I would NEVER use this company, as all they would do is set traps and check them weekly. They do NOT check for or close-up entry ways, so problems WILL CONTINUE no matter how many traps they set. If you don't resolve the main issue, everything else is a waste of time & money. We heard something scratching in the wall Saturday night. I couldn't do anything till Monday, so I called Critter Control that Monday. They said they will send somebody out in the afternoon. We had a technician, Melquan Duncan who talked to us. We told him where the noise was, I put a note in the spot where the noise was. He insisted that there was no way anything would still be there on the floor between the 5 1/2 inch seperation wall in the kitchen. He made it sound impossible. They always climb up and out. He had two packages, one was insulation and covering up pipe in the roof for $9,000 and the other was for $1,000 to seal around the house. He looked up in the attic and said it smelled like urine. We got the insulation. He ignored our concern for what was in the wall. They came over, put up traps and one of the guys broke the ceiling light fixture in the hall and it's hanging down by wires. Come Thursday, the kitchen smelled like death. I called in the morning, they're going to send somebody out. I call again later on, they're coming. I call later on and he asked if he could come tomorrow. I said "No, I want somebody to take the animal out of the wall today". Later, a lady called to schedule the insulation and I said "No! Not until you get the dead animal out of my wall!" I said to stop everything and put it on hold. So, he came out, checked the trap and there was nothing in the attic. He said "Oh yeah, you were right, there is something in the wall". He said he need some kind of kind of tool to get into the wall and will be back tomorrow. He sprayed something on the wall for the smell, I think it was water and ran out. He ran out so fast, he left his ladder on the front lawn. Could not run away fast enough. This was 3 pm and there is a Home Depot down the street. So, he left us with the horrific smell of death in my kitchen. This should have been taken care of on Monday first before it died in my wall and as a animal lover, I would have like to have saved it. I feel bad. He came out the next day and took out a dead possum from the wall. The guy took the piece of the wall, put it behind the wall and screwed It back on with some like putty sealing around it. Just two days ago, he told us "By the way, we don't do wall plastering". Now you tell us that! That's why the guy didn't want to touch the wall on the first day and why the guy was so hesitant about doing it like they have never taken an animal out of a wall They couldn't do the job we wanted and sold us a $9,000 insulation that we didn't need.I have a job and couldn't be at home to monitor this, but my elderly mother was. They put up a few panels of wood and some cheap square wire mesh patches over the pipes on the roof. One panel had a hole in it, but instead of replacing the panel, they just put a wire mesh patch over the hole and they put one or two metal vents. They told my mother they are only returning $7,000! They did this cheap job of little stuff that we did not asked for, so they can get $2,000 out of this deal. We had an animal die in the wall because of them. I can still smell death in that spot. I'm assuming I'm going to have to go through my home insurance for the light they broke and I need to find somebody that does wall plastering, because they didn't know what they were doing and wouldn't admit it. All we wanted was the now dead possum out of the wall. I have a contract on my email for the $9,664.00, but no signed contract or receipt for the little cheap jobs they did and they never gave a upfront price on how much for the wall. They just dipped their hand in and grabbed what they wanted out of what we already gave them. Now it takes three weeks to get our refund? The $9,664.00 check sure went through to them fast enough! This was the absolute worse company! No honest communication, no good leadership, no accountability, and no apology. The lowest of quality of work and craftmanship! Thank god we didn't get the attic done by them, because who knows what disaster they would have caused and not owe up to it. And then the guy has the nerve to say "Can you take down this review?". Be nice? No, you took advantage and what you did was just rotten and greedy! I found out that they work on commission, so they are not there to help you, they are there to sell you, so don't fall for it. There was Inconsistencies. One guy said he smelled urine in the attic, you have rats, but another guy didn't smell anything. One guy looked at the broken, hanging light and instead of "We'll fix this", they said "You got termites" another guy said "You're ok", so I think it depends who is getting the commission. The manager didn't care. A good quality trust worthy company will always be concerned and take pride in customer satisfaction. If they're wrong, they'll make it right. I heard noises in my attic so my husband went up there to check and we found a racoon. I immediately contacted critter control and they sent someone to inspect. After a while they quoted me $3,100 for exclusions and removal. The removal was in the form of a liquid thats supposed to scare them away. It didnt work. Then they sent someone out and he was able to remove the racoon babies which in turn caused the mom racoon to leave. They claimed to have sealed off the entrance which was a vent on the roof and said I shouldn't have any issues. WRONG! A week later I got my insulation guy to go up there to remove and replace the insulation and found a bat!!! So now I have a bat in my attic and when I called Critter control to find out why no one noticed this critter, they didnt have any help for me. Claimed they'd send someone but never did. I was so furious that they sealed up my attic with a bat in it. A few weeks later, my husband goes up into he attic to inspect and found that the bat was gone. I was relieved at first but I couldn't believe it when he came down and told me theres racoons in my attic AGAIN!!!! They didnt actually seal anything because I have racoons living in my attic, and clearly the bat found its way out. What a WASTE of $3,100. I'll never recommend this company to anyone. read more

