I was looking for a place to spend a night at Gardiner, MT and found this lodge through a hotel website with a great deal so I decided to book it since I'm solely there for a few hours to sleep before getting up early in the morning and driving to Yellowstone. I met the housekeeper named Karen, which she's a lovely lady to talk to, helped me out check in and gave me a passcode to enter our room. I booked at the studio lodge which came with a small kitchen, fridge, dining sets, coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans, and a knife set. It was a really nice set up if you're planning on cooking something instead of ordering through the Grillhouse next door. The room does have AC, TV with AppleTV 4K, a full size bed and a stand in shower in the bathroom. Overall, this place was really nice and clean. There is also a menu of the grill house in case if you wanted to order something, very convenient. I got up early in the morning and made myself breakfast using the kitchen which is exactly what I wanted out of the room. All appliances work great and had no issues. Now just looking at the reviews here, I now realize why it was cheap. I honestly think that they have made an effort in changing their history and I think they did an amazing job. My experience here have been overall positive and I would book with them again for the utility that the room has. read more

Cowboy Lodge and Grill Worst food of our life, run done walk away. we were visiting Yellowstone and happened to end up at this place. After waiting for 1 1/2 hour, yes one and half, we got 3 pieces of black plastic placed in the middle of two dry buns and some fries. We should not have waited, we should not have eaten that rubber band but after whole day walking, hiking at 7 pm we were so hungry we just did. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE. Cowboy's Lodge has BED BUGS. I stayed one night and got bitten all over my body. The infestation was that bad. Not only did I have to contend with painful, itchy, horrible bites for the next month but COWBOY's LODGE AND GRILLE REFUSED TO ADMIT THEY HAVE BED BUGS. They refused to reimburse us even though we paid for 2 nights and could not stay there a second night since it was crawling with blood sucking disgusting bugs. We had to pay for another hotel room somewhere else for premium rates because it was last minute booking. They denied the whole thing and tried to tell us we were making it up. Even though I had bites everywhere and we found LIVE BUGS IN THEIR BEDS. I spent my trip to Yellowstone suffering pain and discomfort and it was almost ruined. IT WAS HORRIBLE. Since they refused to admit they have bed bugs they WILL STILL HAVE BED BUGS. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT. If I could put negative stars I would read more

Awesome, awesome burgers! Tasty and fresh grilled bun, cooked perfectly, had huckleberry habanero sauce on mine, amazing!! Fries could be better, not a fan of the battered fries. They were fresh but prefer natural cut or steak fries. The Vermont Cheddar Fried Curds with the Huckleberry Habanero sauce is great, paired with a Brickhaus Blood Orange Blonde! Yummy! Staff had masks but some were wearing below their noses. Will definitely be back here again!! read more

Great atmosphere good food but bad service. We asked to sit outside because we had our dog with us. We had to go inside and order at the register, was told to get myself our drinks and condiments and was brought our food in a to go bag and never heard or saw them again. They were very understaffed even if we would have been inside there were only two people waiting on tables and lots of people going in. read more

IMMEDIATELY NO! I felt like I got robbed. Not great food, even worse service. Took 30 minutes to get a table (wasn't a problem). Once we finally sat down it took 15 minutes for a server to come over just to say "you ready". I had a 21$ burger, so for that price you're expecting something a little tasty. Burger was well done when I asked for medium rare, and just didn't have much taste at all. I had a burger from the walk up grille at old faithful, and that was immensely better then what I was served. Felt like i should've spent 20 bucks instead of the 70 I spent, for the lack of service, and the lack of a burger really. Sadly they were about the only place open at the time. We stayed in the lodge for 3 nights and LOVED IT! (Never tried the grill). After a few nights in a tradition hotel room, our teens were thrilled to get their own room & own bed! They even had big noisy fans in each room...just like we like it for white noise. :) Easy walk to laundry & restaurants. We would stay here again & recommend to others. Great find! My only suggestion would be the need for black out curtains for those of us who love to sleep in late while on vacation! read more

Randomly booked a room here because we didn't like the chaos inside Yellowstone. So cute! It was perfect. This is the way to do Yellowstone. Close enough to enter the cool part of the Park, but get away from the crowds and lines for food. Here you have choices. Staff at restaurant and lodge were beyond friendly and accommodating. We were sad it wasn't available a 2nd night. It has everything you need to be comfortable. Beds are super comfy, Netflix, full kitchen, very cute western decor. Right next to awesome restaurant and close enough to walk to shops. Perfect! read more

I'm a little surprised by the not so positive reviews of Cowboy's. We always stop in when visiting the park, it's our little comfort food splurge :) The ribs are fantastic, winter slaw delicious, pulled pork savory & the cobblers are slightly rudimentary but OMG good. read more

We had reservations to stay at this motel in late December. We had made our reservations three weeks in advance. When we arrived in the evening, the motel was closed. There were signs hung up that said they were closed for the season. It was freezing out, when we looked in the windows, the place was in disarray and filthy. We called the number on the door and no one answered. We ended up staying somewhere else and the cowboy lodge still charged us and refused to reimburse us. I would leave a zero if I could... 1. The waitress was not pleasant. And downright rude to others. 2. The kids' Mac n cheese was a tiny bowl of the boxed variety. You know, the buck a box Kraft or the store brand, 3 for a buck? Yup. That was their Mac n cheese, and it was a tiny bowl, so less than half a box worth. There were re NO side dishes. No fruit, no veggies, no anything. For EIGHT BUCKS!!!! What the hell! We asked for sides, but they were closing up and NOT accommodating. The kids polished off what we didn't eat. 3. My meal. I ordered the chicken fried steak. So stoked. The corn was AWESOME!! The potatoes were very cold, and the gravy was very skimpy. And best of all, the steak was raw in the middle. Pink as all get out. Let them know. Came out hot with new steak, but the potatoes were cold, more gravy, but cold spuds are just gross. And the steak?? STILL PINK, very pink, in middle!! 4. The cod sandwiches...the inlaws ordered these and they were very OVER cooked.... We had a long, full, exciting day in Yellowstone, and this was the disappointment we ended up with....! read more

We were looking for last-minute lodging in Gardiner, and Gina was super helpful and gracious to throw together our 2-bedroom lodge in a very short amount of time. There were 3 adults and a baby in our group, and the lodge was the perfect spot. Would comfortably sleep 6 people, great location within Gardiner, and easy access to the north entrance of Yellowstone. Highly recommend for a family! read more

The food cooked even worse than regular fast food restaurant. But the price is much high. They pay attention to collect money instead of service to customers.
