And they have a lot of fun coffee syrup flavors if that's your thing (toasted marshmallow, huckleberry, etc.) We skipped the bakery case, but they have a lot of tempting treats! We were there right as they were turning over from lunch service to dinner, so beware they do close for an hour for that (saw some sad folks wishing they could get in during that hour). They had a couple of tvs if you were looking to keep an eye on any games, but also the dining room is super cozy with a fireplace, and a couch sitting area for those just grabbing a coffee. It was snowy when we were there, but they have a cute little patio area too that I'm sure is great in the summer.

A whole ravioli went un-enjoyed by a tragic fumble of the fork. The ravioli was delicious and clearly made with love. The cream sauce was surprisingly light for a creamy sauce. I believe this could easily be their signature dish. My friend also had a pasta dish and really enjoyed it. Ambiance-wise, it can't be beat. I was genuinely taken by the collection of Nate Udd's artwork available for purchase, as well as the work of several other artists and photographers.

Our trip to Montana was amazing, and the first evening started with stay here. Ms Nance and Richard are such warm hosts. At breakfast they are a fountain of information about Gardiner and the Park. Breakfast was a wide array of delicious choices, and Ms Nance is quick to adapt to your tastes if you stayed multiple nights. But Pro-Tip, tell her ahead of time if you have a particular want. We had a private room with a bathroom. It was very comfortable and warm. Especially considering it was below zero at the time. They also leave out tea and snacks downstairs, so We enjoyed a cup of hot tea as we warmed up from our walk. Location! This wonderful home couldn't be closer to the park entrance. As well, they are walking distance to the local restaurants. It was the start of winter so I didn't get a chance to take advantage of fly fishing, but Richard owns Parks Fly Shop, just around the corner. Book a stay here! You will love it!

I met the housekeeper named Karen, which she's a lovely lady to talk to, helped me out check in and gave me a passcode to enter our room. I booked at the studio lodge which came with a small kitchen, fridge, dining sets, coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans, and a knife set. It was a really nice set up if you're planning on cooking something instead of ordering through the Grillhouse next door. The room does have AC, TV with AppleTV 4K, a full size bed and a stand in shower in the bathroom. Overall, this place was really nice and clean. There is also a menu of the grill house in case if you wanted to order something, very convenient. I got up early in the morning and made myself breakfast using the kitchen which is exactly what I wanted out of the room. All appliances work great and had no issues. Now just looking at the reviews here, I now realize why it was cheap. I honestly think that they have made an effort in changing their history and I think they did an amazing job. My experience here have been overall positive and I would book with them again for the utility that the room has.

(Perhaps because they are gigantic) In fact, there was a mule deer in the yard next door to the hotel, when we arrived and also cotton tail rabbits running around in the streets. The historical and famous Roosevelt Arch is just a block away from the hotel. The river is also only a block. There are restaurants just across the street or down the street from the hotel that are decent including Cowboys which has Bison Burgers. The town is incredibly small but getting the hotel was almost as if we were getting to stay in Yellowstone, even though we were in the off season, when Yellowstone does not offer any hotels within the park. The hotel was absolutely lovely. Many of the design features are in the craftsmen building style and the building itself dates back more than a hundred years. Around the time that the US Parks department took over Fort Yellowstone, this building was built. Despite its age, it has been retrofitted with all the modern trappings like wireless internet, plenty of plugins for electronics, clean modern bathrooms, and flat screen TVs. Our particular room had a retro style, electric heater which looked like an old kettle heater. This was not the sole source of heat though as there was a thermostat that could be operated for regular heating. The interior of the hotel was eloquently decorated in cabin and woodsy themes. You truly felt like you were transported to a mythical cabin in a rugged wilderness. The rooms we had were combined together by a walkway and they offered us all the comforts and joys of home such as a Kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, range, oven, and cookware and also a newer model washer and dreyer. The only thing to consider is that due to the age of the building and the wood floor boards, you do hear people quite well going up and down the stairs outside the rooms. The owner Tami went out of her way to accommodate us after a mix-up with Priceline when we booked. It is better to book from the direct website than to do what we did and book through an online travel agency. Tami was fair and honest, and very personable. If you meet her its like meeting an old friend even though she is the hotel owner. Parking was available on the street outside the hotel. We never had any problems finding a space to park. Overall I think this hotel has great value especially when considering you get all the comforts of home right on the doorstep of one of the world's most beautiful nature areas. I would likely book again if I want to travel to the northwest entrance of Yellowstone near Mammoth Hot Springs.

This place was great! Absolutely phenomenal…read more First, the customer service was awesome. We needed a hotel last-minute to recover from stomach illness/food poisoning before we could fly home. The woman at the front desk was so kind when I explained our predicament. She helped me with understanding the policies and finding a room for us to check into early. She even made sure we had a first floor room because my spouse had broken his ankle on the trip. I appreciated her so much, I wanted to hug her - she kind of saved our day! Then, when trying to use the luggage rack to get all of our luggage in, I had trouble, and one of the housecleaning staff just came over and started helping me get it over the threshold of the back door. Throughout our stay, everyone was just wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub. The bathroom and room were extremely clean, and I notice when one isn't pristine. The mini fridge was very helpful! (not all rooms have one). We had to hunker down and stay here for two days, and it was a very nice place to be! There is a local grocery store very close by where we could get a few supplies. When we were up to it, the game room was great. We played ping pong by borrowing paddles/ball from the front desk, and we played trivia out of the assortment of board/card games. Some of those games were a bit old/disheveled but still fun. The exercise room was also nice and I used the mats to do my physical therapy exercises. The exercise room and game room were plenty spacious. There was also a free continental breakfast, and a laundry room with two washers, two dryers and a vending machine and ice. Overall, staying here was one of the best things that happened on our trip to Yellowstone. We were awfully glad to find it and would highly highly recommend.

The location is excellent--right in town and close to restaurants, shops, and the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. One of the highlights was seeing a moose walking through the neighborhood, which made the experience even more memorable. The heating and air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping the room comfortable regardless of the weather outside. Overall, Yellowstone Gateway Inn was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location. We would definitely stay here again.

Black pet hair all over the unit. Just because we have pets doesn't mean we don't want a clean unit and we certainly paid extra for that. We ended up going to the store for cleaning supplies to clean the counters, table tops etc.. See the picture. Absolutely unacceptable at any price. It was so bad we were concerned whether our linen had been changed. Too bad, because it otherwise would have been a pretty nice place. UPDATED 10/18/26 - a final positive note. My wife heard from the management as she responded to a direct request from them to provide feedback. They apologized; said that they will take this information to housekeeping; provided a partial credit. Genuinely seemed to be concerned about the feedback on our stay.