This is my experience from calling to my free consultation. I did not pay this company or hire them, so I cannot speak about that aspect. :) I called Critter Control after hearing noises in my attic. I was text back rapidly and the call center took my call and scheduled me quickly as they had availability. A service advisor (I'm not sure what the exact title of the person was) came out and met with me. She was nice and explained the process of checking my house, in the attic and via the roof for evidence of rats, raccoons and critters. This process took a while. I lowered the attic stairs for her. Upon looking, there was no real evidence of droppings but my attic is not very accessible, which I knew. She went onto my roof and inspected some areas, I have filled some holes with spray foam which I was told doesn't work for rats. As we spoke, I could tell this conversation was more fear mongering to upsell products and services and not so much what needs to be done to help me figure out what is wrong. There was talk about sewers, etc. I called because of noise specifically in one location of my attic...sales sales sales. The recommended treatment for exclusion, some sanitizing treatment (for the unknown critters) and removal of the unknown critters was quoted at $4,000.00. I almost laughed out loud. She was then very pushy on the sales end to get me to hand over a credit card to close the sale. I mentioned from the beginning that I have to discuss with my partner. But it is obvious this company is very sales driven. When I went outside to bring some garbage out, I saw an iguana on the roof next to the large opening that was pointed out. We removed the critter ourselves and will patch up the hole. So, free consultation from this company is totally worth it! But do your research and if you want to save $, don't fall for the crazy expensive sales tactics. read more

If you want to overpay for a service where they promise you one thing and deliver another, use these guys. I'm an idiot for using them. We had them remove a bird could have gotten it done for $300 elsewhere $600 with sanitize. Critter Control sold me on their superior service that included exclusion. Exclusion is where they fix all the holes/soffits and some fascia board in my case to prevent birds coming back. The service was offered at $3100 and discounted to $2800 if I took it then. When the tech got there, her actual service was a downgrade from what the sales guy said. He said if the bird was there it would be hand removed, she said she couldn't hand remove the bird, so we had to rely on it not being there so she could close the soffit and prevent it coming back. She said it wasn't there, I guess I have to believe it. Then she proceeded to close the soffits, but when she got to the fascia, she again differed from what the salesman said. I complained and they said they would come back on Monday with a manager to do it as promised. That was 2 weeks ago. I ended up hiring a contractor that cost me another $3200, so I paid $6000 overall for something I thought was going to be $2800. I was duped by savvy sales. Don't be duped. Use the less expensive removal company and hire a contractor to fill/cover the vulnerable areas or do it yourself. read more

I had to call this service because of raccoons, and as it turned out, rats in the attic. The tech's eyes lit up when he saw that the raccoon compromised the weak soffit we had and said they would only replace it with a stainless steel soffit. This ended up costing over $4000. They were also supposed to clean and sanitize the attic, which wasn't really done, they just simply sprayed it with something, no thorough cleaning at all. The steel soffit is fine, except part of it is loose because the screw didn't catch it well, when I called to get this fixed, someone was supposed to call back but never did. What an excellent pest control company! They are worth every penny! I had a major rodent issue inside the crawl spaces of my townhouse. The issue was so bad that the rodents ate through the roof, the installation, and the air conditioning ducts. After contacting the property management company about the exterior, and calling other pest control companies to handle the interior, and getting absolutely no where fast, I called Critter Control. They came highly recommended by two other homeowners in my development. Anyway, Daniel with Critter Control came to my home the next day to assess the damage. He was extremely through. The next day he returned with a contract. The price was the same as what my neighbors paid within the past two years; so, I was not shocked. Now, Critter Control is NOT cheap! They are expensive; but, "if pay peanuts, you get monkeys." Every three days a tech came to check the traps. He always came on time, and at a time convenient to me. After one week had past, Critter Control tech came to my home to blow in installation, the "existing" had been eaten away. While the techs where working both Daniel and his boss, Jose', came to my home to check on the work being done, and to insure that I was fine with work being done. Quite interesting how there are more complaints on Yelp, but not as many on Google... I wonder if it's rigged with fake accounts on there. Anyways, what