Our trip to Montana was amazing, and the first evening started with stay here. Ms Nance and Richard are such warm hosts. At breakfast they are a fountain of information about Gardiner and the Park. Breakfast was a wide array of delicious choices, and Ms Nance is quick to adapt to your tastes if you stayed multiple nights. But Pro-Tip, tell her ahead of time if you have a particular want. We had a private room with a bathroom. It was very comfortable and warm. Especially considering it was below zero at the time. They also leave out tea and snacks downstairs, so We enjoyed a cup of hot tea as we warmed up from our walk. Location! This wonderful home couldn't be closer to the park entrance. As well, they are walking distance to the local restaurants. It was the start of winter so I didn't get a chance to take advantage of fly fishing, but Richard owns Parks Fly Shop, just around the corner. Book a stay here! You will love it!

I stayed in the recently renovated building that the owner says was finished roughly a month ago…read more You can tell. It still smells like paint and lacquer. Rooms are decently well equipped. Satellite TV, stainless minifridge and modern kitchenette. Two relatively large beds (fulls, I think) with decent enough bedding. The mattresses are too soft and provide no support though, and the frames don't grip the floor very well. If you hop on the bed, the beds slide and I don't even weigh that much. Whoever did the remodel did an okay job. You know those types of coat hangers where you have to install a fixed ring onto a rod? They fixed the rod in place before installing the rings, so our room (#7) didn't have usable coat hangers. Breakfast isn't bad. Essentially continental (prepacked oatmeal, milk, Belgian waffles, yogurt, etc.) but with some bacon and scrambled eggs too. Bacon was pretty good, eggs have gotten better since the previous photo posted by J S. The owner is nice enough, though some of the night-shift employees are a bit... off, in terms of customer courtesy. "How's it going everyone?" I said to the three or so people in the room when we rolled up in the evening after our long day in Yellowstone. "Can I help you?" along with some snippy remark about me dropping the cup I was trying to throw away, is not a valid response to that question. Overall, for less than $200 a night, could be a lot better, could be worse.

We walked to four different Gardiner restaurants from our hotel. Although breakfast is not included in the hotel, we made our own breakfast for four days. They did not include a toaster. We asked and they found one and brought it to our room. The rooms are clean and spacious. It is less than 1 mile from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Great customer service and would definitely stay there again.

Our room had a kitchen in it, which would've been helpful if we had been staying for more than one night. The morning breakfast was OK, but not that memorable. I went elsewhere and chose not to stay there. The owner threatened to take me to court for the amount, but would settle for one night. Due to my second parent dying this year, I did not respond immediately give them the one night. The owner counted down the days and said the following "Crista, This is Jeannette Mikos (owner) of the Yellowstone Basin Inn. We have allowed for 13 days to receive your payment by check by mail. No payment has been received. If we do not receive payment for the 1 night stay of $351 by 8/1/2025, we will have to pursue with the local District Justice for the full 3 nights of stay, $1,053. Please contact us with payment of the $351. Thank you." I informed her my mother had died 2.5 months after my dad and that paying her wasn't at the top of my list. No response. Yellowstone is the number 1 international destination. If a business won't accommodate a change and will chase you for one nights stay, it's because they are not making a lot of money. Stay at your own risk.

I loved it so much we extended our stay another night (from two to three nights)... well had I not extended it it would have been 5 stars. However since we had gotten up early the previous morning I'm talking 3 am to drive into park before sunrise, we hoped to sleep in, but I was awoken by a LOT of noise around 6 am. I was so sad as the previous two nights were barely short of perfect. I literally had to go investigate where this loud banging was coming from... it was behind a closed "employee door" and I believe it was laundry and there must have been boots in the dryer or something that was banging every 3 seconds. Cry face. So I guess the walls and ceilings aren't as sound proof as I had originally thought, I also stayed at a time where it was not sold out so that may have helped my first impression. I recommend very much if you are a deep sleeper. I would most likely stay again as well but ask for maybe an end of the hall room away from laundry. Also service was fantastic and the two men we encountered working were soooo friendly and nice and we liked chatting with them. Breakfast I didn't have but hubs said it was a great layout. I definitely should note the Bed and pillows were comfy. It was a softer bed but still supportive and my bed at home is pretty dang firm and I slept great (other than above). West Yellowstone is adorable and don't miss out on the Buffalo bar.

There are so many food options close by that it was hard to make decisions on where to go! We stayed here three nights over a long weekend for a friend's wedding. There is a rabbit in the yard who enjoys peanuts! Who knew? Came right up to us and took a few peanuts from our hands. The room was gorgeous and when the window was open you could easily hear the water fountain feature in the yard, which was incredibly relaxing. The tipis were every bit as wonderful as depicted and the private bathrooms just incredible! Sure, they were shared but ratio of bathrooms to tipis very manageable. And the staff literally went in to clean and sanitize every hour -- I always felt that I was entering a freshly cleaned luxurious bathroom suite. This review has to be long winded because there are so many wonderful things you should know about Dreamcatcher! We visited the third week of May and the nights were very cold but the beds with electric blankets and the modern space heaters kept everything cozy and inviting. As someone who has to make trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night now, I was grateful that my request to have a tipi fairly close to bathrooms was cheerfully accommodated, and I really appreciated the heated bathrooms with heated floors. I think even in summer guests will appreciate a warm bathroom at night. Every single member of the staff, and I interacted with at least 4 different folks, were engaged, friendly, and welcoming. It's easy to tell when employees are happy and in a company that is run well because it reflects on interactions with guests. The excellent morning coffee/breakfast station and nightly campfire were awesome!!! The only things I would suggest to the company is (1) add some bathrooms that are toilet stalls only so if it's crowded and you just need to pee you can get right in and (2) add an outdoor kitchen sink with a clear sign that folks using a barbecue grill, kitchen utensils and such DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM to clean these items. I stumbled upon a guy in one of these beautiful bathroom suites using the sink to clean a dirty grill (yuck) and saw his friend coming over with his grill ready to jump in there as well. For those of us who are strict vegetarian for cultural reasons, it is taboo to come in contact with things that have held meat. Thankfully the staff kept the bathroom clean though.

It was toasted just right and has just a splash of balsamic glaze that added the best balance. Whole cloves of roasted garlic on there too! The chili, I can honestly say beat mine, and I make a damn good chili! Just the right amount of heat and the jalapeño cornbread added just the right texture.
