My two daughters really enjoyed this class, with this being some prep for the Raita

The commentary from Stephanie and Barbara in their prior reviews is 100% accurate. As opposed to it just being a cookery class (a great class....more below), we got the background as to where dishes originated, which spices to use and when. What I liked was the willingness to improvise and shift around the dishes we would cook, based on what we liked to eat. To the extent that she sent one of her family out to get some extra ingredients. The kitchen space for preparing food is fine. The 4 of us had no issues at all. I thoroughly recommend this class by Meghna!

I took my date here for a couple's cooking class session and it was wonderful! Meghna is a great teacher and started the class off with intros and some history of the spices we were going to use for the class. She kindly offered us wine and beverages and went over the foods we were going to cook. We then prepped the ingredients for the 4 dishes we were going to cook for the night. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, we cooked our appetizer course and had that as a snack while continuing to prepare our dinner. I loved the fact that we roasted the whole spices, ground them and then used them in our dishes, it added so much flavor and aroma and elevated everything to the next level. Loved the entire experience and highly recommend!

My partner and I had such a great time learning and cooking Indian cuisine with Meghna! Meghna started by introducing the different spices (which honestly made me want my own spice box) and walking us through the different foods throughout India. We are in no way experts in the kitchen so didn't know what to expect and was even slightly anxious, but Meghna was so patient and went with our pace. The food was absolutely delicious and it made us feel so proud and accomplished. Can't wait to cook what we learned for our friends!

This class is so fun and I highly recommend to anyone who loves cooking or loves food. I love how Meghna makes the cooking class so approachable and casual. She spent time answering our questions and diving in deep to explain each ingredient we were using. I learned SO much about Indian spices, different foods in different regions of India, and even cultural significance of common ingredients that I've used many times. The food we made was delicious and it was overall just an awesome time. I will be making some of these recipes at home and returning for more!

Crimson Kitchen is an exceptional culinary experience. Welcomed with kind hospitality, Meghna taught my husband and me the distinct delicacies of each Indian region. Meticulously, we journeyed through the beautifully colored and flavored spices. Preparation, organization, and detail were impeccable. The dishes we prepared were flavorful and delightful. As this was a private lesson, we were able to capture the essence, beauty, and joy of creating this delicious cuisine. We are greatly appreciated and humbled to have Meghna as our host and Indian cooking guru. Definitely worth every moment and every bite!

Meghna and her Crimson Kitchen cooking lessons were great! My daughter and I did the class together and we both loved all we learned about the culture and spices and cooking. Meghna is delightful and an excellent teacher. Plus, we got to sit down and enjoy all we and the other father/son group made afterwards.

The food was incredible, and Meghna made sure to break it down so we could easily follow and remember all the steps!

The communal table seating is a fun way to meet new people, talk about shared passion for food & culture. The food was beautifully presented & delicious! Chef Gracie & her crew did a wonderful job. The dining tables had small appetizers waiting for us upon arrival to graze and enjoy until the formal service started. I overheard her say that she knew we'd be hungry so she prepared some wonderful breads & dips in advance. The strawberry soup was interesting, not too sweet but had savory toppings that added flavor & texture. The beet salad and duck were presented family style and the duck was perfection, tender & flavorful. Dessert (lemon gelato) was served individually & was a refreshing end to our meal. Each course was paired with a wine where the history of the wine was shared by the sommelier of the evening. Overall, a fun event with delicious food & we met some interesting people.

Luckily, it's in the Mission, so there are other things to do to make the parking garage fees worth it. They measure and prep the ingredients for you. The specific class I took didn't require much action other than combining, stirring, and a tiny amount of chopping. You're in groups, so you can skip doing anything you don't want to do. The assistants are friendly and super talkative. Eating at the big table with everyone else was fun. They had beer, wine, and a nonalcoholic cocktail as well. I came with someone, but I think going solo wouldn't be too awkward. It's almost $200 for 3 hours and it's pretty inconvenient since I don't live in the area, but I'd recommend it for a fun evening!

Ok, not quite, but... I just had my first check-up in years where everything was good. All of my long-term health issues were under control and all the bloodwork was in target ranges. And I had lost 20 pounds. Chef Savvy's food was a huge part of that. Having predictably clean and healthy food every night has cut down on the junk convenience food that was clogging my arteries. I eat healthy by default, rather than trying to force myself. Consider this another reason to sign up immediately for this service. Do your doctor the favor of not having to nag you anymore.

Chef Savvy is very accommodating and cooks with care. We feel better after eating her meals as we are now eating much healthier for both lunch and dinner. She also takes into account dietary preferences and modifies recipes as necessary. We are very happy we found her!

Then I found Brigitte and White Apron. Brigitte's sent me a great intake questionnaire that went through what I liked, what I didn't--down to specific foods and ingredients. Brigitte and Collin then created meals catered to my tastes and calorie goals (paleo, ~700 calories/meal). Every week, I'd send in feedback on that week's food and we'd tweak things further (eg, cook asparagus in a certain way, no on specific spices, etc). Such a far cry from the on-demand food startups! The thing I loved the most about White Apron is the personal attention I got from the chefs about my likes, dislikes, and suggestions. They're extremely receptive to everything and crafted meals just for my tastes. If you're looking for a personal chef in San Francisco, I highly recommend White Apron.

Brigitte made a simple but well seasoned salad of fresh organic veggies and mixed herbs. This was complimented by a hearty, soul-warming lamb curry. I was delighted by her take on the curry. The meat was fork-tender and the spices were complex and savory but not overwhelming. We finished up with a playful make-your-own sundae and relaxed with happy full bellies. I'd have Brigitte over to cook for me any time!