are you guys doing to fix your mistakes? Please provide specific examples. Like after someone pays you over $1000 and you end up causing water damage to their house like you did for one of the Yelp reviewers, do you guys come back to repair the damages and actually take care of the pests for FREE? Or do you end up charging them more?? I see your responses to the customers to have them contact you guys back. If any of them did, please be honest and tell us publicly of some instances of what you would actually do to redeem yourselves in those situations. In one of the Yelp reviews, someone said you guys responded quickly. However, that was not MY case. I called one day in the morning about a rat in my bathroom and needed assistance. The lady from Critter Control told me on the phone she wasn't able to tell me how much it would be at first. For some reason, she said she needed to ask her manager about that, which I didn't understand because it sounded like it's something you guys aren't familiar with... However, she got back to me and told me that for just the inspection alone was going to be $229 (as if that manager just came up with a random number), and if there was a rat capture, it would be $69 per removal. She said she would contact someone to get back to me, BUT I didn't get called back until the NEXT day. Well, guess what?? The rat in my bathroom I informed you guys about had time to run off and hide somewhere else. In the same day I had called, I tried to leave my front door opened for the rat to leave since the bathroom is about 5 feet away, and I attempted to block off a pathway to the door. However, I ended up needing to go somewhere and closed my door thinking that rat could have left by then (about 5-6 hours after I initially called Critter Control, btw). About 30 minutes after I had left, my security cameras notified me that they captured the rat just scurrying around my damn place. By the time I got back home another 6 hours later, it disappeared somewhere and just roaming around my attic. The next day, a guy named Jon/John from Critter Control left a voicemail, and I got back to him around 5:00 after I was done with work. He couldn't help that day because he said he stops working at 4:00. He couldn't come the next day either because I get done with work when he's already done. Basically, I needed to wait until the weekend, which just meant more days for the rat to potentially cause more problems, chances to reproduce, chances to bring in lice, etc. As more days kept going by, I just thinking these guys aren't as accommodating that some reviewers are making them out to be. Paid $700 to lay 2 cage traps for 5 days to catch an armadillo. No results. While they extended the traps for a few days, it's totally insufficient and they have no suggestions how to catch this other than asking us for a maintenance contract. Really? Spent thousands to seal up our roof. The guys who did it seemed professional - no complaints. They put up traps before sealing the attic. The company promised to come by and check our traps before and after sealing the attic. My wife called a week after they sealed the attic and asked for some one to come check the traps as she heard a trap go off. The coma My rep said there was no need to check the traps they put up so soon. Fast forward a few weeks and I just pulled a maggot infested rat from our attic while trying to get Christmas decorations down. Merry Christmas from critter control! The company was apparently bought recently and they clearly are struggling. I used this company last May/June due to a raccoon getting into my attic. They came out immediately and told me it would be close to $3000 to get the raccoon out and all my vents in the soffits replaced. Also due to the difference in height from my back roof to my patio they couldn't reach the vent where the raccoon had busted in, therefore having to put this mesh that connected to the 2 roofs. They were quick I will say that. But here we are a year later and raccoons have broke threw the metal mesh at a seem that was not properly installed. I called 2 weeks ago and got a call back 2 days later, when I returned the missed call and left a message, I still have not since received a call back.. my dad climbed on the roof and put zip ties closing the gap temporarily. The next day I mentioned it to my roommate who replied, "You're just hearing that now? I've been hearing noises on the roof. I think we have a cat living there." I told her I don't think it's a cat, I think it could be raccoons. It was at that point after doing some research she decided to contact Critter Control. I am so grateful we got Edward "Ed" Ashton. I couldn't imagine having gotten a more experienced, understanding and personable trapper. Ed surveyed the house and laid down the traps. He gave us insights into raccoons and came back every day to check the traps. I was in constant communication with Ed when we finally saw a baby raccoon and then when we finally trapped the mother (who's babies were old enough at this point to fend for themselves since she was no longer milking). If that's not enough, the kindness and humaness that Ed shows to his customers and the wildlife itself is just commendable. It's not everyday you see someone who truly loves their job and is good at it, but Ed is definitely a wonderful and rare find. We had rats and lots of them I don't know when it started, but it sucked called critter control. The guys came out right away wasn't cheap, but they got the job done climbed in the attic which is small put down traps and started to catch the rats. Once the we're gone the next group came out and sealed up the house using cement. The technician spoke to me on the phone while I was working in the Middle East and explained to me what was going on. They used