience? Was I still in Columbus? SEEK OUT THE NEW AND WELCOME CHALLENGES. For me to look in the window I had zero clue what I was getting into. The black painted area. The large empty floor space. The lack of the like parlor tables and chairs. LOCATION IS THE NORTHERN SHORT NORTH JUST DOORS SOUTH OF FIFTH AVENUE... THIS AREA IS THE GO TO PLACE. Parking is plentiful. I learned about this entrepreneurial couple having lived around the world. Being Clevelanders. I learned about their product. Their sourcing of the necessary ingredients for their CRMD.. I was told to go get CRMD and I'm so glad I did. VIET COFFEE... just go find out about VIET COFFEE yourself....It's CRMD not liquid. BLACK VANILLA.... go learn about CHARCOAL...get CRMD https://www.getcrmd.com/ I had to tell friends that I couldn't explain CRMD well enough that I wanted to take them. JUST LICK IT REAL GOOD. I can't pronounce 'PUFFLE' properly I don't think but I can chow a PUFFLE...the PUFFLE is so extremely unique, I think it's actually really cute, and to GET CRMD IN A PUFFLE was more than a date night treat. FIND A WAY... FORCE YOURSELF TO GO THAT FIRST TIME... GO BACK OFTEN BECAUSE GETTING CRMD IN A PUFFLE IS A GOOD THING... CRMD IS A GIFT TO THE CBUS. read more

This place is bomb!! I'm absolutely a fan of the late night craving hours because I strolled in here around 11 PM! I'm kind of extra when it comes to ice cream places. I have to try at least 3 flavors before I make a choice...oops lol. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite and theirs did not disappoint but I was more in the mood for something refreshing so I got the raspberry sorbet with fruity pebbles in a puffle cone and OMG. BOMB! I was in pure bliss. I will warn you and say this is a pretty large portion. I asked for one scoop and still was shocked by how much I was given but you can never have too much ice cream right?! Go in and get CRMD, you won't regret it! read more

I got the Maddison promotion and they refuse to allow any modifications. You have to get it how they designed it. I get why this place is so popular. You get unconventional ingredients sprinkled on your Johnson's ice cream but it isn't as special as I imagined it'd be. I was surprised they so openly displayed their product provider. The design of the location is set up well for customers to post their dessert on the social media pages. There are a lot of ice cream spots down high street and authenticity is a requirement in that area to prosper. I really do believe what they offer is pretty ordinary and doesn't merit another visit in. I'd rather go to my local Johnson ice cream shop and get my ice cream however I'd like to order it. read more

I love this place, the design is simple and black for the store and signage which makes you wonder , am I really in an ice cream shop as it is not your typical decor. Love the play on words as it makes me feel like I am in an ice cream shop for adults rather than kids, which is a huge plus in my book. Nice array of flavors including a few vegan flavors which is great for me. The have a unique bubble type of waffle cone which I did not have but my partner did. He said it was one of the best ones he had had so I will take his word for it. They have a few types of toppings to add and prices are reasonable. The vegan flavors are fantastic especially the double chocolate which is one of my favorites. read more

New ice cream shop in the short north featuring fun colorful flavors including black vanilla (made with activated charcoal), viet coffee, and matcha. You can get them served in a cup, waffle cone, or puffle cone. The ouffle is a must. Its absolutely delicious. Their staff is super friendly and great at making suggestions and giving you taste samples. All the flavors are good its really hard to choose. I say go YOLO and get them all. The decor is awesome. I mean the name is catchy and fun so of course theres a wall saying Get Creamed, and another featuring a black drip. And then the fancy neon reading "lick it real good" this place is awesome. I think it will be a great success in the short north. I cant wait to go back. read more

For a late night craving, my friends and I decided to check out this place! We were so excited to try the bold colored ice cream and unique toppings. We were greeted outside of the door with music that was also playing inside, giving this space a perfect vibe. Luckily, we were the only ones there, so we got to try all the samples we want and not have to rush through a line. They had various flavors, such as Viet coffee, cereal and milk, black vanilla (vanilla with charcoal), strawberry*, etc. Then come the toppings! They also had an assortment of black sprinkles, fruity pebbles, crushed oreos, etc. Overall, the atmosphere was chill and fun to be in, their playlist** was amazing, and the two employees there were SO kind and helpful (funny too). Why did I give it 4 stars? Seating. There are no tables or chairs in this joint... just cushions lining the front window. So, if you look forward to coming here, or have saved this as a place you'd like to visit, be aware that it might be best to take the ice cream on the road, or sidewalk... whatever you do. My friends and I were lucky we were the only customers there, so we could chat and enjoy our dessert. *As someone who hates fruit flavored ice cream / sorbet, the strawberry was delightful. **Whoever did the playlist, 10/10. Help a sister out and let me know where you found this playlist and what it's called. Thanks! read more

Went there tonight because I saw matcha ice cream and what looked like Hong Kong little egg waffle. This place was a buzz among my friends so I had to go try it out for myself. When you first walk in, it's a very strong corn smell in the building but it's really just the smell of the batter of their egg waffle. It's still a new establishment so there isn't much physical furniture but I wish they do add tables and chairs in the future. It's awkward having patrons standing around when the 4-5 people seating by the window is filled up. As for the actual flavors of the ice cream, I would say they're doing a really good job and I loved my matcha. You get a lot for one scoop and it's not badly priced either. The wallpaper/quotes of the shop is very bold and fun, making this place very attractive and appealing. It's still a new shop so there's some things they need to work on but overall, a solid start! I'll definitely be coming to try other flavors. read more

I love crmd! I really like the unusual colors of the ice cream. But it's not just hype. It's delicious! The buckeye has tons of mini buckeye candies in it and it's the cutest gray color. I loved my scoop. And that you get a free topping included. I'm absolutely dying to go back and try the puffle. And more flavors. My only recommendation is for them to add some benches for seating. Went here twice. I love the design of the place because it is minimalistic and vert instagramable. I love the bubble waffles and ice creams duo. I got the green tea the first time with the puffle (what they called bubble waffle). The waffle itself was delicious. It was nice and warm and flavor was great but I wasn't to keen on the ice creams. Something about it was a little off. It was a creamy as graters or jenni's. But it wasn't as bad. I got the cookie and creams on my second time around. The place were I went to in Michigan had it with gelato ice cream and that was the perfect duo. I really do like the one free toppings it comes with. It's a type of place for millennials not for family at all. No tables there and younger crowd of course. read more
