Soul food has finally made its way to the Topanga Mall in the San Fernando Valley! Creole Kings, located right in the food court, is bringing real Southern flavor to the area, and it does not disappoint. I ordered the fried okra and fries, and for dessert, I had the beignets. Everything tasted fresh, cooked to order, flavorful, and authentic. The fried okra was perfectly crispy, the fries were hot and golden. Beignets were soft, sweet, and covered in just the right amount of powdered sugar. However, they seemed just a bit undercooked. If this can be tweaked, they will have orders by the dozens. The customer service was great, friendly and very helpful with the menu. I absolutely LOVE the logo and the colors the location chose to have which brings you straight to New Orleans with the decor from the famous streets , even down to the music . Check them out for sure.

Shopping at the mall and I came across Creole Kings in the upstairs food court! The food court is always sparkling clean and filled with energy! The owner, Jeremiah, was there...very helpful (charming) and knowledgable! I asked about vegetarian options and he hooked me up! I ordered the entree of fried cauliflower and of course had to try the okra too! Entrees come with drinks! OMG it was love love at first bite! Perfect fried batter coating, orders made fresh and hot and an amazing dipping sauce! I brought it back to work to share some and co-workers tried it and fell in love too! Thanks Creole King! I'm coming back for more!

I'm so happy that I was around the area and got to try this place. I've been to New Orleans a few times and haven't found a good po boy this good, except at Willie Mae's in Venice. The food took me back to NOLA, down to the French roll, the plump and quality of the shrimp, the distinct remoulade, and the cornmeal batter. This po boy was probably better than a few places in New Orleans. The owner, Jeremiah, is from Lafayette, and you can taste the soul and love in his food. This is a must try when you're at the mall.

Catfish & shrimp basket, loaded bourbon fries & beignets!

I couldn't believe I found Soul Food with beignets at the mall food court & had to try. The owner was so nice & helpful in helping us get what we would like. We knew it was gonna be good bc it took a while for it to come out. We got catfish & shrimp basket, loaded bourbon fries & fresh beignets~ I started with the cinnamon & sugar beignet & it almost knocked me out with its perfect texture & perfect amount of sweetness. I loved the catfish & my son loved the bourbon chicken & fries. But the only thing was that it was way too much food for the two of us. The two dishes & beignets(6) was more than enough to feed 4 adults imo. We took the rest home & ate the rest. So good even as leftover. We will definitely be back bc I cannot forget about the catfish & beignets.

    Hair in food
    Bella B.

Hate to do this but hair in food is unexceptionable and my biggest pet peeve. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and my husband surprised me yesterday with a takeout since I wasn't feeling well. He got me fried fish, shrimp, mac & cheese. Upon opening the mac & cheese, it was a piece of hair in it. At that point I honestly didn't eat any of the food. I threw everything away. I can't stress enough how imperative personal hygiene and protective measures are when it comes to handling food. Gloves, hair nets, shaving, washing hands, etc. and I know sometimes accidents happen & things slip thru the cracks but you have to be more diligent.

    Chicken wings

It was alright. I got bourbon chicken wings - the order was ready in 15 mins and cost me $15. Chicken wings were HUGE , the breading was nice, the sauce was bbq like with notes or Bourbon. Chicken wings were above average but not the best. Tbh not my cup of tea. I am assuming the rest of the food haas similar quality. Service was good and the place is located at the food court so you have a lot of other eateries nearby and a bunch of seats. One and done

OMG, I love everything about this place. It's a beautiful vibe. From the staff to the food to the attention to detail of the service. Incredible and I cannot wait to get back there. I'm so glad I was in the area and remembered I wanted to try it. It just so happens it was the perfect birthday lunch #BaptisteClan

Creole flavors were what the valley needed. They have a spot at the Thousand Oaks mall, and I'm so glad they opened up a spot here. The service is amazing and friendly. They're always attentive and make ordering so easy. Would be coming back for seafood that has that FLAVOR !!! The fried catfish and shrimp po boy are so flavorful and portion sizes are huge.

