Pau, the bartender, was in the process of closing down for the evening, but when he heard we were in town from San Francisco, CA he was kind enough to stay open a little late and make us a couple of fantastic drinks and chat with us about the Catalan language and culture. Mine was made with a Catalan gin called "Gin Mare" and was garnished with a toasted rosemary sprig. It was great, and just to my taste. My fiancé's g-t was made with a special infused Bloom gin that was garnished with a lemon twist & rose petals. It was also great. Both g-ts were made with different tonic waters that had flavors appropriate to the flavor profiles of the two gins. And to top it off, they stock two different gins from San Francisco: Junipero (my favorite!) & No. 209. In short, this place kicks ass. Go there.

This rooftop bar is in the hotel Victor, which also houses a phenomenal restaurant called Mr Porter. I have to say, it's kind of the trifecta. The hotel is nice. Mr Porter's is exquisite! Now back to the Rooftop it's also special and it is unique. The drinks are great. There's a wide selection including specialty drinks. They pour a good stiff drink. No short pours here. The bar has great views, and you can see a Gaudi building right across the street. You can also see Sagrada Família from there. Highly recommended as a short stop and refresher while you're in Barcelona. Enjoy

We had non alcoholic ginger beer (Fever Tree label) and hot tea, hummus with beautiful baby carrots, olives, and a salad of diced cucumbers, tomatoes, and a pinch of fresh mint. When it started to rain the servers quickly belied us move to a table under the canopy. Space heaters were nice. We could see one of the Gaudi buildings from our lovely rooftop venue. Husband had house red wine (3.50 euros) and I had sangria (4.50 euros). Good pours for both. We started with the red shrimp (gambillos) in a lemongrass sauce, about 6 shrimp for 15 euros. Then grilled octopus (which was very tender) over mash potatos and snap peas for 15 euros. We also had a side of grilled bread (4 pieces) for 3.5. We also ordered the Pepita beef with mash potato but took home for dinner as we were full (18 euros). We finished with the homemade corn ice cream with carmelized popcorn and raspberries, which was very unique at 6.5. We added our names to the wall to top off the meal. Service was quick and friendly. Total bill was 85 euros including 5 drinks. It was our best meal in Barcelona so far.