a fog to blow thru the house to look for openings and closed everything up also sprayed something in the attic to kill the germs from the rodents droppings. They'll pick up and tell you it can be handled. $600 or so to set 2 traps outside the house. No one knocks or says hello once they're in the backyard. Just ignore you, they take a day or 2 to reply to a text or call about how we had 6 raccoons coming every night. As soon as traps were placed we didn't see or hear any for 5 days straight. They don't care to consult about where to put the traps or anything. Do not recommend this company for anyone in the future. Make sure you get the 're-treatment warranty period' in writing. While the 're-treatment warranty period' is mentioned several times in the contract there are no dates or number of days. Technician verbally quoted a 90 day warranty period. Bugs returned in less than 60 days. Called for re-treatment. Was informed my warranty period was 30 days. Service included 2 treatments 2 weeks apart. Contract states Warranty period starts at initial treatment so there was only 2 weeks left in warranty after the service was complete. I have called this company twice now to remove a squirrel from my attic. The first time I was promised a call from Brandon within an hour. This was on Wed the 27th of October. I called back Nov 1st, yesterday, because I never heard from Brandon. I stated my issue calmly and without anger. Not possible is all I can say , everytime i get excuses why they have not been able to service me but the problem lies within there poor communication service. I ordered a one time service through them which I would expect to at least resolve my problem for a good amount of time. Two weeks later ants are back and Critter Control does not "Stand behind" their one time service. Instead to subscribe to them was my only other offer. When I had a rat infestion (one, possibly two, rats that left a BIG mess), my complex responded in a professional manner, but it took them three days to catch the rodent! During that time, I was living with the threat of a scrambling animal and its droppings. Once the maintenance crew fixed the problem, I wasn't convinced, so I called Critter Control. The technician called immediately, scheduled a visit the next day, evaluated the solution and walked the rest of my apartment, looking for other entry points. I appreciated the thoroughness of his visit and the time he took to assure me that the pest wasn't going to get back in. Since then (February), I've had no issues. The absolute worst. The initial execution was fine, but in the process of closing some gaps in the joins on my roof (to limit access to the attic) they created a roof leak. We are getting a new roof and suddenly we had a rodent problem in the garage, attic and house which we have never in 24 years experienced . We had a RAT in the pantry which of course freaked us out. I emailed Critter Control in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning I was speaking with them and they sent a specialist out by 1:00pm that same day. Starting with the woman that I spoke to I had a good feeling about the company. Eddie, the Specialist called to let me know when he could make it . He was so professional and conducted a thorough inspection inside and outside the house. He took pictures and showed us all the entry points the exposed roof had created. He gave us an estimate for the immediate extermination and to repair and correct the entry points. That day we hired Critter Control. Eddie set traps in the pantry and attic the same day. Cameron then took over and is coming 3 days a week to check the traps. He explained everything to us on rodent behavior and we don't even have to look at the traps if we don't want to, and believe me I don't! The results have been great and they have a guarantee for a year! We are sleeping much better at night knowing that the critters are being eliminated and the openings will be sealed tomorrow! I have been using critter control since Irma a little over 3 years ago. After Irma, I ended up with a rat problem and these guys were great. I have had a regular maintenance service with them ever since for rats and insects and have been very pleased with their service until recently. They were very good about notifying me when they would come to service the rat traps, then I would get an email summary of what they did, an invoice and a receipt. The last 4 or 5 months no, invoice, no receipt, and no summary of what they did when they were here. I even got a notice that I was 2 months behind on payment when I never even received a bill. I have tried calling to find out why I dont get an invoice or receipt with no luck. I want to like these guys but the customer service has deteriorated significantly. read more

After hearing noises in my attic and seeing a raccoon in my yard, I called Critter Control of Fort Lauderdale. They had helped us years ago with a rat problem and we were not disappointed this time either. They came quickly and clearly explained to me the steps they would take to drive them away or trap them and then seal up the house at several potential points of entry. We thought we had gotten rid of them but the critters were persistent. Both Matt and Spencer came out repeatedly and finally caught a raccoon family and took them away. First, it's the weekend and Heidi answered the phone (Not a service, a real person). She was so pleasant, gave me a quote, and scheduled same day service in one call. Tom, the technician called ahead and arrived as scheduled only a couple hours later. Also very pleasant, Tom took care of my iguana that was tightly lodged in my chain link fence. The iguana left in a bag and there was no remnants of where it once was. I would absolutely recommend and use again.... If ever needed.
