Hands down the best ice cream in Columbus. The out of the box flavors are out of this world and staff is so friendly! The piffle is an absolute must especially if it is your first time. Honestly the ice cream is so fantastic that the toppings aren't even needed (but why not go crazy right!!!) Love it so much we always have to take a couple pints to go when we make a trip. Highly recommend the coffee flavor, biscoff cookie (try it mixed with coffee!) or if your really up for having your taste buds go wild go for the fruity pebbles flavor (thank me later!). read more

This was our first visit here and definitely won't be our last. The staff was super friendly and explained the process to us when we got up to the ordering counter. I follow these guys on Instagram and was intrigued by the puffy cones - turns out they are super delicious and made to order! They give you a friendly reminder that if you order one it will take a few minutes since they aren't made until you ask for one. They were amazing! You pull off the small balls that formed and they taste like a super delicious soft cake waffle. The ice cream was also really good and the fruity pebbles tasted exactly like the cereal! This place is definitely a fun and creative place to go to have fun and take great pictures! The staff is very friendly and will help you along the way with any questions you have and offer you samples of the flavors you are curious about. When I went I was a little disappointed that they had ran out of the puffle cones but guess that means I just need to go back! After sampling a few flavors I ended up getting the mint chocolate chip and cookie dough ice cream. Their ice cream is simple flavor but very good. I do wish they had crazier flavors to match their colorful ice cream because I find the colors of the ice cream to be a little confusing. This is obviously extremely indulgent, but they combine two of my favorite things: HK egg waffles and ice cream, so how can it be bad? I thought I would be overwhelmed by the combo but the hotness of the puffle and the coldness of the ice cream made for an awesome large treat on a hot summer night. Extra bonus points for the nice service and attention to detail when I told them I had a food allergy, and they promptly switched gloves and scoopers. But i also convinced 5 others so it was well worth it. We had been bar hopping around short north when I suggested we walk over to CRMD - a hip looking ice cream shop I found on yelp. We get to the door and I immediately think it's going to be just an instragram trap because of the decor. But as soon as we actually step inside and the smell of the puffle hits my nose I I'm excited. We get up to the counter and there are a few people in front of us. We are warned that puffles take about 2 minutes so it'll be around a 4-6 minute wait. But they offered to give us all the samples we desired. So we did that. Sampled away. They have a pretty great selection - and includes some gluten free options as well. I sampled the matcha, Viet coffee, salted Carmel pretz, cereal & milk and buckeye. I ended up going for the coffee and it was an amazing choice. Each cup / cone or puffle gets one free topping. I choose Cinnamon Toast Crunch and was pleasantly surprised at how well it all went together. Decent price range for a place of this caliber but really the super kind staff earned them 5 stars. The space itself is funky, quirky, and very 2020 (yes, I know we still have a few months to go but that's what I meant.) It's fun and refreshing and adds some diversity to the High St. ice cream scene. It's owned by a husband and wife duo and I believe they've done a great job. The strawberry ice cream was one of my favorites. It's a vibrant red color with giant chucks of frozen strawberries mixed in. I love the texture the strawberries give to the creaminess of the ice cream. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream is a second favorite. The flavor of coffee is super strong, in a good way. Definitely don't eat this ice cream if you're planning to take a nap or go to bed anytime soon. Now, on to the puffle. This golden brown waffle wraps around your cold ice cream choices like a comfy blanket. It's warm with just a slight bit of sweetness. It's also huge. I've only been able to handle it with one scoop of ice cream, otherwise I'll waste too much. It's very filling. If you're a lover of all things ice cream, CRMD is definitely worth a visit. Today was opening day and thankfully we didn't have to wait too long. They said they had 60+ waiting there when they opened! Everyone working was so nice; we got to try any of the flavors we wanted. They have a wide variety, and as you can see in the photos, they're really vibrant with crazy colors! The Puffle is an interesting concept. We had to wait a few minutes, because they were making fresh ones, but they were really good. It tasted a lot like a waffle. It was a nice flavor contrast. The lemon was so light and refreshing! The flavor was distinctly lemon without being overpowering. Perfect for a 90 degree July day. The strawberry had actual chunks of strawberries in it too. Next visit I'm not sure I would get the Puffle again. As nice as the flavor contrast was, it got pretty messy pretty quickly, and wasn't very visually appealing the time I got to the bottom and all of the colors had mixed in with it. Each of the flavors are wonderful- and while there is a good selection, it's not an overwhelming number of options. Last night was my second time stopping into CRMD! My first time I was super excited to try and was a little disappointed to find out the puffle machine was broken. I got to try the Vietnamese coffee flavor ice cream with the cereals and milk ice cream topped with pocky. The flavors complimented each other well and I was pretty obsessed with the coffee ice cream for sure!! My second visit consisted of the strawberry ice cream with the charcoal based vanilla ice cream with a puffle. I was so happy that I finally got to try the puffle and overwhelmed with how big my post workout "meal" was. The strawberry flavor has a great strawberry taste to it with I believe are chunks of strawberries. The charcoal vanilla isn't my best of the best favorite flavor, but I liked it enough to enjoy it. The puffle was the best part because it's so soft and went so well with the ice cream as it slowly soaked the flavor of ice cream without making it drenched and soggy. I look forward to coming back to try more flavors in the future! This cone is something I would recommend if you do stop in, it's worth the extra charge. I don't know that I'll be back, but this is a super "instagram-able" spot with a cool looking product. Cute ice cream shop on the edge of campus and the Short North! They have a wide variety of flavors that they encourage you to taste test. Each order comes with a free topping and there are plenty to choose from. The girl working was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The shop itself is incredibly instagrammable with plenty of backgrounds to snap your shot. Apparently the shop is rated for retail, not dining though so seating is limited to a couple of cushions on the window seat. They also chose to forgo plastic spoons which is great, but I didn't love the wood scoop stick they offered instead. Also, you won't find any free parking around here, you'll have to park at a meter on the street or in the lot across High Street. In the blazing heat that we've been getting, I was so excited to hear that a new ice cream shop opened in Short North! This place deviates from the traditional ice cream shop which gives it a unique ice cream experience (apart from maybe simply rolled, of course).. Going in, this place doesn't really look like a typical ice cream shop with its black walls, decor (see picture) and overall hipster feel. I was a bit confused at first when I looked at the ice cream flavors since cookies n cream was purple, chocolate chip cookie dough was blue, etc. etc. it didn't really make sense to me but pretty awesome nonetheless! The star of this place is definitely the puffle cone. They give it to you warm and good bit of ice cream melts in the bottom so eventually when you start eating the thing like a taco it's super yummy at the end. Regarding the ice cream itself, I didn't find the taste particularly memorable. I think the ice cream is good, but I think I'd go there more for the cone! read more
