I stopped by Crepes on Main for a solo brunch and honestly--great experience. The service was top tier from start to finish. The decor was very nice, quaint, and beautifully Afrocentric, which I loved. I started with the waffle, turkey bacon, and eggs; . I also tried the crepe version of the bacon, egg, and cheese, which was really good. For something sweet, I went with the s'mores crepe and it did not disappoint. The hot chocolate was also a hit--very rich and comforting. What made the experience even better is that this is a small, newly opened woman & black-owned business, only about 4 months in, and they're already doing things right. Overall, a solid brunch spot with great vibes, good food, and excellent service. Definitely worth checking out and supporting. read more

Have been dying to try Crepes on Main once I found out Laurel had a dedicated crepes shop! We walked in and there was plenty of seating even for a smaller establishment. There was also a beautiful mural. In terms of food, I was really excited to try both the sweet and savory crepes. There was one couple ahead of us who walked in at the same time as us, so while their order was being made, we perused the menu. There was only one employee at the shop making the crepes so their order took awhile (they waited at least 15 minutes for two crepes). We finally got to put our order in and the employee said it'll be 15 mins for what we ordered (chicken & shrooms crepe, shrimply the best crepe, and s'mores crepe). Each crepe is moderately priced but I was pleasantly surprised at how big the crepes were. However, while we were waiting for ours to be made, the couple who got their order ahead of ours came back saying there was a foreign object in their crepe and they wanted a refund because they had no time to wait for a new one to be made. The employee seemed to not be sure how to refund the order and had to make a call which made our wait even longer. It also made me a little nervous for what I'd find in my crepe - but our crepes seemed okay. The employee also forgot to make our s'mores crepe so there was more of a wait for that, but we dined in so it wasn't a huge deal. The service overall could be improved with better staff training and just more staff in general to handle orders even on what they might think is a slow day. We eventually got our crepes and the shrimp crepe was delicious and had a little spicy kick to it which i loved. It also had a little salad in there so half the crepe was cold which I didn't love but could deal with. The chicken & mushroom crepe was also fantastic and had even more flavor and a kick to it. The s'mores crepe was also a perfect sweet finisher to the meal. All things considered, I'd come back once in a blue moon, but once they add more staff and have a more efficient process, I'd come back more often for those delicious crepes. read more

I stumbled upon this place while on a walk with a friend, and I'm glad we did! I took my crepe to go, so I didn't get to enjoy it fresh, but the flavor was okay once reheated. The ambience was lovely, and the owner was super pleasant -- plus, it's Black-owned, which I love supporting. Met a couple friends here for a quick bite! It is a cute cafe but only 1 woman was here running the show so ordering and getting the food was a little delayed- I think she can only make 1 crepe at a time. Otherwise, we enjoyed our food. I think they need to update their online prices, too as the chicken crepe was $15 (not $11). read more

Am I the first to review ! Yay ! Had a lovely lunch here. Let me describe it to you - this is a small, independently owned and operated cafe on the corner of Main Street. If you're not familiar with this area it's a small, but cute, historic section of Laurel. There's free public parking directly across the street, so we had no problem finding the restaurant or getting to it. Inside it's a very open floor plan - there are maybe two or three high top tables with velvet lined (yes, velvet) high top chairs, and then there's a lovely corner sectional with small tables made out of live edge wood. On the radio is contemporary music. It's counter order, and then bring your dish to you. The menu includes a few savory crepes, a few sweet crepes, and a few breakfast/waffle items. Now, here's the deal and here's why we ended up here (driving 25 minutes to get to it !) I was raised very multicultural and with food around the world, and to me, a crepe was always a savory dish. The idea of having one as desert was new to me as a young adult and even then it was in classic styles where fruits and the natural sweetness of the ingredients made it a treat - not mounds of sugar, ice cream, whipped cream, etc. Savory crepes have always been my preferance, like a lovely chicken with a wonderful cheese on it, or simply a crepe fromage, or jambon. We used to frequent Station North quite often (for the Charles, the Metro and other venues ) and always, ALWAYS made a stop to Sophies Crepes even if we had just filled up at Joe Squared, so yes we love the savory crepes and THAT's why were excited to find this pop up on our maps ! And savory crepes they have, and savory crepes they delivered. I got the chicken and mushroom, which was also accompanied with red onion and a slightly sweet, slightly spicy (not really) mayo carefully drizzled on top. CAREFULLY DRIZZLED, not poured, not layered. The chicken itself was delightfully delicious, the owner said she marinates it at length, and I found the balance of flavors to be just perfect. She knows how to use sauce appropriately and every ingredient had room to shine in, which was welcome relief from some other foods I've had elsewhere in which somehow the quantity of sauce becomes a currency of good (hint, it's not) and everything becomes smothered in sauce. The owner has great taste, and reflects it in the food. They currently only have drip coffee while they repair their espresso machine. Even though we drove as a destination to get our crepe fix, I see this becoming a great local social place as the couch is quite comfy to sit and talk, the food fantastic, and all very reasonably priced. First visit and we're hooked - will definitely be back soon ! read more

Oh, my gosh, this quaint, reasonably priced, BOO restaurant was absolutely amazing! With all other crepes restaurants I've visited, the filling is the star. Here, the batter used to make the crepes is also delicious! I also appreciated the good, strong coffee. We had breakfast crepes but the dinner ones also smelled delicious. Although the indoor and outdoor seating area are small, the spaces are cute, fashionably designed, and spaced out well. We comfortably enjoyed a leisurely brunch and conversation without feeling like we were on top of each other or the other customers. To top off our experience, the owner was really nice and the service was quick, yet well executed. Side note: the bacon, egg, and cheese crepe I had was huge. I was surprised I was not starving a few hours later after eating it. Unfortunately, this restaurant was a disappointment from beginning to end. We placed an order for two crêpes with Nutella and banana. The woman working told us it would be about 10 minutes. It seemed a little long for a simple order in an empty restaurant, but we went along with it. We were shocked by the cost -- two crêpes and one bottle of water was over $30. We paid and began waiting. After 20 minutes our order was finally done. We took it to the car to leave because it had taken so long and now we were late. When we started to eat the crêpes, after all that time they were cold. Not just like they had cooled off, but like they've been sitting for a long time. They were rubbery, and the Nutella did not even look like it had melted even a little. When we cut into one of them, there was a piece of what looked like nylon grill brush baked into it. We took the crêpe back into the restaurant to point out the problem. The girl said she could make a new one, but since it already took 20 minutes to get the first one, we did not have the time to wait. I asked if she could give us a partial refund for the one crêpe that had the problem. She was unable to get the computer to provide a refund. When she called her manager, the manager wasn't able to help remotely so he or she took my phone number and said they would get back to me about it. It has been five days and I still have not heard a word. This review has two stars because the customer service was very pleasant, but we will not return here. We wasted $30 on a disappointing product. read more