Ordered catfish and it comes with French fries was able to substitute it with mac n cheese instead. They have peach cobbler beginets. Food was cooked to order fast. Everything was delicious CATFISH WASNT PLAYING OK. IT WAS SO CRISPY. So excited this place moved in this spot. It's in the food court right next to chipotle. The people who work here are nice too and there is plenty of seating. I can't wait to come back and try the bourbon wings. EVERYTHING WAS TEA ILL BE BACK. IF YALL AINT EATING THIS YOU MISSING OUT

Creole Kings is the best! Huge portions and huge flavor! The employees here are the best! The blue crab Mac n cheese was so epic! And the bourbon chicken fries were a hit! Bring a friend to try this amazing food! Located in the mall food court. Can't wait to come back and try their famous catfish! Creole Kings ftw!

    Catfish and fries basket :$17.99
    Greg L.

Cajun /New Orleans cuisine is hard to find in the SFV other than Les Sisters but this new spot in the Topanga Mall food court is great! Had the Catfish basket with fries.. traditional cornmeal coating on the fish was great ( a bit salty)... only complaint was they did not have gumbo on the menu ( maybe someday)... highly recommend!

Food is amazing. Shrimps and fries cooked to a perfect golden brown. Flavors worked well together. I would add some Cajun hot sauce to make it perfect. All in all, a great option for lunch.

That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.

Let me be crystal clear--Cajun Ni Kuya just embarrassed half the seafood spots out there…read more Absolutely embarrassed them. I went in for the $38.99 all-you-can-eat, and what did I get? Not some sad, watered-down, reheated nonsense like other places try to pass off--I got REAL Cajun seafood. Properly cooked. Properly seasoned. Actually worth paying for. I ordered crawfish, clams, mussels, and head-on shrimp, and every single tray came out piping hot, drenched in that bold, garlicky, buttery sauce that hits you like a freight train. Not bland. Not timid. Not "lightly seasoned for the masses." No--this is full-flavor, unapologetic, get-it-all-over-your-hands Cajun. The crawfish? Seasoned all the way through, not just dusted on the outside like some lazy joke. Other spots--take notes. The shrimp? Perfectly cooked, heads packed with flavor. If you're scared of that, stay home and order chicken tenders. The clams and mussels? Clean, tender, not a single one questionable--which already puts them ahead of places charging MORE and serving LESS. And then the sides--this is where it gets ridiculous. Boiled okra, sweet corn, quail eggs, all soaked in that same sauce? That's not a side--that's a statement. Everything is absorbing flavor like it's supposed to. No shortcuts. No laziness. Just execution. And here's what really separates them from the clowns-- the quality never dropped. You keep ordering, they keep delivering heat. Same flavor. Same intensity. No "second round is worse" nonsense. That's what happens when a kitchen actually knows what it's doing. Meanwhile, other seafood spots are out here charging premium prices for bland, overcooked garbage and calling it "Cajun." Stop it. Just stop. This is how it's DONE. Messy. Bold. Loud. Flavor in your face. Hands covered in sauce. Zero regrets. If you leave Cajun Ni Kuya unsatisfied, don't blame the restaurant--blame your taste buds. I'll be back. And I'm bringing an appetite that's ready for war.

Due to a disability, I cannot go to pick up food, so while ordering for delivery isn't ideal it's my only option. My annoyance is that everything is a la carte; there's no way to order a complete seafood boil. On the bright side, it means that you're not paying for anything you don't want/can't eat. I ordered snow crab (steep at $33 for a "cluster" ie half body), corn, potatoes, sausage, and eggs. I ordered all in the same garlic butter sauce and had mild spice. In hindsight, I probably would have ordered a different seasoning. Everything came in separate bags. I also ordered a sheller as I didn't have one on hand - cheap at $2, but a janky piece of plastic without any clamping mechanism. The crab was great and decently meaty. I also loved the sausage, of which they gave me a TON despite me only ordering one link. I think they must have made a mistake with how much they gave me in my order. The potatoes were delicious and cooked well, as was the corn. Prices are (largely) reasonable especially for the area, but everything added up quickly and my total order was $54. Pretty steep for a dinner for one. I don't think I would order again for delivery, but I would consider going in person where I can specify that I want everything in the same boil.
