Expensive but delicious ice cream! We were in the area and decided to stop in after lunch. I got two scoops. The flavors are so so good and there are a decent amount of choices. My fiancé got a puffle (puffy waffle cone) and really enjoyed it. Before covid, they offered tasters but due to health concerns they aren't doing that right now. read more

This was our first visit here and definitely won't be our last. The staff was super friendly and explained the process to us when we got up to the ordering counter. I follow these guys on Instagram and was intrigued by the puffy cones - turns out they are super delicious and made to order! They give you a friendly reminder that if you order one it will take a few minutes since they aren't made until you ask for one. They were amazing! You pull off the small balls that formed and they taste like a super delicious soft cake waffle. The ice cream was also really good and the fruity pebbles tasted exactly like the cereal! Super impressed with this place and will definitely be bringing back our guests that visit! read more

They have 2 vegan iced cream options. The chocolate one was AMAZING!! The service was also very nice.

This place is definitely a fun and creative place to go to have fun and take great pictures! The staff is very friendly and will help you along the way with any questions you have and offer you samples of the flavors you are curious about. When I went I was a little disappointed that they had ran out of the puffle cones but guess that means I just need to go back! After sampling a few flavors I ended up getting the mint chocolate chip and cookie dough ice cream. Their ice cream is simple flavor but very good. I do wish they had crazier flavors to match their colorful ice cream because I find the colors of the ice cream to be a little confusing. Overall I find this to be good for ice cream and a great hang with the photogenic walls! read more

This place is weak! Went in just after 10 tonight (a Monday in October) and not only did they not have any of the 3 flavors that interested me that were listed on the website for this location, but they were out of puffles, which we weren't told until the very end. How can you be out of your most popular flavors on a Monday in the fall and out of the signature puffle that makes this spot different? Those things and the girl working seemed like she pretty much hated being there. It was a totally lackluster and stale experience. My boyfriend got blue cookie dough and pretzel crunch which both also totally lacked toppings mixed in. I think there was one single pretzel bite in the whole scoop of that flavor. I ended up not ordering anything and it was my idea to go get ice cream. The interior is meant to be kind of sleek, minimalist, and unique, but with the disappointing service and disappointing options it just kind of make the experience feel more bleak. There is honestly no way we would ever go back in a million years. read more

This was a very unique ice cream shop. The flavors are unique and come in fun colors. Parking was easy to find on a Sunday. The wait in line was maybe 5-6 minutes. Friendly staff. I had to try the puffle and was glad I did. It was warm and delicious. The cereal milk ice cream was really good and different. The purple cookies and cream was pretty good. It's not the best, homemade ice cream I've ever had but the presentation is an experience. read more

This is obviously extremely indulgent, but they combine two of my favorite things: HK egg waffles and ice cream, so how can it be bad? I thought I would be overwhelmed by the combo but the hotness of the puffle and the coldness of the ice cream made for an awesome large treat on a hot summer night. Extra bonus points for the nice service and attention to detail when I told them I had a food allergy, and they promptly switched gloves and scoopers. They also made sure to time my puffle order so that it would come out perfectly. Overall definitely worth a try if you want a crazy/fun ice cream experience. read more

The Atmosphere: the vibe was nice, with many people coming in to get ice cream. there were a few signs to take pictures with if you wanted. The Food: it had unique flavors, they weren't doing tastings at the time. We both got our ice cream on a cone. ice cream was good, but the flavor I picked wasn't stellar. The Service: they were very friendly as well as speedy. Bathrooms: didn't see any Parking: parked far away and walked to it Highlights: Honestly, my favorite part was our fancy paper cone holder. you could rip it to be smaller as you got further down the cone. read more

First time in Columbus, OH and I was brought here by a friend. The place was very clean, had seating, and the staff were super friendly. There was a variety of ice cream options that I have never seen before. I ordered one scoop of the Fruity Pebbles ice cream and topped it off with a free topping (i decided to get fruit pebbles as my topping). The ice cream was the perfect blend and texture. It wasn't overly sweet and was a great treat. Definitely would come here again! read more

CRMD - FRUITY PEBBLES - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

This new ice cream joint made a giant splash in the Short North neighborhood and I'm so glad CRMD decided to make Columbus their home. The space itself is funky, quirky, and very 2020 (yes, I know we still have a few months to go but that's what I meant.) It's fun and refreshing and adds some diversity to the High St. ice cream scene. It's owned by a husband and wife duo and I believe they've done a great job. The strawberry ice cream was one of my favorites. It's a vibrant red color with giant chucks of frozen strawberries mixed in. I love the texture the strawberries give to the creaminess of the ice cream. The Vietnamese coffee ice cream is a second favorite. The flavor of coffee is super strong, in a good way. Definitely don't eat this ice cream if you're planning to take a nap or go to bed anytime soon. Now, on to the puffle. This golden brown waffle wraps around your cold ice cream choices like a comfy blanket. It's warm with just a slight bit of sweetness. It's also huge. I've only been able to handle it with one scoop of ice cream, otherwise I'll waste too much. It's very filling. If you're a lover of all things ice cream, CRMD is definitely worth a visit. Get the puffle, sample all the flavors, throw some toppings on there if you like, and don't forget to take a pic! read more

