    Did I say rustic?
    D R.

Rustic. Very rustic. At first glance I thought the motel section in back was a homeless shelter. Our room was in the historic building and was so old TVs haven't been installed BUT we did have a toilet and bathtub (community showers down the hall). Grease pit Fan from timberline cafe running pretty constantly through our open window with no screen. Total firetrap, but alarms in room. Yellowstone entrance two blocks. Oh, GF and her black light not impressed with linens and carpets. Staff very nice as well.

    Nice for the winter

Old hotel from the frontier days I really like the lobby with all the outdoor wall hanging a plus the stuffed buffalo is a nice touch. The whole hotel is a wilderness theme the rooms are old which is alright. It's connected to probably the nicest gift/souvenir shops in town it even has a talking buffalo on the wall. Make sure and stop in

The check-in lady was really friendly and we were happy to learn about the free coffee and hot chocolate making machine (it reminded me of an ice skating rink?) in the main building. We were happy that we were able to park right outside of our room. The price seemed fine (not the lowest but not terrible). For some reason I have no memories of the room. They didn't have a breakfast option on-site but each of the guests got a $5 off coupon for Timberline Cafe. I believe it could also be used at some other near-by restaurant but the other one wasn't open that day. We would have probably spent two nights here (instead of one) if they had more nights available.

Very cute hotel with small charming rooms. Try the huckleberry hot cocoa in the back! Nothing over the top, but it was cute and the staff was friendly enough.

We stayed here in mid May of 2016. Very clean and well maintained. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of shops and restaurants. We would stay here again.

Love all the old Timberwood and antlers!

Small, basic rooms; very comfortable and clean. No hairdryer, heater worked well and was silent. Very friendly.

The room was spacious, having a side table for us to spread out. Beds were very comfortable. The restaurant where the breakfast was served was a cozy room with a nice Western vibe. Good country music played in the background. Breakfast was your basic kind of hotel food-I did like the variety of cold items like the yogurt selection and the cereal selection. The lobby served coffee, hot apple cider, and hot cocoa with marshmallows which was nice after our long tour of Yellowstone National Park. The lobby of the hotel was nicely decorated for the Fall with a beautiful Fall themed Christmas Tree. The pool and hot tub were nice and spacious and they had a water slide which was fast, but fun. A plus was it was located in the end of town so it was nice and quiet. Quick 5-7 minute walk to the center of town. Only minor dislikes were the shower where there were no grab bars and that the TV didn't work so well. Someone came in to fix it though. The tub also clogged with water during showers. Would recommend! Thank you for a great stay!

Our room had two king beds and was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast each morning had plenty of choices and the food was very tasty. All in all I would recommend the BWDI as a base while visiting beautiful Yellowstone. I also have to give a big shoutout to the Hotel Manager who kindly made the effort to ship back to my home a backpack that I carelessly left in the lobby during checkout.

We stayed in the motel part, and while the room was on the smaller side, was adequate. They have fresh baked cookies in the lobby and you get a voucher valid for up to $10 for breakfast and coffee, juice, soda, or hot chocolate. The front desk gals were friendly. We didn't use the pool (outdoor) or hot tub, but they looked nice. We paid about $170 per night not including taxes. They have RV parking. The last two nights, it seemed that a lot of the hot water ran out from others utilizing the shower next door at the same time. 2023 #51

Highly recommended as it came with our room. The room was clean, decorated, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning was excellent. The TV had a wide selection of channels, and it all worked correctly and was clean. Yes, this hotel may be costing just a little bit more. Since we will know, most likely not be back to Yellowstone I will tell you the truth in stating that they are under pricing their rooms at this place . They should be asking $100 more a night. Conservative estimate of everything that I've seen throughout all different hotel states and areas. They need to up their rates because they are actually too low by at least 20 to 40%. When we have breakfast, we watched a head, waiter training, a newer waiter. I was actually watching in a managerial way to see if he was following the correct way to train new employees. He was perfect and followed every single cell. They were polite, respectful, and their jobs extremely well. We really appreciated that Highly recommend

We had one outside bed in lower living room and needed an extra bed for my son. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with a small foldable foam bed. We had plenty of room for everyone. Of the 8 bedrooms, 6 have king size beds, and two of them have private full baths. There are 3 additional full baths for the others. The cabin itself is pretty new, so everything was clean and in working order. The location is very close to the west entrance to the park, and is convenient to downtown shops and restaurants. The kitchen had plenty of plates, silverware, pots and pans, etc. I was especially impressed with the quality of the pots and pans, very nice for a rental. The cabin also has a full sized washer and dryer, which was very convenient. The WIFI was available, but I have to say it is not very fast. Considering the location, this was not too surprising. There were no problems with billing, or unexpected charges. Overall a great choice for a large party, I highly recommend this location!

We had alot of problems booking our stays on our vacation with IHG (main contact, not this hotel directly), using our points and ended up paying a few hundred dollars extra to buy points we didn't need when all was said and done. When we arrived the evening we had planned on staying, we found that yet another mistake had been made by IHG (main contact) and they had booked us for the night following. Paulette listened to the whole story of what happened and went above and beyond to help us, allowing cancellation of the reservation so as not to have us have to either stay an extra day for no reason or lose even more points. We were so grateful to her excellent customer service and to the hotel for empowering their employees to deal with situations directly. I do hope the hotel recognizes her excellence!
