When I contacted the company to retrieve it, they demanded $750 in impound fees. I paid the full amount they requested. Despite accepting my payment, they refused to release the vehicle, citing a title issue. What they failed to disclose before accepting my money was that they would not release the car regardless of payment. This is fundamentally deceptive. They had two honest options -- accept payment and release the vehicle, or refuse payment upfront. Instead they chose a third option that benefited only them -- they took my money and kept the car. This practice may violate Washington State consumer protection laws and UTC tow company regulations. If you are dealing with this company, I strongly recommend: * Getting everything in writing before paying anything * Asking explicitly whether they will release your vehicle before handing over any money * Contacting the Washington UTC at utc.wa.gov if you experience similar treatment I wish someone had warned me. I am writing this review to warn other customers about my experience at Toyota of Renton…read more I went to Toyota of Renton for a routine visit, and during that time they told me they tested my car battery and said it was failing and needed immediate replacement. Based on their diagnosis, I was advised that the battery was at risk and should be replaced. Trusting their professional opinion, I immediately went to Costco and purchased a new battery. Since my original battery was still under warranty, I returned it to Costco for a refund. However, Costco tested my old battery in front of me, and the results showed the battery was in good condition. They tested it two more times, and all results confirmed the battery was good. To be absolutely sure, I also took the battery to a separate independent repair shop, and again, the battery tested normal with no issues. I later returned to Toyota of Renton to speak with the service manager. The only response I received was a printed battery test result from them. There was no explanation, no accountability, and no resolution, despite clear evidence from multiple independent tests showing the battery was fine. I have kept all printed test reports as documentation, which clearly show conflicting results between Toyota of Renton and multiple other professional testers. This experience caused me unnecessary stress and wasted time, and it seriously damaged my trust in this dealership's service department. I strongly advise other customers to be cautious and seek a second opinion before approving any repairs or replacements here. I will not return to Toyota of Renton in the future.
