We had a difficult time finding the entrance (there was a truck blocking the signage--I'm assuming…read moreit was the owner's because they were unloading). We walked in and had to ask if they were open as we weren't immediately greeted. We got to choose our seats and tried to find the coolest spot because it was hot inside! According to the server--their ac was broken. It reminded us of traveling to Mexico and eating at the restaurants there . The decor is very similar and authentic to restaurants in Mexico. They even had lots of the candies found there surrounding their register area. The server was super friendly and attentive once we were seated, I just wish she would've written down our order instead of trying to take it all by memory as she got some things wrong with our order. Now onto the food. Mexican food in Hawaii is nothing to write home about. This was no exception. Our family of 4 ordered: the California Burrito, the super burrito (I actually ordered the chimichanga but it came out as a burrito), Birria tacos, Birria quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito (the hubby's favorite thing to order at a Mexican restaurant) and because it was taco Tuesday--the carne asada street tacos (which I think the server forgot because we had to remind her) and the flan for dessert. The burritos were of good size and nicely filled. I enjoyed the super burrito but it needed the red sauce that was put on the table. The shrimp inside was very flavorful. My daughter loved her California burrito (it has French fries in it--lol). The birria was delicious--the consommé was pretty bland though. The bean and cheese burrito was cold in the middle and not as generously sized as the other burritos. The best thing that we had was the flan. I love flan and the texture of theirs was amazing. The sauce was a mixed review with the family. I liked it and the fact that there was a lot of it. There was a slight fridge taste but it was still delicious. My husband tried to make a suggestion about moving the large truck that was in front of the restaurant blocking the breeze from coming (remember the broken AC...and this is a hot August afternoon) but upon telling our server he felt dismissed. He was told that the AC was broken and supposedly to be fixed soon, but she didn't acknowledge his suggestion to move the vehicle to let some air in--it's disappointing that when a customer that takes the time to provide genuine feedback to be left feeling dismissed instead of appreciation for the feedback. I feel bad for whomever may have dined after us as it was mighty warm in there...

I was so happy to he invited to this Yelp event that I was able to bring my family to try as well. We ordered a few different things but I forgot to take pictures of everything because it was so good it was gone before I remembered lol. My husband ordered the BBQ mix plate (chicken, kalbi, beef) the flavors were delicious! The kalbi had a good amount of meat and was very tender. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. The beef was a little tough but not bad. My son ordered the laulau kalua pig combo and omg...soooo ono! The pig was juicy and perfectly smoked. I with there was a little more of it and less cabbage but would still order again. The laulau was delicious with a generous amount of pork. I love that it wasn't salty and you can actually taste the flavor of the pork and lū'au leaf. We ordered my daughter fried fish plate and she said it was good but she didn't care for the Mac salad because it had onion. The pineapple cucumber juice was very refreshing but tasted mainly of cucumber. While we were there my son tried the 808 timer challange and won! He hit the timer right at 808 and won a $20 gift card we will definitely be back to use! They are also running a 2nd anniversary special with 12% off your 1st order online and $6.99 all day breakfast. Make sure to sign up for the loyalty program to earn points towards free food!

Both were very good, but the Mochiko chicken was the big star according to everybody at church! I also recommend calling ahead, or even ordering ahead from their website. I already paid for it, saves time, especially if a larger order like mine. It took about 25 minutes because there were other customers there too. Don't forget to play the game right next to the register, push the button and if you can stop the timer on 8.08 seconds, you get a $20 gift certificate! I got 8.03! Lol

Located by Kunia Walmart and Subway, this location offers amazing local dishes and specialty drinks. Compared to similar businesses, the price here is right and it's time for my review! There is ample parking since it is in the Walmart parking lot and the service here is quick. The lovely Lemin crafts the most refreshing smoothies, boba drinks, teas, and my favorite.... the bubble waffle cone! If you haven't treated yourself to this, it is a MUST TRY! Alongside Lemin is Vicki and Vali who are the frontline workers who will always great you with a warm smile. During peak hours they maybe multi-tasking with phone orders and walk in customers, but they will find time to kindly service you! The seating area is a bit small for bigger parties, but the turnover rate seems quick. The establishment is well kept, clean (I do witness the sanitation of tables), and has AC for those hot Hawaii days. Our ohana usually comes in every week. Whether its personal plates, burgers, refreshing treats, or party pans, Loco Moco has been our designated foodie spot! So.... What to order? I am a very picky eater, but I highly recommend the garlic mahi mahi, teriyaki steaks, BBQ cheeseburger, garlic shrimp, chicken katsu, house salad (ask for their special dressing), and of course mochiko chicken. If you are ordering pans, a small size goes a long way! We have never had issues with the quality of food nor the service. The workers are fun to talk around with and will guide you to your foodie needs ;) BUUTT don't forget to get the bubble waffle cone! I can't stress that treat enough! It's unclear to me how some people gave 1star ratings. They probably just had a really bad day or something and needed to vent, but don't let them steer you away from enjoying some delicious AFFORDABLE food! So if you're near, make sure you stop by :D

We enjoyed our meals of spicy fried pork chops and a hamburger steak plate that had a wonderful amount of gravy.
