What stood out most to me was how seen and heard I felt throughout the project. Dawn took the time to really listen and understand what we were hoping to create and she delivered something more beautiful than we imagined. Her landscape design was so stunning that we're actually planning to frame it, it's truly a work of art! It was also so refreshing to work with a woman-owned business in this industry. I never once felt like I was being upsold or talked down to. She made every effort to work within our budget and I felt respected and included every step of the way. You can tell Dawn genuinely cares about both her clients and her team in the way because of the pride and care that show up in every detail of her work. The crew was friendly, professional, and tidy, and the communication from start to finish was excellent. They worked very efficiently and did a beautiful job bringing the design to life. Every question I had was answered promptly and thoughtfully and I always felt in the loop. I can't recommend Rooted Outdoor Living highly enough. They're a small local team doing incredible, honest, and artistic work. It's the kind of business I'm proud to support and tell everyone about!

We ended up framing the drawings she provided because they we so beautiful! Throughout the project we had a few changes and additions and Dawn was surprisingly accommodating. Her crew did a terrific job and were clean and professional in their work. Rooted Outdoor Living was not the cheapest option we explored, but their professionalism and quality of work made the cost absolutely worth it and I would argue represents a good value for what they provide. We are looking forward to enjoying our new outdoor space for many years.

They installed some pathetic looking, almost dead plants and left a garden that I wanted removed with old flowers and bushes, untouched. I wanted it replaced with sod. They also dug up much of my almost new Invisible Fence. They did not have one of the trees on the plan but "gave me one for free", which I did appreciate, however it was requested initially and never made it to the plan. Less than two weeks later weeds and several of the plants I had them remove were popping back up. When I called, emailed and texted my complaint about the plants that were in such bad shape, I heard nothing from the company. Finally, after 2 weeks of hounding them my salesman called and came out. He agreed with me and sent a crew out to remove the weeds and the sad looking bushes and add mulch and to finish the unfinished sod. The foreman did not see the sod portion of the job on the plan, it was not in the actual place on the plan where it was in the yard. That was about ten days ago and again no one will return my calls or emails or texts to finish the job. If you want a good job done on your landscaping, do not call Ware Landscaping, all they really care about is your money. I spent $8,000, they wouldn't even listen to my problem and I got a shoddy, incomplete job. Greg called, apologized and came over and a week later, got the job done and even gave me another tree for no charge. Greg stayed at the job during the process, even though he is a salesman, to make sure it got done right. I was satisfied in the end.

They do whatever the person who pays them asks them to do with no concern towards the adjoining neighbour or the law. So they drilled rock into the back of our neighbor's yard to make it more dry during the pandemic and took out every single one of our fence posts ($2000 to rebuild fence). They leaned over our back fence and trimmed our back trees to the point that one became a tall stump with no top (it still exists, as a tall growing stump). And, they've trimmed my beautiful Maple tree on our side yard to the point that it started to lean on our garage, once again with their workers leaning over the fence line. I had to hire a service yearly to try to balance out their trimming, but they lean over my fence line about 3 feet into our tree and leave the tree branches on our side. I don't know if they know anything about Illinois laws regarding tree trimming--I'm guessing not. The icing on the cake was seeing their men on my driveway treating my front yard, without my permission, on camera, only because my neighbour (who has residency in Turks and Caicos Islands) asked them to put weed killer on my front yard. Unethical company. My tree company will not touch trees belonging to the neighbors. They've also installed a sprinkler in our front yard (?!) I had to put in a front yard fence to keep them off my lawn. I now have outside cameras and I've given them notice that I'm recording their workers (who of course all don't speak English no offence) trespassing on our yard. I get it -- neighbors can be not so great, but it's amazing what this company will do, in the name of making a buck. It's not like any of this would have happened if a normal landscaping company with ethics was doing the work. Something really is "off" re this company and when I try to speak to their workers, none of them will speak to me. I have to contact the owner every single time via phone or email. Who leaves workers with a tree elevator that lifts them up, with no English speaking person on the crew, and then they're lifting the person over the neighbor's fence to trim the neighbor's trees and I have zero time to even stop them. They only stop, actually, if you start videotaping them. And, then, they wait, and continue, if they think you're gone. Anything goes!
