However, after my experience at this store on October 3, 2026, I will be exploring other options for my wireless service. I visited this location to upgrade my phone and remove an unnecessary line after discovering an error on my billing account. When I began explaining the situation to Jocelyn, she interrupted me and appeared inconvenienced by my requests, immediately directing me to call customer service. I was left wondering why I was visiting an AT&T store if the staff were unwilling to assist with a customer account issue. Jocelyn explained that the error had been created by a former AT&T employee and that this type of issue was a common occurrence. Despite my repeated attempts to obtain assistance, she maintained that there was nothing she could do to help. Her demeanor came across as dismissive and unprofessional, and I saw little effort or genuine concern toward resolving the problem. Instead, I observed casual conversations with a trainee about personal preferences, including ringtones, while my issue remained unaddressed. After I continued requesting assistance, Jocelyn eventually agreed to call customer service on my behalf, explaining that she did not want to involve a supervisor on a Saturday. After spending approximately two hours in the store, the issue remained unresolved, and I felt that little meaningful effort had been made to address an error originating on AT&T's end. When I mentioned that I might switch to Verizon, Jocelyn appeared relieved by the prospect and acknowledged that Verizon might be able to resolve the issue. Following this unsuccessful two-hour visit, I called AT&T customer service myself and spoke with Daniel, who was exceptionally courteous, professional, and helpful. Within the first minute of our conversation, he identified the error on my account and explained that he would open a case to get the issue addressed. The contrast between Daniel's willingness to help and the experience I had in the store was remarkable. As a first responder who has supported AT&T/FirstNet for years, I expected a much higher standard of customer service. This is the first review I have written in a long time, and I felt compelled to share my experience because of how disappointing it was. What should have been a straightforward request turned into two hours of frustration, with no resolution and little apparent interest in helping a loyal customer. Ultimately, this store has given me a reason to reconsider my loyalty to AT&T. I had intended to upgrade my phone and make changes to my account that would have resulted in additional business for the company. Instead, I left with nothing accomplished and a significantly diminished opinion of the service provided at this location. An extremely disappointing experience. Six months ago, we stop by the Consumer Cellular store at Gulf Coast Town Center to inquire about their plans and availability of iPhone 16. At the time of switching, Apple announced their 16 iPhones. We did not wait to upgrade to iPhone 16. We switched and used our old iPhones without any issue. With AARP membership and auto payment, we reduced our expense by nearly 50% per month! The store is huge, clean and organized with many sample phones, device accessories on display. We waited for six months and finally upgraded our devices to iPhone 16 with IOS 18.3 this week! Within one hour, we completed our upgrades flawlessly! The staff at the Gulf Coast Town Center location is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. David is a seasoned technical professional with excellent people skill!