This is definitely a must-try in the Short North! I was craving bubble waffle (literally, I think I cried about it at work for an entire week) so my boyfriend got sick of it and told me to find a place. I found CRMD on Yelp and just HAD TO GO - what a cool instaspot for the foodstagram! We went around 3pm on a Saturday and it was pretty empty, which was fine by me because there was only one place to sit and I wanted an unadulterated view of the sign for my photo! I got one scoop of the Buckeye ice cream (my fave) with m&ms and it was very substantial, creamy ice cream! Bubble waffle was perfect and warm - I just love the combo of warm cookie/waffle with cold ice cream! I thought the ice cream was a little heavy on the sugar but it did completely satisfy my craving. Pros: instaspot, trendy, cool neon sign, yummy Cons: nowhere to sit (better take it to go!), very sweet, bubble waffle takes a while to cook read more

CRMD is my favorite place for a sweet treat in Columbus hands down! The flavors are amazingly delicious and I can never just select just one flavor. It's a toss up between the buckeye and the fruity pebbles ice cream. My wife wanted to try the Browns flavor... but I refuse because we are a Who Dey family! 10 out of 10 recommend! read more

In the words of Joey Russo in Blossom: WHOA!! Talk about a tasty dessert option. I'm currently thanking God that CRMD is 25 minutes from me; otherwise self-restraint would be on constant overtime. Took my niece to try it out. It was in the afternoon, so only one other customer stopped by. Infatuated with puffle bubbled waffles, we both had our own. ***Be ware: The made-to-order soft waffle is pretty big and definitely filling.*** So, naturally, without knowing how big CRMD scoops were, we both got two scoops of ice cream in each. After a few samples, I chose Cereal & Milk and Matcha; topped it with crushed peanut butter cups. Let's just say it was tasty as fluff!! The hot pressed puffle helps to soften the ice cream, makes it perfect for guilty licks of lavishness ;D Each scoop fits nice and cute in the cone, but that was A LOT of sweetness to down. Note to self: Next time, share a two-scooper, or just get one scoop per puffle cone, Gwen! Welcome to the neighborhood, CRMD!! There's only one seating bench area by the front window, otherwise standing is the only option. Very minimal seating is actually on purpose, as they wanna keep the flow moving. The two gals working were so friendly and kind, they said it can get hot in there quick if the line is long - which is pretty much a given on weekends. Get your treat and keep moving, there's too many drooling tongues to linger! read more

I was prepared to NOT like this place due to their loud and semi-aggressive 'trendy' marketing. But...... I love ice cream so I wanted to try it anyway! AND... I ended up liking it and I want to return. Lots of photos ops, smart of them... it's perfect for your instagram and doing some free marketing for them. Likes: - The puffle cone. It was warm, TASTY, and the cardboard box is helpful as a vehicle for holding - HUGE scoops - I'm only getting one next time! - A free topping - Coffee ice cream - was the best one I tried - Reasonable pricing given the four points above - A friendly employee (she didn't seem friendly at first but soon she was having me try almost every flavor!) Dislikes: - Not all the flavors are good IMHO. Some did not have very strong flavors despite the BOLD food colorings - No seating - didn't bother me this visit, but could be a deterrent on a different day/if I came with a group read more

Today was opening day and thankfully we didn't have to wait too long. They said they had 60+ waiting there when they opened! Everyone working was so nice; we got to try any of the flavors we wanted. They have a wide variety, and as you can see in the photos, they're really vibrant with crazy colors! The Puffle is an interesting concept. We had to wait a few minutes, because they were making fresh ones, but they were really good. It tasted a lot like a waffle. It was a nice flavor contrast. The lemon was so light and refreshing! The flavor was distinctly lemon without being overpowering. Perfect for a 90 degree July day. The strawberry had actual chunks of strawberries in it too. Next visit I'm not sure I would get the Puffle again. As nice as the flavor contrast was, it got pretty messy pretty quickly, and wasn't very visually appealing the time I got to the bottom and all of the colors had mixed in with it. It was a bit mushy by then. Price was $6 for 2 scoops plus $2 for the Puffle. Overall I'd definitely go again! read more

