They were incredibly expensive to just remove a couple of raccoons and some babies. They tried to get me to agree to $2500! I said no and he kept coming down u til we agreed to $680. Then after they removed the adults, they didn't come back for the babies. I called 5 times and emailed once with out a single return call from the technician, the supervisor or management. total rip off for their services. claimed I had rats under my house. actually brought a rat caged and claimed they caught it at my house. traps had been set for two weeks and they caught nothing. showed up with a rat one day that they brought. never had rats. read more

Would you hire a company that lies to you to get their business? I was told I have bats in my attic. I got a 2nd and honest opinion from CMC animal control (248-904-5162). There were no bats in my attic and the ones I did have who were hanging at night inside my brick overhang outside my house are gone from an easy and inexpensive application of sticky caulk that bats hate. Guys showed up in July. Paid them $220 up front. They asked if they could keep my credit card on file. I told them no. The next day they showed up and said they caught 1 squirrel but provided no proof. Later that day I watched a squirrel get in through the soffit, which was not one of the places they told me they suspected. The next day I physically checked the traps myself before heading to the store. They were empty. Returned home about 15 minutes later and there was a note on my door that they had been there and removed a second squirrel and I owed them $160. I called them and told them they could pick up their traps and that we would not be doing business with them as I felt they were untrustworthy and wrong in their assessment. A few weeks later a squirrel got in, again through the soffit and chewed through my water line and caused extensive damage to my home that we have been using all our available funds to repair. Meanwhile, I receive no less then 5 bills a week from critter control saying I owe them for squirrels Im pretty sure they didnt even catch. Yesterday I checked my bank statement to discover they took it upon themselves to debit my acct without my permission on a card that I did not authorize them to keep on file. read more

I had a similar experience to Anne's. I thought I was hiring some big time national chain with what all the latest greatest tools to get the critter out of my wall. I will admit I may have waited too long (a day and a half), in calling, but their response to my call was, "He can be out there tomorrow morning (a Thursday) or Monday." Seemed rather nonchalant, given I told them the critter was alive and could die before then.......but, I understand they cant work their schedule around my mistakes. I apparently waited too long to call, as the noise in the wall stopped. When Dean got there the next afternoon, he found the point of entry and offered to stuff it with newspaper. After I showed him the wall where the noise was, he then talked me into leaving what we both thought may have been a bat or a bird in there. He could tear up the wall and retrieve it, but fixing it would be my problem. When I was searching on line, the Critter Control web page I read said they could repair what they had to demolish in order to retrieve an animal. Apparently not this branch. I asked if he at least had a snake camera to minimize demolition to my wall. Dean said, "No, but that "would" be nice to have". He did offer to tear up the whole wall if needed, if my location guess was not accurate, but warned again, repairs would be all on me! At this point I felt I needed to back away. Dean was a nice enough guy, and may have saved me a lot of money in the long run, but I was not impressed with the solution being: Stuffing newspaper in the entry point, not being able to quote repair. He did offer to sell me some industrial strength air freshener for when the animal in the wall began to decay and smell. He started to write up the paperwork. $169 for the house call. I thought the lady on the phone told me $135 with additional charges for additional work done, but I may have been mis-heard her. He started adding in charges for a revisit and traps if needed. I wasn't comfortable with paying for work that "might" have to be done. He understood and cheerfully removed them. At that point I decided that their expertise was not what I was looking for. He left after spending a half hour - 45 minutes with me. I won't bash their work...there was none done, I just thought the house call was a bit steep for basically what amounted to a sales visit.. Now, I would have not left this review had they not charged me the full amount, but $169 doesn't come easy by me. I felt I needed to share my story. Not to bash.....but as a warning to others in my similar situation. I am kind of a softie.....I might have let him tear the wall up if the animal was still alive. read more

I thought I was hiring an expert at $169 for 1 visit who would: listen, understand the issue (critters in attic), diagnose the problem (find point of entry) and propose solutions. All I received was someone who said he was too busy to listen to my whole story/explanation, could not find a point of entry and then asked me to tell him what to do. I, with the help of my roofer, had identified a probable point of entry earlier in the day, so I pointed this out to him, which he doubted. Yet, he had no other ideas. Against my better judgement I agreed to have traps set on the roof near that place. I expect now that they will trap something, for which I will be charged. Yet, my whole reason of hiring a professional company was to identify the point of entry with an experienced level of certainty and ensure the issue is eliminated. I will close up the points of entry, which my roofer identified, after he removes the traps and hopefully help others realize to have low expectations when hiring this company. read more

Great customer service. I had tried another bat extraction company and continued to have bats in my attic. Finally tired of thir poor service, I tried critter control. Aaron was thorough in sealing openings and setting the one way out device, explained my situation, was very professional and the bats have left the building. read more

Careful who you get. Person on the phone is excellent. One year ago I had squirrel problem in my attic - the guy that came out did a great job of catching and then sealing up holes. This year I called for skunk. Different guy does not show up on appointed day, shows up a week later, and wants to put out small (squirrel) traps that I know the skunk will not fit in (it was BIG). Well because of his delay I had to postpone the service - he came back a month later- again after a week delay, and put out traps. He catches neighborhood cat - I let it out and he lectures me on letting out cat says I can't do that or he will take his traps and leave (A threat). So next day same thing he catches another cat - next door neighbors, and I let is sit all day in the cage as he shows up late in afternoon and is pissy with me so I tell him " maybe he does not know how to catch a skunk only cats" and he storms off after picking up his traps. They get $159 just to show up and $75 for each captured animal - even if it is not the target animal, so maybe he is not to happy because I told him I was not paying for cats. He told me that he could take the cats if they did not have a collar and rabies tag as it was Michigan law - THAT IS NOT THE TRUTH - there is no such law. read more

Not that impressed. Hired to remove skunks, they removed three and two rats (and charged us $75 for each, including the rats) but never got the mama skunk, and our house and porch still stink and the smell has now permeated the house. I called today to complain and they said they would call me back on Monday - Monday, really? Not very impressive customer service... read more

Critter Control took my money and never performed services; I represent a multifamily housing business. They set a trap on one day, my card was declined, the trap was removed 24 hours later. That's certainly fair. HOWEVER, when payment was remitted (snail mail check because that is the only means my corporation has to issue payment)- within 30 days, Critter Control refused to re-set the trap, or refund the money. Furthermore, Critter Control took 30 days, exactly, to cash my payment and still refused to refund the money. The company stated that they chose not to service my business because of "past history dating back many years, indicates a pattern of late payments and unanswered communications". There was one additional service call, made in August of 2016. Critter Control was unable to provide any documentation on past due invoices, late statement service charges, or anything of that nature. In my opinion, a petty and unprofessional company to fight a small business over $289- not to mention being sent straight to voicemail by the district manager when I attempted to call.
