The service was TERRIBLE and the owner JOSE VELEZ (Joe) was extremely disrespectful, he literally yelled and insulted us over the phone after we calmly provided constructive criticism after they missed and messed up SEVERAL steps in the process, left our gates and windows open, and we had a new TV STOLEN FROM OUR PLACE in the time they were here tenting!!!! We called to calmly mention these things and talk it through as new customers but the OWNER JOSE VELEZ (JOE) went literally NUTS of the phone. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. There are much better companies out there. The tent wasn't even up a full 18hrs. We put a hold on our payment until we could discuss this with them with the intention of paying after having a civilized conversation (as it was only $2K bill - not much money at all) but JOSE VELEZ JUST YELLED and didn't even want to listen to a single word, repeating over and over through loud screams that we wanted to "screw them over" ... (again, over only 2K) ... If this is the way the owner and president of the business runs his business, he probably shouldn't run it anymore. Very low class. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! read more

I've used Captain Termite on a few properties and want to point out that they are professional and provide excellent customer service. They are very reasonably priced and responsive. Calvin came out to inspect the properties and provided recommendations and quotes very efficient and 1hr turnaround after reviewing. Went over all information and processes we would need to do before tenting and provided the bags for prep. Great man and professional. Knows the business very well and very thorough Miriam (I think I spelled correctly) handles customer service and phone calls. Super sweet and accommodating. Always answered or called back in a reasonable time frame and answered any questions we had. Chris was the head guy during the tenting process. He was very informative and went above and beyond during the tenting. I forgot my sons flag football gear and I had asked if possible to grab (I knew exact location and told him where the things would be ) and went in the day the tent came down during his walk through with the gas mask and delivered the goods ! We had our house tented by this company, and everything started OK until the breakdown to come back to the house. They told us that they would be here between four and six to take the tent off. I asked if they could call us before they came. Nobody called and they came at midnight that night to take the screen off. We used captain termite to tent our house due to - the obvious: termites. I had 4 companies come out and do an inspection and provide me with a quote. Jeanne completed the quote and seemed experienced and genuine vs. the other competitors I considered. They also didn't quote me with unnecessary services like the other companies and prices were reasonable. I wanted to get my house tented as soon as possible and was able to fit in a week after getting a quote (when another scheduled home cancelled.) They tented my house Wednesday and we were back in on Friday after they gave the okay. Before the tenting, they met with me and explained how things would go down and provided me with a folder full of info/guidelines. My home was tented this past weekend for "dry rot" termites that were aggressively chomping away on my wood beams outside. The company handled everything professionally from the estimate to the "all clear" after the work was completed. Everything was explained to me, verbally and in writing. When I had questions after hours, Rene (who gave me the estimate) responded to my call on his cell phone. Marian in the office was also helpful every time I called, from setting up the appointments to following up along the way. Although I initially panicked at the idea of having my house tented, in the end, the process was much less daunting than I anticipated. Food had to be double wrapped in the bags they provided, but there was no residue to deal with - only to unwrap the bags and put away the food. Quick appointment for an inspection and honest company that didn't sell me any unnecessary work. I called on a Friday and had an inspector at my house on the following Monday. They came within the 3 hour window which was very helpful and sadly rare these days! After doing a full inspection and asking me a few questions, they said all the termite damage was from the past and there were no active termites. She also gave me tips on what to look for and how to avoid getting an infestation. And for all that didn't charge me anything for the inspection. Captain Termite did an excellent job at a reasonable price. The representative came and did the measurements gave us a quote and scheduled the date. Unfortunately, there was a hurricane threatening the area so they advised us that they would postpone. The rep came back, sat with us and gave us detailed instructions on how to prep the house, safe guard our valuables, house plants, store foods etc. We booked a hotel for the durations and came home to find that they had removed everything - there was no major damage or loss. Quote Appointment: When I decided to tent the house, I requested quotes from 6 companies. 2 of them set up appointments and never even showed up (very inconsiderate, when you take time off work to go meet them and they leave you hanging). In this aspect, Captain Termite gets an A+. Not only did they show up at the time we agreed upon, but they also called me 30 mins before (I requested they do so) to confirm so I could leave work only for the time period needed instead of waiting for a 3 hour window like other guys requested. Expertise and Patience: All 4 of the companies that came to the house seemed like they knew what they were talking about, but it was all very scripted. I liked Captain Termite because they seem to really just have first hand experience (as opposed to just training) and the patience to explain everything to you. Professionalism and Customer Service: Unlike other companies, they answer emails every time, within an hour or so. Seriously, it's 2017, why do companies need 48 to respond? They also promptly answered the phone the couple times I called. Every single person I spoke to was very polite. Actual Tenting and Price: It all went smooth and fast as scheduled. I passed by the house while it was tented and it looked good. I have a 1650sq ft house and a 200 sq ft cottage, and they were the only ones that didn't make a big fuss about it or try to overcharge me for the cottage like it's sooo hard to just add that on. I also felt the price was very fair. Much much cheaper than the big guys (Orkin/Terminix), and about the same as other small local companies. Apart from the overall nice experience of working with them, my deciding factor was that they didn't try to take advantage of me for including the cottage. Followup: A week after the tenting I saw a bug outside the porch and didn't know if it was an ant or a termite. I emailed them, they responded quickly and cleared it up. I also found some wood poop and emailed them to ask if it was normal to see some old poop fall after the house is tented or if there was a chance this was new poop. They sent a technician over right away and she explained that was old poop. Either way, they have a year guarantee, so that makes me feel safe too. read more

The service is horrible they shut the power off and did not tellus that the power was going to be shut off. They went through our neighbours refrigerater and through out their food. They also broke a screen to open a window. They put a key thing in our lock and we can not get back in till they come take the thing off. She was able to give me a quick assessment with no strings attach. Because it was the weekend I though I would have to wait for Monday before someone could come see what I had and surprisingly, she had someone there within 30mins... On a SUNDAY! Super experience. I called for an appointment, Rene came out after phoning ahead to let me know. We discussed what I needed, he measured the house and the detached garage, gave me an estimate in minutes. We called a week later to schedule the appointment. Within days Rene was back with Vikane proof bags and instructions, he walked the perimeter of the house again to check for any potential problems for his crew, and answered any questions I had. A couple of days later (Tuesday) I got the call that the tenting crew would be showing up the scheduled day between 2-6 pm. They came around 4 pm (Wednesday) after Chris called and said they were on their way and had the property tented and gas in by 5:30. Only one crew chief enters the structure to place the lines, fans, and doorlocks. This was the first company we have used (third tenting in 25 years) which injected the gas in two separate locations in the house (flat roof, no attic), so I'm more assured that the Vikane spread through and covered the entire structure. I checked the property several times on Thursday. The tent stayed on a full day. I got a phone call from George (Jorge?) on Friday morning letting us know it was safe to occupy the home again. We came home to find the keys where asked him to put them. If you did not see the tent on the house, it would be difficult to know that Captain Termite was even there. Nothing broken, no clips left on the ground, house secured after they left and all windows closed. We're very pleased as it seems difficult to find a tenting company with good reviews.