I've been to CRMD a handful of times since they've opened, and each time have had a great experience. It's a really cool little ice cream shop with a unique style. Each of the flavors are wonderful- and while there is a good selection, it's not an overwhelming number of options. They happily let me sample each of them, which was very nice to be able to try before you buy. The puffle cone was delicious! Last night was my second time stopping into CRMD! My first time I was super excited to try and was a little disappointed to find out the puffle machine was broken. I got to try the Vietnamese coffee flavor ice cream with the cereals and milk ice cream topped with pocky. The flavors complimented each other well and I was pretty obsessed with the coffee ice cream for sure!! My second visit consisted of the strawberry ice cream with the charcoal based vanilla ice cream with a puffle. I was so happy that I finally got to try the puffle and overwhelmed with how big my post workout "meal" was. The strawberry flavor has a great strawberry taste to it with I believe are chunks of strawberries. The charcoal vanilla isn't my best of the best favorite flavor, but I liked it enough to enjoy it. The puffle was the best part because it's so soft and went so well with the ice cream as it slowly soaked the flavor of ice cream without making it drenched and soggy. I look forward to coming back to try more flavors in the future! It's a little odd to me that there's not much seating but it also keeps people from staying forever and getting crowded aside from a line forming. read more

This place is really unique--from the ice cream flavors, colors and the puffle cones. Everything is really, really good! All the flavors we tried were really flavorful and delicious! Loved how bright and colorful they were. The puffle cones are made to order, so that takes a few minutes, but nothing that's too long. The scoops are big and the cone itself is really filling. Cute ice cream shop on the edge of campus and the Short North! They have a wide variety of flavors that they encourage you to taste test. Each order comes with a free topping and there are plenty to choose from. The girl working was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The shop itself is incredibly instagrammable with plenty of backgrounds to snap your shot. Apparently the shop is rated for retail, not dining though so seating is limited to a couple of cushions on the window seat. They also chose to forgo plastic spoons which is great, but I didn't love the wood scoop stick they offered instead. Also, you won't find any free parking around here, you'll have to park at a meter on the street or in the lot across High Street. All that aside, the ice cream tasted amazing and I would definitely go back! read more

This place was decent. It was exceedingly good or bad. Honestly kind of overpriced and the atmosphere was slightly awkward.

In the blazing heat that we've been getting, I was so excited to hear that a new ice cream shop opened in Short North! This place deviates from the traditional ice cream shop which gives it a unique ice cream experience (apart from maybe simply rolled, of course).. Going in, this place doesn't really look like a typical ice cream shop with its black walls, decor (see picture) and overall hipster feel. I was a bit confused at first when I looked at the ice cream flavors since cookies n cream was purple, chocolate chip cookie dough was blue, etc. etc. it didn't really make sense to me but pretty awesome nonetheless! The star of this place is definitely the puffle cone. They give it to you warm and good bit of ice cream melts in the bottom so eventually when you start eating the thing like a taco it's super yummy at the end. Regarding the ice cream itself, I didn't find the taste particularly memorable. I think the ice cream is good, but I think I'd go there more for the cone! read more

Surprisingly, the ice cream scene in Columbus is pretty popping, so excited to try out the latest addition in the Short North. CRMD is definitely marketed towards the "Instagrammers" and trend-setting adolescents/young adults. The space is large, but a lot of negative space - there's just one bench for seating, the ice cream bar, and then a ton of 'grammable murals. I would have liked a little more seating, but that's just me. CRMD has a large variety with unique takes on classic flavors (think charcoal vanilla, purple cookies and cream, etc.). They also offer their take on the cone, the "puffle" - a soft waffle-like cone. I didn't want to be overly stuffed from the ice cream, so I opted just for a dish to truly enjoy the flavors. Unfortunately, you can't split flavors with a single scoop - so I went for 2 scoops (definitely not complaining!). The nilla cookie dough was a great take on a classic cookie dough - the dough pieces were legit, but were well disguised by the bright blue color of the base. The cereal milk was super creamy and cinnamon-y and filled with cereal pieces - only complaint was that the pieces had a strange texture that felt off, but didn't compromise the flavor at all. While the prices are a little lofty ($6 for 2 scoops), you do get a free topping, so that's an added bonus! The dino sprinkles were the perf addition to my scoops :) Only other thing was the fact that they use wooden "spoons" for customers to enjoy the ice cream - 100% respect the enviro-friendly move, but couldn't help but taste wood with each bite :( CRMD definitely has a market for the Instagram star in Columbus, but their delicious variety of flavors can be enjoyed by all walks of life! Hoping that they get a little bit more seating in the future (maybe some outdoor seating??) and change up their spoon game, but definitely would come back for more (eye-ing the matcha and nilla brownie bits)! read more
